ESPN Predicts Watson to be the Panthers starter in 2021
FuFuLamePoo replied to Big Sexy's topic in Carolina Panthers
Watson is more than even elite. After Mahomes, he's the most valuable player in the league. If you get a player like Watson, you just need an above average supporting cast to be fuging PERENNIAL Super Bowl contenders. You can get that above average roster through second, third round and free agency. Which, get Watson and you become a premier free agency destination. It is insane how overrated our young "core" has become. None of them are untradable if a player like Watson is actually on the table.- 271 replies

Also look at the Chiefs. Sure they have good weapons (Hill, Kelce) but their offensive line is just meh and their defense is maybe above average? Point is you really don’t have to have an amazing team if you have a QB as good as Watson/Mahomes. Rams never use first round picks and they’re playoff regulars. RB’s don’t matter. Get Watson and we’re immediately one of the most sought after destinations in the league. Just build the team through free agency and add some pieces in the draft

You think CMC is the best weapon in the league? he’s right. We’d be getting a player off the books that was only able to play three games this year due to health. There’s plenty of historical evidence that this is an enormous risk that comes with paying an RB, which is why you shouldn’t extend them.

For the Texans yes

For some reason I originally read that post as "Wilson, Lance, and Fields" I didn't see Jones in that bunch. But yeah I agree Jones at 8 would just be awful
-
0% chance they're ALL there lmao. I'd be ecstatic if just one were.
-
Gonna suck so bad when we can't draft Zach Wilson
-
I'd rather drink hotdog water than come away with that first one

How close did the Panthers come to getting Stafford? Dang close.

I think I’m a little bit higher on him than you. He’s like, really good. But we were not in position to trade for a 33 year old player lmao -
Good stat but this dude still annoys the hell out of me on twitter LMAO
-
I absolutely do. There are at least 10 other guys in the NFL right now that would have them in this spot.
-
No they wouldn't lol
-
Honestly Bucs have clearly been better anyways

I love interacting with the Panthers community and I've met some amazing people through Panthers twitter. With that being said, is anyone else a little bit annoyed by this John Ellis guy lmao? I listen to his podcast which I like, and I do like some of the highlights and old clips that he posts. But it's like everything he says is so weirdly calculated or something I honestly have no idea I'm one of the chillest people in the world this dude is just starting to annoy me lmao.

Even post-Brady this Bucs team could be an enormous problem. This roster is just stupid.
-
Yeah with fuging Evans, Godwin, Gronk, Miller, a top 5 OL, and vastly improved defense. Watson was being held back by the worst defense in the league and personnel decisions within his organization are being made by a pastor.
-
Saying Brady was better than Watson is fuging absurd lmao
-
No part of this report infers that Teddy is done in Carolina. Just means they could be willing to move him if an opportunity emerges
-
Jameis was also available and like $60 million cheaper.
-
I’m so glad this didn’t go through man he’s too old to give up that type of capital.

Lombardi also said today that he doesn't think Watson is going anywhere. Sounds like the Texans are totally prepared to just let him sit if that's what it comes too and get into some sort of tug of war match. If this is true, will the Raiders still want to move Carr? IF they think they can get Watson, I could see us having a great chance to land Carr since we could offer them the highest pick which they could in turn flip to Houston. If Stafford got a first I really think Carr will too. Stafford is better, but Carr is younger by a couple of years. This has Washington written all over it though. Will be interesting to see how this plays out. Surrender 8 for Carr or give up at least one future first for Wilson/Fields/Lance? I think I prefer the latter, but wouldn't complain if they went with the former.
