  1. didn't slayton have a really bad year in NYG? who was it that barely played that was making all that money?
  2. They’re just networking for the Hopkins trade
  3. so he can miserably whine and post on here 24/7
  4. Looking forward to seeing the ban hammer slammed on bandu
  5. If you'd have asked me last year I'd have laughed in your face...but yes - for the right price (vet minimum). I'd love to keep him around to further develop Icky.
  6. This is the most overblown topic on this board. We don't need to rush out day 1 of tampering and try to find that "veteran presence!1!11!11!!!" when our QB coach just hung up his cleats after like 15 years of being a journeyman backup/vet presence. From a mentorship perspective we are fine. Obviously McCown isn't going to play on Sundays so we'll fill that void - it's just not the priority it was in 2011 when we were in a similar spot. And no, you don't draft a QB #1 overall after trading up for him to sit and be ready. Stroud and Young are Day 1 starters. Regardless I still expect us to sign Jacoby Brissett once he realizes the market is bare and wants to reunite with Reich.
  7. And when we cut Eiflen into oblivion we’ll have even more
  8. @TheCasillasnvm. You’re right. He’s an RFA. either way, my stance on a day 1 vet backup remains lol
  9. Yes he is. He re-signed last month. Why else would this fluff article of him talking about Frank Reich exist? https://amp.charlotteobserver.com/sports/nfl/carolina-panthers/article272220658.html
  10. I don’t see it as a day 1 of tampering priority given the makeup of our staff. We’ll end up getting someone like Brissett.
  11. PJ Walker is under contract as is Matt Corral. Obviously neither one of them will be THE backups come August, but there is 0 reason to rush out day 1 trying to find a “vet backup” when the makeup of your coaching staff is littered with former QBs and the position coach literally just finished playing as a journeyman vet backup. If your backup plays on Sundays, you are already screwed.
  12. You don’t sign a vet backup to play on Sundays. we have a backup if the need arises, two of them actually. We don’t need to rush out and sign one day 1 of tampering.
  13. Josh Mccown is pretty much a vet backup
  14. I doubt it. He's done next to nothing since his rookie year (albeit he's been out of position) and this coaching staff doesn't owe him anything. They don't need to run anything by him.
  15. isn't hayden hurst also going to be a FA?
  16. by comparison to another RB that we are very familiar with and who received a contract extension the same year that Ekeler did - Ekeler is a bargain
  17. There's two years of him showing up elite level processing. All he needs to do is come out throw dots (which he will).
  18. By that logic, why would the Texans want Anthony Richardson?
