  1. 2015 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report: DARYL WILLIAMS, OT, OKLAHOMA At 6-5-327, Williams obviously has NFL size, and he was able to use it at the collegiate level to drive defenders of the line of scrimmage. There were no real questions about his strength coming out of college. However, some have questioned Williams' athleticism and posited that he might end up at guard. But Williams somewhat silenced those questions with an impressive performance at the combine including an an impressive 1.75 10-yard split. If a team thinks Williams has the athleticism to go with his size, he could potentially be a late first round pick. For now the safer money is probably on a second round selection. Draft Prediction: Second Round http://fftoolbox.scout.com/nfl_draft/profile_display.cfm?prospect_id=18646 The top two pics are Loadholt (who went 2nd R/#54 overall) The bottom pic is Williams....
  2. OLine Charting @OlineCharting: 2015 Top 5 Tackles based on Win/Neutral % 1) Andrus Peat 2) Daryl Williams <-------------- 3) Jake Fisher 4) Cedric Ogbuehi 5) Ereck Flowers methodology: "This website is devoted to charting NFL Draft offensive lineman prospects collegiate games...looking at whether they win or if they lose the snap. There is no emphasis on how they get the job done, as long as they do get it done. A player could have terrible form but seal the block, and that will count as a win. Likewise, a player could have perfect form and allow a sack, qualifying as a loss. A play will be counted as neutral if the player’s block had no impact on the outcome of the play i.e. quick screen." https://offensivelinecharting.wordpress.com/ Scout.com: "After first appearing in nine games as a reserve tackle during his true freshman season in 2011, Williams started the first ten games on the 2012 schedule before missing three contests with a knee injury. He lined up at right tackle for the first 12 games on the 2013 schedule before moving to left tackle for the Sugar Bowl clash vs. Alabama. He earned second-team All-Big Twelve Conference honors after posting 60 knockdowns and nine touchdown-resulting blocks as a junior. In 2014, Williams remained at right tackle all season, as the All-Big Twelve first-team choice and squad captain collected 91 knockdowns and led the way on 11 touchdown-resulting runs." http://recruiting.scout.com/story/1518385-deep-draft-analysis-offensive-linemen#/story/1518385-deep-draft-analysis-offensive-linemen NFL.com: "An NFC scout said Oklahoma right tackle Daryl Williams reminds him of former Sooner and Minnesota Vikings 2009 second-round pick (#54 overall) Phil Loadholt. "(Williams) is more agile and lighter on his feet, but his punch and force is similar to (Loadholt's)," the scout said. The comparison fits. Williams can be a dominant run blocker and has really stepped up as a leader for the Oklahoma offensive line" http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000407596/article/sources-tell-us-what-were-hearing-about-top-nfl-prospects On January 14, 2014, ProFootballFocus.com recognized Loadholt as one of their highest-rated offensive tackles in the NFL, stating, "Stud: Right tackle Phil Loadholt (+25.0) earned All-Pro honors in our eyes. He didn’t get the press he garnered last year as the team struggled but he remains the prototypical right tackle." https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2014/01/13/2013-offensive-line-rankings/4/ Both wore #79 at Oklahoma. 3. ex-scout Bryan Broaddus shares his thoughts on the OL at the combine : "Just watching these offensive line workouts, it appears that there are more candidates to line up on the right side than on the left, which could help the Cowboys in case they have to go that direction. The tackles that worked out well enough to consider on that left side were T.J. Clemmings, Jake Fisher, Laurence Gibson (of VT) and D.J. Humphries. I wouldn’t be afraid to put anyone of these guys I mentioned on the right side as well." http://www.dallascowboys.com/news/2015/02/21/scout’s-eye-notes-and-observations-offensive-line-and-tight-end-groups

  5. Ourlads (which is used by pro scouts and personnel) has us taking Jake Fisher at #25, writing: "For Cam Newton ever to realize his full potential there needs to be a sense of protection in front of him. Fisher is not underrated in the NFL scouting circles and projects to be a long time starter." already off the board were Peat, Flowers, La'el, Scherff and Erving http://www.ourlads.com/nfl-mock-draft/mock/2015/ourlads-mock-draft-1.0-pre-combine/81
