General Friday Draft Discussion - Rounds 2-3
FuFuLamePoo replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
So you have absolutely no sort of argument to refute this. Even when we had one of the strongest cores in the league (Cam, Luke, Olsen, KK, TD) those teams had a hard time sustaining winning because they lacked depth. I have a guess as to why!!!! -
General Friday Draft Discussion - Rounds 2-3

Seriously, this poo is not hard to find. Go back and look at the decade and find the teams that trade back the most. Those teams (Ravens, Patriots, Colts, Vikings, Seahawks) CONSISTENTLY have some of the strongest rosters in the league. You guys are arguing against something that literally historically works. -

Or maybe, and hear me out, maybe all the 16 first round talents we had on our board are already gone and we like a lot of players all in the same range. We now get three of them instead of two. -

Just draft an offensive player, please. I swear if it's Barmore or something I'm going to be pissed. -
Round 1 - Carolina Panthers Select CB Jaycee Horn

One of the worst posts I’ve ever seen on here -
She said we were taking CeeDee last year.

Verge wrong again.

Patriots have talked to the Panthers about a draft day trade
FuFuLamePoo replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
As if letting the Patriots of all fuging teams get a franchise quarterback wasn’t bad enough, if we really seek Stephon Gilmore as compensation in this potential trade it would be mind-blowingly dumb. He’s like 30 it would reek of another short sighted move trying to go all in for some playoff run in what was supposed to be year two of a rebuild. We should only be seeking picks picks and more picks. All negotiations start with their 2022 first. -
And for the record, I love having her around. She owes us none of this. I don’t doubt she knows SOMEONE, I just question how much her person knows. If that makes sense.
-
I want to remind everyone that on draft day last year Verge was adamant it was CeeDee.
-
Thinking about how if we pass on Fields and he ends up being a franchise changer, and Darnold doesn’t massively improve here that will be an awful look for this regime in terms of QB analysis
-
Take the trade.
-
I guess I understand this, but I think he's going to have the chance next year to show if he's a franchise QB or not. If he explodes just go ahead and extend him for the future, I just don't think he has much time for incremental growth. This is going to be his fourth year in the league. I think this year we're going to know if he can be the guy or not.
-
I do have a question I want someone to explain to me like I'm six. What's the point in exercising Darnold's fifth year option at all? As someone that supported the trade, I never got why it seemed like giving him the fifth year was inevitable. Wouldn't it be like $20 million a year? If he's bad next year and we're stuck with that, it would be a bad situation. Why not just see how he plays this year? If he plays well, then extend him. If not, cut your losses and not be on the hook for $20 million.

White was a considerably better prospect than Parsons. "Generational" prospects are of course the exception to this rule. Players like Quenton Nelson, Luke Kuechly, and in this draft, Kyle Pitts. They all play positions that are far from the most important, but when they have generational abilities the picks become justifiable. Parsons just isn't that good, and considering he abused/molested his teammates I just don't know why we'd want any part of him.
-
Parsons has very legitimate off the field concerns and plays a position of little value. It’s not crazy at all.

Lawrence, Wilson, Fields, Sewell, Slater, Pitts, Chase, Surtain, Horn, Waddle, Smith, Darrisaw, Collins, Newsome, JOK, Harris
-
One trade, gotta admit by the time round four hit I didn't know much about a lot of the players left.
-
I agree, I don't think he will be.
