  1. How will Bryce Young or CJ Stroud fit…whoops, wrong thread!
  2. Stroud did not do poorly according to the founder of the test. He said all the top QBs did well.
  3. I have been a Stroud guy during most of this process, but the thing that changed my mind on Young was this: my son is a smaller QB for his age, and I want him to have a role model who wears a Panthers jersey. Bryce seems like a good one to pattern your game after as a QB who is smaller in stature. I would still be excited about CJ, but the father in me wants Bryce.
  4. He studied Rodgers closely, so those comparisons make sense.
  5. I am convinced that either (a) Young is a lock to go 1 or (b) this is one of the biggest smokescreens in NFL Draft history.
  6. Struggles with down-the-field accuracy, but hopefully he will still come around to being a capable backup.
  7. They don't need a separate cap for QBs. Marginal QBs would then start holding out for more money. Plus, it would give teams with elite QBs an even bigger competitive advantage.
  8. “I think Bryce goes in the top two picks. Carolina or Houston pulls the trigger.” -His reply later
  9. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/36167882/2023-nfl-draft-panthers-take-ohio-state-cj-stroud-alabama-bryce-young-no-1 some of Newton’s best work IMO
  10. Came here to post this. Pretty much shoots down the rumors about CJ scoring low.
  11. She claims to have a source is part of the staff. She also insinuated that the Panthers would be willing to move down if they receive the right deal. Nothing earth shattering, but interesting.
  12. Some people consider Young a generational talent. If the Texans are close to that opinion, they will give up 12. Then again, if the Panthers think that, they aren’t dropping from 1.
  13. I was thinking about that earlier today. That'll be a cool one to watch.
  14. I came here to say the same thing. I had my high on March 10 at about 5:30. Its not a high now. More like DTs.
  15. Young is no doubt the most instinctive QB, not only of this draft, but of the last several years. The question remains: Can you live with the other aspects - weaknesses - that you will have to live with? The same can be said about Stroud in some areas. HE is probably the most accurate QB of the last several years, but can he be as mobile as you need, and can he process NFL defenses the way you need him to. On April 27th when the pick is made, we have to trust that the staff has answered those questions the best they can.
  16. Not sure if this has been posted. Interesting comments from Sheena Quick regarding the decision about QB and she seems to indicate that the Panthers would consider a trade down if pick #12 is involved. Starting about 11:37
  17. While I do not disagree, are we that different by using this forum? LOL
  18. I would be happy with Young, but I would be holding my breath every time he gets hit.
  19. Yeah, the Youngsters better be glad that the pick isnt decided by a fan vote. Stroud would be the runaway winner. I hate it for this franchise if Young is the pick and flames out, especially if due to injury, and Stroud becomes a star.
  20. And there are several who really like CJ in the organization. I bet it’s going down to the wire.
  21. I’m a Stroud guy, but I’d buy a tee shirt if BY is the pick.
  22. Agreed about the podcast. It’s really neat getting the insight of a former GM.
  23. FWIW, Ryan Wilson had Bryce going 1, but said yesterday he thinks it’s going to be Stroud because of things he is hearing. I thought that was interesting. He has said the whole time that Young is the best player, so he isn’t a Stroud lover.