  6. South Florida Sun-Sentinel Omar Kelly @ OmarKelly Feb 6 This Texas A&M cornerback Deshazor Everett is very fluid. South Florida Sun-Sentinel Omar Kelly @ OmarKelly Feb 7 One of the athletes I really liked at Bommarito's was Texas A&M's Deshazor Everett . He stops on a dime & gives change
  7. at Texas A&M's Pro Day today... Tony Pauline of DraftInsider.net: "Deshazor Everett - I'm told he looked smooth and very fluid in all the drills besides running faster than many expected. After the workout, Everett met with the Tampa Bay Bucs, Carolina Panthers and Houston Texans." http://walterfootball.com/proday.php he wasn't invited to the combine, but at aTm's Pro Day today he did great: GoodBullHunting.com Justin Kaspar @ Ranger222 7h Deshazor Everett made him some money today. Great all around numbers from Pro Day. Fort Worth Star-Telegram Charean Williams @ NFLCharean 3h A&M CB Deshazor Everett had 38-inch vertical, 10-10 broad, 6.78 three-cone and 4.49 in the 40. TexAgs @ TexAgs 9h Deshazor Everett posted a 38” vertical leap, which would’ve tied him for 8th at the NFL Combine. Tony Pauline of DraftInsider.net: "Many were surprised when cornerback Deshazor Everett was not invited to the combine, and he justified that surprise today. His marks included 4.47-second time in the 40, a 6.78-second time in the three-cone drill, a vertical jump of 38 inches and 10-10 in the broad jump. Over the past two days, Everett has met privately with the San Francisco 49ers, Miami Dolphins and Chicago Bears." http://walterfootball.com/proday.php he's the guy that got this famous game-clinching INT at #1 Alabama in 2012... http://youtu.be/OaED035QwlI
  8. Florida has no income taxes, but the overall tax burden of living in Florida is just middle of the road, around #25 of the 50 states. Best overall tax burden of those five teams would be Texas, which is Top 10. Plus, AP grew up a huge Cowboy fan not far from Dallas
  9. both AP and Lovie Smith were born and raised in small Texas towns located just 70 miles from each other...and they both played college football in Oklahoma, where they were both All-Americans Also, both Peterson's dad and the new OC of the Bucs (Dirk Koetter) were at Idaho State in the early 1980s, where one was on the basketball team (AP's dad) and the other on the football team (Koetter)
  10. more reactions on a Bills forum: Somebody kill me please , this move just killed the confidence I had in this team Wow . I hope no . . . Just . . . . No !!! If this is true, then I hope there is something coming back with Shady . No disrespect to him , but this would be a horrible trade if it is straight up player for player . This is crazy. . . The draft is coming up . . . BTW the best draft for running backs in the last 10 years probably . Why do we always choose to do things like this when it isn ' t the right time . . . If we traded Kiko for Foles , I could see the move , there aren ' t many QB ' s in the draft this year and Foles is inexpensive . Trading a quality 3 down LB and paying top dollar for the player you get in return just doesn ' t make a lot of sense to me . McCoy is a very good player but in the grand scheme of things , how many great seasons does he have left ??? He is 27 when the season starts . . . He might give us 3 good seasons. . . Kiko would likely given us twice that many seasons . If we wanted a back that bad we could have thrown money at Murray who is the same age and will likely have 2 - 3 good seasons I him . You said there is no guarantee we would get Murray , I disagree , there aren ' t many teams willing to dump 11 mil per on a RB. McCoy only averaged a bit over four ypc last year , and was pretty well shut down in several games ( Bills better continue working on that OL ) . Not bashing him - - - I just don ' t see the value in the position matching that of a promising linebacker in today ' s NFL . Especially when this year ' s draft is so deep at the RB position . i was thinking from the end of the season that the Eagles were going to cut McCoy anyways . McCoy will be 27 . . so we will be lucky to get 3 good seasons out of him Saw A possibility of Kiko to Philadelphia but for Nick Foles My problem with this deal isn ' t getting McCoy it ' s paying top dollar for him . We ' re always sell low and buying high . Complementary moves can still make this trade a success, but I ' m puzzled Whaley keeps paying double for the flashy toys . Buying a Porche