Yep, Reich was named HC on the 24th. Safe to say the search this year will go longer. And it should. Finding out who gets a second interview will at least help us narrow down the prospective candidates some.
-
I feel like some teams know they have no real shot at Johnson. Maybe all of them sans Washington. I feel like at least 1-2 of these vacancies get filled this week.
-
In a vacuum, I wouldn’t hate hiring Evero as HC and I wouldn’t mind making Morgan as GM. But I will be pretty angry if that’s how both jobs go down. We need at least one prominent voice from the outside coming in.
-
Perhaps Evero is to knock out a Roooney Rule requirement, but interesting he's getting another look in Seattle also.
-
I at least hope we get more information soon regarding second interviews. Interesting to remember last year Gannon and Steichen got hired like the day after the Super Bowl. So if the Ravens make a run to the Super Bowl which they're favored to do, and we end up targeting one of their coordinators an official announcement won't be made until mid February. Which is fine, I really hope we're in no rush to hire a coach just to hire one.

First candidate we’ve heard of getting a second interview right?
-
Callahan getting a second interview per Peliserro

And if we had just taken CJ, no one is calling it the worst trade of all time. The process wasn’t even bad, the selection was. Right now at least. Bryce could still turn it around but I think it’s less than a 5% chance he ever ends up being as good as CJ.

Again, this is the right take.

https://x.com/adamschefter/status/1749084784402317346?s=46&t=xpgkpbdmCQHLrpIYBMrHOw I really hope we learn early this week who we hope to bring in for in person interviews. Also it doesn’t matter how long I wait I can never get the tweet to embed. I saw the mod PSA and everything

This is correct. Acting like Tepper sent in this choice is ignoring MOUNTAINS of evidence that Bryce was almost a unanimous choice between the FO/coaches. This was reported by some of the most reputable, reliable journalists in the sport. The only coach I think preferred CJ is McCown. Everyone else wanted Bryce.
-
Brown is interesting to me. Think I’d prefer him to Halaby
-
So much about the value of our job hinges on Tepper. But if you truly think he’s going to change his approach our job isn’t uniquely bad. You get to build a roster more or less from the ground up. For example, if the Eagles fire Sirianni good fuging luck to whoever inherits that team. An aging roster with ownership that expects immediate results.

https://x.com/jourdanrodrigue/status/1748392203972706662?s=46&t=xpgkpbdmCQHLrpIYBMrHOw Raheem Morris could be exactly what we need. I hope he gets a real shot at this.
-
I'm not taking Tepper's side or anything but I still can't believe we're acting like Reich was done dirty or something. He took a 7 win team and turned it into without a doubt the worst team in franchise history while also never showing any sort of emotion or desire to be here. Coaches get fired after one year all the time. Urban freaking Meyer won more games. Reich was a disaster and his dismissal was beyond warranted.

I hope the entire interview committee is telling all these prospective candidates that we're obviously giving Bryce all of 2024. But without improvement we can start looking for replacements as early as 2025. If we're pitching this job that it's Bryce or bust I'm staying far away. And I'm someone that hasn't been near as critical of Bryce as most of this board has, I still have hope for him. But we need to see improvement next year.

NE - Mayo LV - Pierce ATL - Bill LAC - Harbaugh It seems like at least four of these jobs have narrowed their focus to one candidate. Leaving us, Seattle, and Washington. I still think Ben Johnson and Mike Macdonald are the cream of the crop. We could have a real chance to get one. We'll see what happens in Philadelphia, but it feels like Sirianni is probably safe. Things have broken well for us.
-
There wasn’t much we don’t already know in there. He was basically just saying who we’ve interviewed and reiterated that we want Johnson. But I don’t think anyone has a clue what the pecking order is after him.
-
I realize some don't love it but I have zero issue with hiring the HC before the GM. Get two men on the same page with each other and let's start building this thing. I just don't understand the need to interview all these GM candidates if we want the HC first. Zero reason to rush this, could spend all the time focusing on the HC right now and then find the GM while letting the HC be a part of that process. Only thing I can think of is maybe while doing HC interviews we've gotten some intel from these candidates regarding the GM's they'd like to work with. That way we can knock some of the interviews out now and expedite the hiring process as soon as the HC is in the building.
-
One interesting snippet from the Graziano piece is that we want to get our head coach in place before the GM. I’m just not sure I understand the purpose in conducting all these GM interviews if that’s the case.
-
For the record I'd be fine with Callahan, but it doesn't seem like these people have any concrete evidence linking us to him it's just a pure guess.
-
That wouldn’t be bad

There really could be three new openings (Steelers, Cowboys, Eagles) man that would be BRUTAL for us
