  1. I whole heartedly agree. In the past 2-3 years it's not like we've had many opportunities to do something cool or fun, but when those opportunities have presented themselves we have squandered them. WFT game last year. Atlanta this year. Pittsburgh this year. Anytime the team sets themselves up for a game of mild importance/magnitude, they blow it. For that reason I'm trying not to get my hopes up too high, because I feel like we know how this ends. For this game in particular it is of grave importance we never go down. I am almost 100% sure we have not won a game this year where we are ever losing at any point, even like a 3-0 deficit. I know the wave now is deferring to the second half, but if we win the opening toss I almost say you take the ball and try to immediately establish your game. If we can't run we have no chance of winning anyways. When Darnold has been okay for us, it's been when the team is playing with a lead. He is not capable of leading a team from behind. I feel as if that's when he panics and forces poo that is not there. It's really pretty simple. If we can run the ball I like our chances. If we can't, we're more or less hopeless. I don't fear Brady's arm like I would 5 years ago. Of course he can still be dangerous, and they have a lethal pair of WR's going against a battered secondary. Gun to my head I think Tampa Bay has the edge here, but it's incredibly thin. But I see more avenues for them to win this game than I do for us. I'll say 20-16 Bucs, but I want nothing more than to be wrong.
  2. I can’t escape the feeling that we are going to beat the Bucs and then lose to the Saints
  3. I mean he’s absolutely right. I can’t imagine what that turf felt like yesterday. Hell there’s definitely a possibility that on grass Jaycee doesn’t fall as hard and doesn’t break his wrist.
  4. I beg to know what Wilks does well aside of giving a lockerroom speech
  5. I think this is actually a very good and reasonable take
  6. We are winning more games but won’t make the playoffs. We will pick like 12 because these assholes can’t do anything right
  7. I could see Wilks being a decent NFL coach still, maybe even here. This fit just feels so awkward right now though. He’s obviously got the respect of the locker room, but that is far from the only qualification we should be looking for for this job. He’s beaten three of the very worst teams in the league. Cool! But I can’t help but think there could be more out there. He seems insanely conservative. Never goes for it on fourth, and when our run game isn’t working he has no clue how to adjust. Sure that could be something more on the OC, but these are things as a head coach you still have to figure out some. The biggest thing for me is we have nothing at QB. We’re probably going to draft and develop one, and I just don’t trust Wilks to build the ideal regime needed for this situation. If we had a guy in place already I’d feel way better about it.
  8. We could easily beat the Broncos and Steelers with scores of like 13-9
  9. There are just too many winnable games left I’m afraid. We’re not losing to all of Denver, Detroit, Pittsburgh, and New Orleans. And those first three are at home,
  10. Oh I’m not saying I take this as gospel. You just said you weren’t too sure about the sourcing so I figured I’d clarify a bit. You’re right there’s been nothing else reported yet, so if there’s any legs to it it’s very very early.
  11. Will Compton played at Nebraska, had a long NFL career, and now has a very popular podcast called Bussin with the Boys. It's not too crazy to think he knows plenty of people close to the Nebraska program. That job feels like a death trap but real talk I could see Matt Rhule and Nebraska being good for each other. But damn if I'm him I'm in no hurry to start working again lol.
  12. Seems to happen all the time. When quarterbacks become draft eligible they get scrutinized more, and we get really picky and look for flaws. When they’re still a year away, it’s easier to focus solely on the positives/ceiling. But I’m unwavering, it’s a massive failure of an off-season if you don’t draft a quarterback in round 1. Preferably Stroud or Young. Sell a future first if needed. We can not keep punting this issue. I’d still be thrilled with Bryce or CJ.
  13. Our QB had an elite fourth quarter last week and they’ve dialed up like one pass past the sticks today. Wilks and his conservative ass game planning can fug all the way off
  14. Listen: I'd go Anderson in this scenario also. But I've missed so badly on QB prospects over the years, if we do invest in Levis early in the draft he still has my full support. He's clearly drawing intrigue from the entire league. And I have to remind myself those actually working for NFL teams know a million times more than I ever will, regardless of what these draft "guru" types say.
  15. There's a great chance a few months from now we look back on this loss as a positive, as it will assuredly help our draft positioning. But got damn it stings like hell right now.
  16. Kind of wish we had taken the Burns package. He was invisible today
  17. Don’t think he’s made a single accurate pass yet
