    I feel that the Panthers have a real chance to get this done (if the Texans are willing), but they can't half-azz an offer and stay in contention.

    If Sam Howell is our savior, we are in trouble.

    Their demands will drop when they come to the realization that Watson is not going to ever play for them again. Its still early in this process. They will need the draft picks they are getting in return to start building for the future.

    I love CMC, but if parting with him brings us a proven franchise QB, make it happen.

    Need a strong center to take this team to the next level.

    I think jumping to 5th is about as high as we need to go. That cost would be enough. More than that is too much IMO. Heck Mahommes was picked 10th and a lot of flops were picked in the top 5. You just never know and I don't want to sell the farm for 1 player. If I am considering that, it would only be for a proven player like Watson. Even then, I'm iffy.

    Sorry if this has already been mentioned, but I just read an ESPN+ article where 4/9 NFL Insiders predicted the Panthers will land Watson. The only other team to get more than 1 nod for Watson was the 49ers with 2.

    If Watson refuses to play for them, they will trade him. Its February folks.

    Don't know if I'd take Lance over Fields. Fields looked awesome against Clemson.

    EX-actly. That loss doesn't help, but I wouldn't hire him regardless. Not until he starts actually calling plays.

    I just get the feeling the Panthers are on his nice list. Whether they ever get a real shot to land him remains to be seen.

    I would not give away any 1st for any QB older than mid-20's. We are building for the future.

    Article in the Athletic today where the writer does not think Jones will be taken by the Panthers that high. Inside sources were not impressed with any of the Sr Bowl QBs.

    Jones had a good week at the Sr Bowl. He could easily be a top 10 pick. There is also a decent chance that he winds up being a better pro QB than Lance. Accuracy is the buzzword with Jones.

    That's too steep and would hurt us for years. Can't do it.

    I know its not ideal to have an immobile QB, I would rather have one with pinpoint accuracy than one who is just kinda good with throwing and kinda good with running. There are a ton of those out there.

    It'll change. Those who really want him are going to have to be patient. Are Panthers fans willing to roll the dice and and risk being stuck with Teddy for another year? This will likely linger way past the draft.

    Easy to say that in January. We will see how they feel in the summer, if it goes that long.

    Common sense says he is more likely to be shipped to an NFC team.

    He isnt going to be a long term answer. Not going to mortgage the future for him.

    If I traded CMC for Watson, it would not include much more. Maybe 1 first round pick. I'm not giving you CMC AND a slew of picks. Having CMC is like having 2 high level starters in 1 player.