would also be cool but not if you pay 2 mil for it . I want the Bills to get a player like Lynch for a 4 th . Not trade our up and coming LB for a 10 mil contract. I want for once to not overpay . Ask the Vikings how little 1500 all purpose yards matters when translating that into wins. Three things matter when it comes to being a good team : a good defense , a good quarterback , and a smart offensive scheme. Playmakers at Rb are luxuries I don ' t freaking believe this . . . An every down Lber that was pretty much rookie of the year and had an outstanding season at his position . . . and we trade it for an aging running back . This cant be real life . I am done with Whaley if this happens We should have a pick or two coming back in this trade . This is a terrible move this is why we are so bad. . . . we put too much value into Rbs There is no doubt McCoy is great , but he has some wear and tear on him now . There is a reason that RBs are like the shortest lasting position in the league . Kiko is just a killer. I also don ' t care that our linebackers had an OK season . Kiko was better in coverage then they were . Now we have zero depth at Lber . ... They could have drafted a RB. They could have picked up a RB in FA . Instead they trade away our best LBer for 12 mil in salary more then half aged RB. What an awful trade . We could have gotten a very good RB in the 2 nd - 3 rd Round - who is 5 years younger and doesn ' t take up a third of our available cap space . Between this trade and the probably loss of Jerry Hughes , this team has taken a huge nosedive over the last 2 weeks . Yuck ! How long is he going to be good for ? 2 maybe 3 years? He is 27 and not many running backs do well once they hit 30 . He is in years that he will start to decline . Kiko is just getting started and doesn' t cost 12 mil to the cap. Plenty of running backs can be had without trade and without paying 12 mil . They may not be the best but we don ' t need the best . This trade is more handicapped than the Watkins trade up . . . And that one had full blown Down Syndrome . . . I ' ll just ask again : why wouldn ' t we have just drafted a running back in one of the deepest rb drafts in years? Here ' s the bills : in a terribly weak qb draft they draft a qb , and in a deep rb draft they trade for a rb . . . . . Down syndrome doesn ' t go far enough Trading Kiko for a QB would make sense , but this deal is just unacceptable. Bye bye Hughes . The cap hit makes this effectively a Hughes and Alonso for McCoy trade Watch Hughes and Spiller sign with Philly now . . . McCoy for Kiko , Hughes , and Spiller . . . I couldn ' t hate this trade more if I tried . Awful trade , one of the worst in Bills history . No explanation for this . No excuse . just awful Terrible trade this is a huge blunder . WHAT THE **** IF Whaley did this on his own he should be gone . I ' m kinda thinkin ' fire Whaley now 100%. . . bad , bad bad
  11. NFL.com: "It was essentially a salary cap dump ... The fact they got back a promising young defensive starter almost feels like a bonus. McCoy is on the books for $24.25 million over the next three years. Alonso is due $1.7 million over the next two seasons. ... Alonso is also joining a better organization and a better linebacker group than the one he left. Mychal Kendricks and Alonso should be one of the fastest interior linebacker duos in the league, assuming Alonso recovers well from last July's ACL surgery. ... DeMeco Ryans : The trusty inside linebacker is likely the next Eagles veteran to be let go. He is coming off a torn Achilles' tendon and due a huge salary. ... Philadelphia's anticipated release of pass rusher Trent Cole will net them $8 million in cap space, putting them $40 million under the salary cap. McCoy had an $11.95 million cap number, and the Bills will now pay his $9.5 million salary. In short: Philadelphia has a truckload of money to re-sign the players they want ( Jeremy Maclin ?) and spend in free agency. And Chip Kelly is not afraid to spend ... LeSean McCoy : He will keep his salary, but he will have to try to replicate his production with an inferior offensive line. New Bills offensive coordinator Greg Roman loves to run the ball, but Buffalo is learning a brand new scheme again. And they are still searching for a quarterback. It's a step down" http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000476256/article/winners-and-losers-from-lesean-mccoy-trade
