  1. I get we’re all in on shitting on everything we do right now, but do any of us have the first clue what this means?
  2. Our whole operation (rightly) gets a lot of criticism currently. But this whole process in Atlanta doesn’t actually look super clean either
  3. That’s one concern I definitely have. Is he the type married to one philosophy or will he gauge his personnel and build his offensive foundation to the strengths of it? Because the great coaches do the latter. I have no clue what he’ll do, only one year as OC we really can’t say what his approach will be here.
  4. Falcons have already announced Raheem (pretty much). I do wonder what’s the hold up with us? If we wanted to go super deep ultra conspiracy is there a 1% chance Tampa is trying as a Hail Mary to move on from Bowles to promote Canales? I saw a bunch of their fans wanting to do that anyways.
  5. The next time Verge makes a good point it will be the first time. Rhule got 2.5 years to figure it out. Where is the impatient label coming from?
  6. On a similar note, I wish Tepp would pay Pete a billion dollars to come on in some sort of advisory role.
  7. The softest team in the league as well.
  8. Every team so far has interviewed a blend of offensive and defensive coaches. I’m totally fine to be skeptical about everything this team does right now but what exactly would you like to see them do differently? Also, last year our search had a “direction.” We were set on an offensive mind and missed out on Ryans and Gannon because of it.
  9. I can give you loads of examples of teams hiring retreads and it working out. Any coaching hire ever is going to come with some sort of risk. Just because it didn’t work for us last time doesn’t mean don’t try it again.
  10. If you think you have even a 10% chance at Johnson I’m fine to wait and let this weekend play out to make a final Hail mary attempt. But if the Lions win, I’m not sure we can go an extra two weeks without hiring a coach unless we’re super confident we might get him. And every insider thinks him to Washington is a formality
  11. This argument is as dumb as not wanting to CJ Stroud because he played at Ohio State
  12. Yes, the Tennessee Titans. They have a pristine reputation when it comes to building and sustaining a winning culture.
  13. 16 of the last 23 Super Bowl winners were coached by a retread. I’d say the evidence shows it works just fine.
  14. You can’t look at those rosters Vrabel had in Tennessee and their yearly records and honestly tell me he ever underachieved.
  15. Vrabel easily clears the bar of a good coach for me. Let’s not act like he’s had juggernaut rosters in Tennessee. You can make an argument no coach has done more with less over the past few years. He's also exactly what we need from a cultural standpoint. He’s taken a ragtag group and won games on the road in the playoffs by playing smash mouth, disciplined football. Sound familiar?
  16. Just a strange coincidence that we wanted to be in Rooney Rule compliance before he’s in the building tomorrow?
  17. This is the type of guy you don’t let leave the building
  18. I’m just getting sick of hearing about Harbaugh. He needs to make up his mind instead of doing this same dance every offseason
  19. I'd be floored with Evans signed with us under any circumstances. At his age he'll be ring chasing and I can't imagine he won't have plenty of contending teams vying for his services. Signing with a 2-win team makes zero sense regardless as to how much you loved your OC that you knew for 6 months.
  20. I do wonder if we have a dark horse candidate no one has legitimately linked us to yet. My guess in that case would be Vrabel, who I'd be thrilled with.
  21. Yeah, it is a bit puzzling to me that we have no interviews scheduled past today. Obviously some of the initial people we interviewed are coaching this weekend, but we've seen reports that the Commanders and Falcons are setting up second interviews with Johnson. Falcons with Macdonald and Weaver also. There has been nothing our way about any potential interviews after today.
  22. Canales and Morris interviewing in person today. So after today we are Rooney Rule compliant and theoretically could make a hire at any time.
  23. I’ve certainly had this thought also. Last year we didn’t wait to speak to Steichen in person and didn’t even bother reaching out to Gannon. It seems like we’ve learned nothing from our mistake.
