Panthers receive permission to interview Sean Payton
Wolfcop replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'd give them a billion of Tepper's dollars, but not a top 10 draft pick. -
Tepper enamored with Ben Johnson per Person

I mean, how does this stuff even get out? It does not benefit the organization to have this kind of news leak. -
I can't imagine they would fire Staley to hire a 1-2 year OC.
-
Something just feels wrong about interviewing a Broncos DC.
-
Some QBs blossom faster than others. Trey Lance did not have Christian McCaffrey, either. I'm not saying he is definitely destined for greatness, but he may be. There have been many QBs to have it click for them a little later.
-
Yeah, the sample size is too small to know how good he might become.

It would stink to have to cut Wilks loose. I am very torn. I could be convinced to keep Wilks and pair him with stud coordinators. However, the thought of a fresh offensively-minded HC is exciting.
-
To each his own, but it would be a HUGE gamble for him to return to OSU.

Possibly with the first round of interviews. There will be another round more than likely since some were virtual (Steichen for example). The normal timeline to hire a coach is late Jan - early Feb.
-
One thing is for sure, he is a likable guy and a good motivator.

M Kaye Observer HC candidates pros and cons

I was mad at Wilks after TB, but I could get behind him with the right coordinators (OC AND DC). -
I mentioned the Reich OC thing yesterday. Have a feeling that will be the plan if Wilks is hired.
-
I like Chris Simms' QB breakdown. He picked Coral as his #1 last year. I hope he turns out to be right.

Any good leader will discuss important decisions with their spouse. It gives you a different perspective on matters. As she is an official part of the staff, it makes even more sense. Ultimately, he will make the decision.

Steichen has a much better resume and is more proven than Ben Johnson.

Report: Panthers to interview Jim Caldwell, Frank Reich
Wolfcop replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
Jim Caldwell may be the advisor that Tepper needs to help guide the hiring decision. Reich is probably under more consideration as an OC. -
We also beat Tampa.

I’ve been excited about about AR since seeing him against FSU. I’d roll the dice on him paired with a QB guru.

Beating the Saints cost us 1 draft slot after all
Wolfcop replied to Peon Awesome's topic in Carolina Panthers
I’d agree with that. Nice to end the season with a win, too. -
STEVE WILKS - FINAL POLL THREAD
Wolfcop replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
Not sure how you can give the guy a B the way our defense lost the game last week…on the same damn go route 3 times. -

STEVE WILKS - FINAL POLL THREAD
Wolfcop replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
I keep seeing the media say that the fans want Wilks back. I don’t think that is accurate. I mean, look at the results of this poll for example. -
If by some chance Wilks stays, we need 2 new coordinators.
-
Exactly where I am. Who knew Jalen Hurts could be a top 5 QB? I’d roll the dice on AR before I’d sell the farm for Stroud or Young.

Reich may be considered as OC.
