I think I'm coming around to this. I'm largely someone that thinks Fitterer isn't even 10% the problem that Rhule is, but I also think he knew when accepting the job he would be playing second fiddle to Rhule. If this season is a trainwreck, fire them both by Thanksgiving, find your GM and let him pick his coach.

I mean, he is far and away the most accurate QB in this class. Really not even sure who would be close. After what we experienced last year, it's not crazy to think our FO may latch onto that trait alone. I think calling him a mediocre athlete is a bit of a disservice, his athleticism is fine and maybe even above average. His arm isn't mad like Allen/Mahomes but he showed at Pitt he can make most of the throws you need. I am in no way endorsing him at all. I think taking him in the top 20 would be a massive error. But he's definitely the Mac Jones type of this class. Not a crazy ceiling but probably the highest floor of any of them. I do not think we should draft him anywhere near the top 10, but he was dominant last year and I think he definitely has a chance to end up in the Jones/Carr/Cousins tier of QB's. Can that win you an SB? Who knows, but we don't have anything close to it right now.

He's definitely a guy that you have to have a clear developmental plan for if you draft him. He should be redshirting regardless. Very similar with how the Bills handled Allen, bring him along slowly and coach the hell out of him. I don't trust this staff to do any of those things. Really, for Malik's sake, I hope he ends up somewhere else.

I think Pickett can still be a fine pro, and he clearly possesses traits where I can see why he could be a desirable option for some teams. I do find it hilarious though that he's apparently been a disaster at the Senior Bowl (which, really, shouldn't matter THAT much) but we're just over there smitten with him lol.