  12. NFL.com : "The Eagles ' willingness to part with McCoy is a stunner on the surface, but this is essentially a salary dump in which the return value is a young linebacker with Pro Bowl potential. Chip Kelly was reluctant to devote $11.95 million in cap space to McCoy after watching the 26-year-old's production drop from 5.1 yards per carry and 10.4 yards per reception to 4.2 and 5.5, respectively. After being phased out of the passing game in favor of Darren Sproles early in the season, McCoy forfeited short-yardage work to Chris Polk down the stretch. In other words, McCoy was too often on the sidelines in critical situations. With McCoy's role diminished and his effectiveness waning, the Eagles reached the conclusion that it was better to pull the cord a year early than a year too late. ... As long as Alonso returns to pre-injury form, the Eagles will boast one of the NFL's speediest inside linebacker duos in Alonso and Mychal Kendricks . http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000476192/article/eagles-bills-to-swap-lesean-mccoy-for-kiko-alonso
  13. and more reactions from a Bills forum: What a terrible trade this would be . Beyond shocked that this was even considered , no less possibly actually happening . Chip Kelly just cashed in bigtime , he just dumped McCoy for one of the best young prospects at LB in the NFL and will then fill McCoys spot with Spiller or some other RB and won ' t miss a beat , in fact Philly just got better while we just added yet another back to a team filled with backs while losing a great young prospect at LB and to top it off sealed 1 st round pick Spillers fate here . We lose two players, this hurt the Bills , this was a bad, bad trade . Why wouldn ' t you just draft a running back ? Look at shadys contract . . . look at kikos contract. You could have offered Murray a tad less than the shady contract and he would have signed the first day of FA . Then for the same price you would have KiKo and Murray . So can anyone with a clear mind saying the trade makes sense ? Murray and KiKo are greater than having Shady . I hate Murray but . . . with eyes wide open . . . come on maaaaaan . Lets see how good McCoy is without the threat of a passing game . How is McCoy behind a **** ty line ? Still good right ? does this move eat up 33 % of our cap space ? Please tell me Im reading this wrong. people don ' t want to overpay for a good young pass rusher but THAT much on a rb ? kiko seemed to be our best shot at someone who could cover gronk ! I would hate it if this trade happened . Wow . . . this is a tough one . McCoy is a hell of a back . . . talk about stopping on a dime . This guy is as elusive as it gets and is a fantastic pass catcher . On the other hand . . . his contract is enormous , and we gave up a good , young LB who is on a rookie deal . I ' m torn on this TBH . Guess time will tell how I feel on it . Hopefully Shady is a difference maker for at least 3 years. we are one of the dumbest organizations ever LeSean is a great RB. But he is 27 and has a lot of tread on the tires . Not a good combination for his productivity or longevity on the Bills. Maybe worst is his cap hit . We just lost a third of our cap space . I ' ll see how the rest of FA shakes out but this is a terrible start . Terrible. so we trade for a soon to be 27 yr old rb ? dont get me wrong i love shady but hes got how many elite years left ? 3 at most ? meanwhile we gave up our young stud lb coming into a draft where theres depth to the rb class . just shocking Worst trade ever . my problem is dynamic rb ' s have been the bread and butter of this franchise that hasn ' t done much . they don ' t seem to make a difference in the w - l column no matter how well they do . if it was foles, id have no problem , as it is a desperate need but go through the list of our great rb ' s and you still have losses . Some people have no idea what it takes to have a good football team. We trade Lynch who is one of the best RB in football for a 4 th rounder pick . We just traded a Stud LB for a dime a dozen RB. Well that move keeps us up with the Browns and Raiders for sure . Not sure how I feel about this . Someone convince me it is a good trade . I personally would not trade a promising young LB for a RB ( even though the D was great without Kiko ) . RB' s are really a dime a dozen- - - value just isn ' t there . most of the posts on a couple Eagles boards I ' ve read like this move a lot more than Bills fans seem to . my wife just told me this happened . what the **** is going on ?
