  1. Let's show some patience. Whether Watson plays for us this year or not will not matter at all in the long run. Trade a 4th for stache. Let Minshew and Teddy battle it out. It will be a year-long drama for the whiny crowd. Then we trade back and accumulate picks. A future first and an extra 3rd. We grab at T, G/C, CB, and TE in rounds 1-3. WR and LB in the 5th. All of the sudden we look ok. Meanwhile Houston is exactly where they are today. With or without Watson playing, they will probably go 4-12 again. If Houston goes 4-12 again, they will have a nice pick for drafting a new QB. They will be ready to move on from the disgruntled Watson who is still demanding a trade. Teddy will be off the books and we'll be right there waiting for them with our 2 2022 firsts and whatever else they may need.
  2. Kind of jazzed about this one... 19. Alijah Vera-Tucker OT USC 51. Creed Humphrey OC Oklahoma 81. Chazz Surratt LB North Carolina 90. Amari Rodgers WR Clemson 135. Robert Rochell CB Central Arkansas 142. Chuba Hubbard RB Oklahoma State 185. Robert Hainsey OG Notre Dame 2022 Washington 1st 2022 Minnesota 2nd 2022 Miami 5th
  3. I agree. Wait for Fields or Lance to fall. Both are too raw for some win-now team to move up for them. Hell, Lance probably won't even play next year. If they are both gone, take one of the LTs. If both gone, that means we either get a difference maker TE, WR, or trade back for an extra second. Don't get in such a hurry. Continue to build. We'll be back in the top 10 next year and will be in better shape to move for our guy. Meanwhile explore Darnold, Trubisky, Minshew, etc. They are all young and could develop into something good. Offer a 2-year contract with an out after 1 year to see what happens. Meanwhile try to trade Teddy for a 3rd or 4th. Colts, WFT, NE all have tons of cap and may see Teddy as just what they need. He had his moments.
  4. Well if you are right and he sucks, maybe we can kick the tires when he gets cut. No way GB keeps him around for his potential right?
  5. This could be a win for both teams. SF is in a win now mode - they just need a guy that is steady, doesn't make a lot of mistakes, and can stay healthy. Teddy can be a decent game manager. With the defense and Kittle, he might have some success. He wouldn't need to put up 30 every week to have a shot at winning. Jimmy is much better (if healthy). If we get an extra 2nd, this will allow us to move up a bit and grab our developmental QB to sit for a year. I think the panthers will get one of the big 4, but will want to sit him a while to learn the ropes.
  6. I understand your point but respectively disagree. I do not like Matt Ryan at all. But the guy plays 16 games every year and puts up sick numbers. I believe he's missed 1 game in the last 10 years. Barring a serious injury, he could easily play into his 40s. To expend that much draft capital (not to mention salary of 8 mil per year) on a Fields or Wilson that will likely rot for 3+ years and still potentially bust instead of a true difference-maker that could help your team win now makes no sense.
  7. I've been wanting to target him as well. Maybe we can switch 1sts with the packers and they can throw in their 3rd as well. Love and 4 picks in the first 3 rounds sounds good to me.
  8. Interesting...but out of the box thinking is frowned upon in these parts.
  9. Good lord guys, Atlanta is not picking a QB at 4. Ryan completed 65% of his passes for over 4500 yards with 26 TDs and 11 Ints. He played all 16 games. They have many needs and have a chance to get a stud, why pick a QB to sit on the bench and potentially be a bust? Makes no sense. Further, all these rising teams looking for a QB to make a run such as SF, Indy, Washington, will not move up to 3 or 4 because it would be extremely expensive and what they really need is a vet, not some kid QB that has to learn the ropes. I think Denver will jump us to go get Wilson and Detroit may have interest in Lance, but I suspect Fields will be sitting there at 8.
  10. I would question Rhule's overall intelligence and leadership ability if we had lost the Washington game. We were gifted 4 turnovers and a special teams TD. Washington was abysmal out there. we were already playing without CMC and if Bridgewater is as bad as everyone says, he should be the perfect guy to go out and suck. And make no mistake, TB did suck that day. Less than 200 yds passing, 1 TD, i Int, and sacked 4 times. He did his part to lose that game. I realize people want a high draft choice and I was hoping for a 4-12 mark as well going into that game. But you can't throw away your integrity like that. We're not the Jags or Eagles.
  11. I’d give TB and 8 for Stafford and 72. Grab a T and CB in the 2nd, a G/C in the third, WR in 4th and let’s go. Stafford has 5 good years left. That’s plenty of time to find and groom his eventual replacement. In the meantime we have a shot of making the playoffs every year.
  12. Said it before - If Trey Lance is not sitting there at 8 (and I believe he will be) then trade #8 to GB for their 1st, 2nd and Jordan Love. Many were projecting Love in the top 15 last year. It probably did not hurt his development too much sitting behind Rogers for a year. I think he could come here and start by mid-season.
  13. This is out of the box, but what if we swapped #8 with Green Bay for Jordan Love, a first and a second. We get our promising young quarterback with a season of watching Rogers for a year, plus a couple picks in the prime offensive line / LB / CB spots. Teddy and Love can compete for QB duties before handing over the reins in 2022. GB can get one of the stud WRs for Rogers to play with for 2-3 years until he retires.
