  1. Anyone else think he is one of the few (only?) bright spots on offense right now? He doesn’t get many targets, but I really can’t think of him every dropping a pass. Really seems like maybe our most physical receiver at the catch point. I’m not saying we have some budding star on our hands, but I would be intrigued to see what he can do in an offense with decent protection and QB play. Could be a fine #3 dude or something
  2. I think everyone needs to take some sort of a chill pill. Things are bleak right now but acting like we’re the next Lions or Browns is still very premature. There’s so much parity in the league right now, have a few good drafts and find a good coach and you can become a contender quick. The Rhule experiment has been a disaster. I don’t think that means Tepper can’t pick good coaches. Hiring coaches is largely a crapshoot, every team is going to miss on a coach at some point. Let’s hope Tepper realizes his mistake, fires Rhule after this year and finds a better coach this time.
  3. Just zero sort of evidence or data or study that supports this claim. I’m actually a teacher (8th grade) and football is by far I mean by far the most popular sport still with this generation. Like, not even close.
  4. He really didn’t make much of an impact in college either. Could have had a staple OT or a game changing WR but Rhule was obsessed with building up the defense. 5.5 career sacks in college!
  5. Drafted this dude to be our defensive enforcer and he’s soft as toilet paper
  6. The buyout should pale in comparison to the money he'll lose from this disinterested fanbase if Rhule is brought back for a third year.
  7. It's just so evident this team is done. A huge huge huge indicator for how the players view this staff
  8. I was listening to some podcast a few days ago and they were talking about how the Bengals have put all their draft resources into the offense and have just decided they'll figure out the defense later. It made me realize we've done the opposite and us and the Bengals are in totally different positions right now. Obviously they got a #1 overall pick in a draft with a strong QB1 (Burrow) but still. They've also accompanied Burrow with Tee Higgins, Jackson Carman, Jamaar Chase, etc. The Bengals are currently must see TV every week whereas I want to pour bleach into my eyes when watching our team right now. Please. Whenever we move past Rhule who I've already dubbed a failure, I truly see no path he has out of this, rebuild the team the right way next time. Having hard ons for 80's style of football just isn't worth it. Build your offense like Cincinnati did and you'll find yourself in considerably better shape.
  9. Y'all are just getting my hopes when we know it's inevitable Matt is getting a Year 3
  10. Would be deeply deeply unfair to the rookie QB they overdraft to come into a situation with the leagues worst OL playing for a coach that would have a scorching seat entering next year.
  11. Lol we play the AFC North and NFC West next year. So good luck, Charlie.
  12. I’m just saying I have zero reason to think this person has any actual understanding of conversations being had in that building. Sure Matt could return for a year 3 and I wouldn’t be surprised but I just doubt some Twitter user with a few hundred followers actually has a way of knowing what’s going on in Tepper’s head.
  13. Oh. I mean I don’t mean to be an asshole but this person has never been right on anything that I can recall.
  14. Why do we keep bringing up this twitter account? They were wrong about more or less everything this last draft and the one before.
  15. I would have been far more patient had Rhule not scrambled to make all these win now moves this year. We were sold on this being a longterm rebuild, then Rhule starts trying to cut corners like crazy early into year two which we had no business doing. We're really in a situation now I see no way we are good next year. I mean absolutely zero chance. We have a disaster of a QB situation and a disaster of an OL situation, and our second and third round picks have been traded away for players who aren't even playing right now. If you keep Rhule one more year under a playoff or bust mandate you only run the risk of him making more out of control moves to put the team in even worse shape. Cut your losses now, hire a coach with actual NFL experience and do the rebuild the right way this time.
  16. Fine rotation piece but just nowhere close to a second contract player right now
  17. It’s insanely concerning he barely even plays on third down and other crucial plays. Just a body in the rotation. Not like we could use Tristan Wirfs or Mehi Becton though!
  18. Aside of making a few plays he just never consistently makes any sort of an impact. Just a maddeningly frustrating draft choice.
  19. Far from a Mitch stan but I mean yeah, easily. And we could have paid like a million dollars for him instead of giving three picks and committing like $20 million to Darnold