  14. and more reactions from a Bills forum: draft loaded with wrs, trade up . draft loaded with Rb ' s trade one of your best Lbs for one , I am lost with these guys . Better spend money on that Oline now , trading Kiko to run up the middle behind Urbik or Cyril would be hilarious The only thing that I don ' t like is that we lost 1 / 3 of our cap space on a RB. McCoy cost us a 3 down LB and about 10 mil more in cap space . Why not just go sign Murray ? It just seems like we paid on both ends . . Shady is a good player no doubt and the Bills were good without Kiko last year , But why would trade for that contract and get rid of a stud LB . Makes no sense I can' t say I Like this trade . Rb ' s are a dime a dozen . Look how good fred was and he wasn ' t even drafted . Draft younger wheels with way less miles and pay them dirt or trade away a stud for a big contract and bring back a guy who has as many miles as anyone the past 5 years. Yeah not good . I' m going to have to believe the Bills knew something about Kiko' s knee and made the move accordingly. Otherwise , if I have to watch him lead Philly ' s D for the next decade I ' m going to be pissed . One thing I ' m now sure of is we ' re signing a LB ' er and G /T in the opening days of FA. It ' s a virtual lock . It ' s too bad we gave up an asset for a top running back when we will have a shot at demarco Murray in free agency . This is the stupidest trade the Buffalo Bills have ever made . We are about to lose Hughes as well . You can get a RB at any time , just ask the Patriots who grab a new one cheap every year . McCoy is no Barry Sanders or Thurman Thomas . He ' s 27 which is 100 in NFL years for a young prospect LB Eagles fans are laughing uncontrollably, why didn ' t Whaley give them our 2 nd round pick as well . This has to be a joke . My team won ' t pay 8 mill for a safety or pass rusher but will pay 11 mill for a running back . . . *** We have plenty of depth at RB, we have NO depth at LB Just gave away one killer LB , for a washed up back no better then whats here . . . What a joke, Whaley needs to be fired screw you front office. . . this trade is *****ic at best and suicidal at worst . . . why trade kiko ( all pro / probowl level talent ) and his reasonable salary for mccoy and his 12 M / year salary ???? nearly 1800 touches not counting preseason for shady . . . this is a horrible trade unless Kiko is going to retire and never play again . . . philly should be giving us mccoy because we are willing to take him with that kind of salary . . . here is a thought save the difference in $ $ between the two and give it to the FA RB of your choice i' m sure for that kind of money we could afford Murray even because running backs can be found in late rounds/ UDFA . . . the one in Denver is a prime example . . . first round RB' s are pointless these days . If this is real , can we all agree that Whaley has no clue what he ' s doing ?
  15. more reactions from a Bills forum: Shady is about to be public enemy number 1 . He better show up to play. Thats for sure . A 3 down LBer is invaluable in today ' s game . Especially one as skilled as Alonso . RB' s , even as skilled as McCoy , are not difference makers in a passing league . Eagles *** rape the Bills in this deal. This is a crap move . Trade a great young defensive player for a position that is a dime a dozen all while we have no quarterback . He' s a great back , but I would ' ve been happier with Kiko and a RB in the draft . Stupid **** ing *****s . I ' ve been defending Whaley but man this is undefendable i said it before . . . Whaley is a bad GM Whaley needs to be gone by midnight This is the worst move I have ever heard of . All faith in this FO is gone . I am so **** ing mad right now I could spit ****ing nails. RB' s are not as valuable as a good LBer . . . especially a LBer that is good in coverage . like people have been saying a good LB is harder to find than a RB Who the **** is responsible for this nonsense ? Why would they do this ? There ' s a few thing wrong with it but for me the biggest thing is your trading for a HB that has tread on his tires when this is the deepest position in the draft . This was a stupid move . . . Period . You trade for an 11 million dollar RB?? Why not just sign Spiller ? That eats up a bunch of cap space . . Whaley has completely lost me with this move . Is McCoy a great player, sure he is but we traded away a great LB and paid top dollar to do so . Why not just go get Murray ? He likely would cost less and we would still have Kiko . Whaley got taken to the cleaners last year by the Eagles , they figured they would go to the well again I guess. For the record , McCoy is a heck of a back but this is not smart IMO . Running back is not the problem . This does not help the bills and now they take a huge cap hit I ' m not on board with the move . McCoy is a nice upgrade at RB but IMO Alonso will be a franchise linebacker for years. If Buffalo was going to trade him , Try to get a QB like Bradford or a high draft pick . We could have easily addressed the RB need with a 2 nd or 3 rd round pick this year . If they just traded Kiko straight up for McCoy then Whaley needs to be fired right on the spot . That would be by far the dumbest move by OBD in the entire history of badly run team. Now if Foley is included I might not be so mad even though they are reaching hard and to get rid of Kiko is completely nuts . If this is true , Kiko for McCoy straight up , they better fire Whaley ASAP . My cousin is dogging me right now , shes an Eagles fan
