Do you really think Rhule rode with Baker by choice? I mean PJ is one of his favorites and yet he didn't let him start or pull Mayfield. That tells you all you need to know.

The scary part is the chatter that he isn't a place holder. I really sound like I'm dissing the man and I'm not but this team needs smart experienced coaching. Someone I like is Shane Steichen from the eagles who worked with both Hurbert and Hurts and would likely be picking a QB for us next draft.

If Steve Wilks and Dan Quinn are your front runners we are in big trouble. Neither of those guys knows how to turn around a bad team. If SFs best choice is Quinn he needs to go with Rhule as well. We don't need bad retreads.

I'm not buying the hopium here. This team is badly flawed. For one he doesn't have a competent QB, two our defense is too light in the ass, three our offensive players don't fit McAdoos system. I respect Wilks and think this will be another good step for him to take over a team he can make his but he alone isn't going to make this work and he doesn't have the skills to rebuild what Rhule failed at. Winning in the NFL is very hard and you have to have great minds to do it. I remember being extremely excited we picked up McDermott. The way he kicked our ass when Fox was around showed how bright he was and he didn't disappoint. We need a guy like that and while Wilks is a good DB coach his time as a DC was not spectacular. Nor was his time in AZ for that matter.

Tepper had bad people around him from the jump. Buffalo had already gutted our talent and Rivera and Hurney left us with a terrible situation both in personal and in the FO. Hurney should have been canned with Rivera so he could have went with Rivera and performed terribly in Washington. As we sit right now Tepper needs to find a HC and GM he can trust and finding a consultant to help wouldn't be a terrible idea. He needs bright minds and I don't think he's experienced enough to do it alone.

I wouldn't mind trading down to grab him but it's going to really depend on who's coaching. Definitely not a Cam Newton in this draft.

Players try to make the NFL seem so mystical but it's not. It's a business run like one and if you can't produce you get canned. The biggest hit to this team was Tepper was wrong about Rhule. Now how is going to react.

Tbh I thought Teppers ego was big till someone introduced me to Scott Fowler.

He's one of the reasons a good coach could have us in the playoffs in two years.

That's another good reason not to have him.

I'm not going to sit here and say Tepper doesn't deserve it a little bit but he is a new owner. Got to cut the man some slack all he's done is take Ls with the Panthers.

Because it's known around the league that Andy Reed is the one that controls the offense and comes up with all the schemes. Bienemy chooses the plays but that's it. It's also been known that PM hates him and Reed has to play peacemaker between the two. He's just a new version of Hue Jackson with less genius.

I don't want Wilks or Quinn. Let's get someone who has a clue about offense. I really don't want Payton but looking at what Moore is doing for the Cowboys and what Ryan is doing for the 49ers how do you go with a guy who lost a SB in a horrible way and another who has spent 1 year as a NFL DC and 1 year as a coach. Not really awe inspiring. Fans need a coach they can believe in. I mean if we are going to hire Quinn we might as well hire Leslie Frazier or Raheem Morris.

Yeah it was an odd pairing. I really doubt Wilks is going to be able to pull this unit out of where it is. It's not like they were slacking or underperforming. I like zone blitzing when done right but almost all our CBs are man coverage guys. I guess we will see how it plays out.

Define what is close. If close is a good core to build around? Yes we do have more core players than we started with. Is close playoffs? No this roster needs a bit of retooling for that to happen. Also talking about resource management is a bit hypocritical because Rhule got full control over who was retained. Like Robbie Anderson getting a sweetheart deal and DJ Moore getting less. I honestly don't even know why Tepper hired a GM because Rhules Wife had more say than Fitt.

Rightfully so but I think Tepper actually realized that's exactly how the fans felt and it was time to dump the bad stock. I liked the anger. Defeatist don't get angery they just give you word salad. It's also very hard to pull real truth because he spent 90% of the time avoiding headlines from bait questions from the media. I do miss a time when people could be more truthful and you got a better picture but that time is way gone.
