  1. They will probably alternate snaps b/t Mayfield and Darnold every play.
  2. Sorry if I missed this posted elsewhere, but just saw this: The battle to be the starting QB is still too close to call, but coach Matt Rhule likes how Mayfield has picked up the offense. "We test guys every day," he said. "His tests come back in the hundreds. He's a pros pro." -- David Newton That aligns with what was said coming in about Mayfield picking up playbooks quickly. I had seen a comment from college coaches that Mayfield has a "photographic memory".
  3. I will give Rhule some slack on this one, and I am a Pack fan. He may hang himself with it - we shall see.
  4. He did not fail 2 years ago. He was hurt last year and had inconsistent help from his OL and playmakers. I will reserve judgement.
  5. Reality is, Mayfield is still brand new to this offense, including the players, coaches, and playbook. He will get more comfortable as camp goes along. He still has nearly a month and a half to get ready for Game 1. He will be the starter.
  6. Doesn't sound like the WRs/RBs are doing BM any favors.
  7. Sure seems like Darnold has a slight early lead. Hopefully BM or MC can turn it on the rest of the way and take the job.
  8. Have to be able to run the ball. That sets up everything else we want to do.
  9. Thanks for the play-by-play, Falcon. First time I have seen it this camp.
  10. Quickest release in several years according to some.
  11. I am cool if you show up early, but if you don't give solid effort while you are at work, then I don't care when you came. Some old schoolers still view being early as some great thing in and of itself.
  12. HR would not be happy about him arriving early because he does not get paid for that time.
  13. Baker definitely seems to heat up as the practice went along. Getting some momentum perhaps.
  14. Not sure who the best QB is, but #9 is the best looking one of 3.
  15. Just waiting for a few weeks of camp to pass by.
  16. Glad we do not have to stress over rookie contracts any longer. I remember this like it was just a few years ago... Tshimanga Biakabutuka ended his 27-day holdout Friday, arriving in Charlotte with a bundle of money and a lot of work waiting for him. Biakabutuka signed a seven-year deal worth $12.653 million to play for the Carolina Panthers. He will not play tonight when the Panthers take on the Buffalo Bills in Ericsson Stadium, and his availability for the season-opener is also in question. The 22-year-old running back admitted he has a lot of catching up to do before he can even think about playing in the NFL. ``It's been tough, but I'm happy to be here as a Panther,' an unsmiling Biakabutuka said. ``The negotiations are over now.' As recently as a couple of days ago, it looked as if the rookie would never play in Charlotte. Biakabutuka held out through a bitter negotiation process during which barbs were lobbed between the Panthers and the rookie's agent, Carl Poston. The name-calling continued through Wednesday night, ending only after the two sides agreed to a truce. BIAKABUTUKA, PANTHERS END 27-DAY SIEGE\ ROOKIE SIGNS 7-YEAR DEAL FOR 12.653M | | greensboro.com
  17. I think that’s what he is insinuating. Kind of like they did with Darnold last preseason. Personally, I hope they let all the QBs play.
  18. Football 101 Obviously, our defense had room for improvement, but it was going to be hard to succeed being on the field all the time. When you keep putting the opposing offense on the field in the NFL, most will start scoring points.