  16. reactions on a Bills forum: Is LeSean Worth Kiko AND a Ten Million Dollar Free Agent? Thats the question I have . LeSean makes about ten million dollars a year more than Kiko . So we could have had Kiko and whatever free agent you can get for ten million dollars a year . Or we could have LeSean . Personally I would take Kiko and the ten million dollar man . Is the Eagles 1st round pick involved ? Cause if not , this trade is absurd ! McCoy is set to make $ 10 mill this year ! Kiko was set to be a beast making , what , $ 1 mill ? RB' s are a freaking dime a dozen in today ' s NFL ! Elite LB ' s are not ! Absurd. Shady is on the downside of his career ; Kiko is a rising star . I don ' t like this trade at all . I strongly dislike this trade . I live in Philly. Eagles fans are laughing at us . Again . I work in sports media and everyone is laughing at me / us . SHADY WAS LIKELY GOING TO GET CUT ANYWAY . We traded a rising star LB for a RB on who ' s on the downside of his career and making $ 11 mil a year in a QB driven league ( still don ' t have one of those , BTW) . Shady has had more carries than anybody in the league over the last 2 seasons. He' s 27 , but been in the league since 20 or 21 and has a lot of mileage. Bad trade . When you have 30 million to spend and you spend 10 mil of that on a rb on a team that has not had a solid starting qb now in nearly 20 yrs , yea it has been a ongoing joke. Nothing surprises me anymore . I would not be surprised if the bills never again make the playoffs . terrible move . this team is so much better suited for a 4 - 3 . wish we would have hired hue jackson and kept scwartz . our lbs would be set for 10 years with kiko - preston - nigel . whaley has set this organization back another 5 years. Bills can' t help themselves but make terrible moves every 3 years in regards to their RBs . I refuse to believe we did this . Running backs are a dime a dozen and solid linebackers are not . excuse me , I gotta go vomit Seriously, if this is legit , then I am livid and move right to the head of the Fire Whaley fanclub . Really stupid . Dumb to get rid of Alonso but at least understandable if for a QB or high pick but not for a RB. Hope this is fake . this can' t be real . . . Please dont be real not fathomable how clueless our management is This is a joke move . Im sick. Terrible trade . This is horrible I can spit in a crowd of people at wal mart and hit a decent caliber running back , but we have been lackluster at LB for YEARS and now we get rid of a second year STUD for a 26 year old RB who may or may not be any more efficient than CJ ( who most certainly is gone now ) behind our line ?? Terrible. Can ' t believe this . **** me in the goat *** I can' t believe this ****. **** kkkkkk Sick to my stomach .
  17. Paul Domowitch's article from January predicting the Eagles wouldn't keep McCoy because they couldn't afford both him and Maclin "McCoy is only 26, but already has played six NFL seasons. His 1,461 carries rank ninth among active running backs. Most of the eight in front of him - Steven Jackson, Frank Gore, Willis McGahee, Chris Johnson, Maurice Jones-Drew - are on the downside of their careers. While the run game is a key element of Kelly's offense, he, like a growing number of other NFL coaches, might feel he can find a younger, cheaper replacement(s) in the draft. Take a look at the leading rushers for this year's 12 playoff teams. The Seahawks' Marshawn Lynch is the only back with a salary-cap number above $5 million ($8M). The leading rushers for nine of the 12 playoff teams had a cap number under $2 million. And this year's draft is supposed to be especially rich and deep in running backs." http://mobile.philly.com/sports/eagles/?wss=/philly/sports/eagles&id=290151411 and another article from March where he predicts it is not likely McCoy will be back: "McCoy's 2015 cap number is $11.9 million, second highest among NFL running backs to Adrian Peterson ($15.4 million). Throw in Darren Sproles' $4.1 million cap number and have $16 million of the Eagles' 2015 salary cap (expected to be around $140 million) invested at running back. And that will increase even more once the Eagles tender restrict free agent Chris Polk. McCoy is only 26 and is one of the two or three best backs in the league. But he already has nearly 1,800 career touches. If his cap number were, say $5 million to $6 million, we probably wouldn't be having this conversation. But it isn't. Chip Kelly has said he wants McCoy back, but at $11.9 million? Not likely." http://www.goerie.com/PD-Philadelphia-Daily-News-Paul-Domowitch-column-0301
