  1. Even without hindsight the Darnold trade had major red flags from the get go. Even if the Jets are a mess, Darnold had 4 years of tape with little to be happy about. Worst of all is what happened next. Not fixing the OL when a one was available at our pick in the first. Then the worst being exercising Darnold’s option. All in all if I was Rhule my biggest regret is not going after the best QB possible that I liked no matter what. Coaches live and die by their QBs just ask RR yet Rhule just seemed not to give a fug.
  2. Jesus Christ….when you spell it out like this it’s like reading a horror story.
  3. If that scenario were to play out whether Tepper fired Rhule now or later the season would a wash for a third straight year.
  4. I can imagine going 0-2 will lead to more of these stories….
  5. The common denominator, control variable, ie Rhule….
  6. For me getting Teddy wax inexcusable. You would think a new nfl coach would prioritize getting his guy even if it was a rookie from Temple but he didn’t. Treated it like any other position and it showed when we went after Darnold and even exercised Darnold’s option. From the get go Rhule was showing his ass but Tepper thinks it’s Rhule saying “hi” in French.
  7. For me it was getting Teddy B. A new nfl coach who doesn’t take the QB position seriously was always a red flag. And surprise surprise Rhule hasn’t made be good decision at QB yet.
  8. When Tepper gave Rhule that 7 year deal and that off-season press conference last season about the long term process shows that Tepper is drinking the kool-aid. Sad he has Rhule spiked the bowl for the rest of us.
  9. The scary thing is I think this is exactly what he has planned.
  10. Frankly I can’t fathom why Rhule was allowed a third year after the sheer incompetence shown last season. I’m starting to think Tepper has realized he needs his shiny QB and Rhule is the man to tank him to the #1 pick.
  11. People better mentally prepare themselves for Pickett. He’s a former Temple player and a fellow Pitt alumni like Tepper. It’s almost inevitable….
  12. Since I hated our last round 1 QB pick there is a good chance Pickett turns into a league MVP.
