  1. Draftbreakdown.com Joe Marino @ TheJoeMarino 13m #Panthers signed Michael Oher to a two-year contract. He is not the answer at left tackle and I hope they don't think he is.
  2. comments from fellow Huddlers in the Titans cut OT Michael Oher thread: PantherDynasty: He's worse than Bell. And thats not a joke Jeremy Igo PFF ranks him lower than Nate Chandler. Jeremy Igo Remmers is at least in the positive, ranked far above Oher who is way negative. Oher is a RT by the way. He won't ever play LT in the league again. UNCrules2187: PFF notes he's gotten worse every year since his rookie season Matthias He's a failed LT, and now he can't play RT. TheSpecial1 He's terrible. The Huddler Dude is trash. Mage He has sucked since his 2nd season. WOW!! We've punished Cam enough...by putting RT's on the left side..
  3. Nealy @ Lights_Out77 3m Michael Oher could be a nice cheap addition at Right tackle, but if they try him at left I don't see it ending well
  4. CBS Sports Pete Prisco @ PriscoCBS 2m If Michael Oher is an upgrade, you know you have line issues.
  5. Rotoworld: "The Panthers are one of the most tackle-needy teams in the league, but even swinging gate Oher wouldn't solve their problems. Oher has the name but no game. He's on the fast track to falling out of the league. ... Oher is still only 29 (in May), but has been ineffective his entire career. He'll search for work as someone's No. 4 tackle. ... The "Blind Side" has been a major liability in both the run and pass game for nearly five years now. ... Oher never got better during his five-year stint in Baltimore, struggling mightily in spot duty at left tackle and performing at a well-below-average clip on the right side. ... Oher can't play left tackle and even struggles mightily on the right side. He's also a penalty machine. The Titans would be better off with Byron Stingily at right tackle. ... The Titans paid Oher $6M for this season and proceeded to watch him get tossed around like a rag doll [at RT opposite Roos then rookie Lewan]. ... He graded out negatively in both the run and pass game, finishing as a bottom-five tackle by Pro Football Focus. ... "I think right tackle is my best position," Oher said. "I think I'm better over there and the team is better." He's right about that last part. But no matter which side he's played, Oher has given up far too many pressures and taken too many penalties." http://www.rotoworld.com/recent/nfl/5182/michael-oher

  7. Josh Norris of Rotoworld: "The Panthers are reportedly considering bringing in Michael Oh...hahahah sorry. That is a lateral move from Byron Bell." http://www.rotoworld.com/articles/cfb/52439/344/post-combine-mock-draft?pg=2
  8. ESPN AFC South blogger Paul Kuharsky @PaulKuharskyNFL Feb 25 Michael Oher visited the #Panthers . To which I say, God help the Panthers.
  9. Oher would most likely be a horrible stopgap but we have slim pickings this year in FA. Oher is not an NFL player. Nobody wants him except for us because we are desperate. We will get him for vet minimum. Oher is not a talent upgrade over Bell. If whoever we draft can’t beat out Oher Day 1 I'll be worried about the guy we drafted
  10. Oher has been garbage for years. He's another Byron Bell. He's not even a good backup, but our options are slim in FA. Hope we just give him a 1 year deal for vet min as a backup to whoever we draft, then replace him with a better backup next FA
  11. 247Sports NFL Mock Draft v. 3.0 also has us taking Humphries: (off the board were Scherff, Peat, La'el Collins, and Flowers) 25. Carolina Panthers – D.J. Humphries, OT, Florida No offensive lineman helped their stock at the NFL Combine more than Humphries, who showcased left tackle athleticism in Indianapolis. When scouts go back to watch his film, they will find a nasty blocker with the wingspan and recovery speed to match up with pass rushers in the NFL. Cam Newton deserves a franchise blindside protector, and in Humphries, Dave Gettleman fixes the biggest mistake of 2014 – not replacing Jordan Gross with comparable talent. http://247sports.com/Board/30/Contents/247Sports-NFL-Mock-Draft-v-30-35861256?Page=2
  12. comments from fellow Huddlers: ncfan: "would rather see us go out and get a solid LT in the 1st. A Good #2 WR in this deep WR pool in the 2nd. Then get a Road Grading Mauler RT like Daryl Williams in the 3rd." ncfan: "3rd R: Daryl Williams- Looked good at LT vs Alabama last year but will be a RT in the NFL. Kid can open some holes in the run game and a solid pass blocker." ncfan: "3rd R - Daryl Williams: good pass blocker for a RT, had a GOOD showing at LT vs Alabama last year. Good run blocker. Future is RT in the NFL but can play LT if needed. Again better than any OT on our current roster." AaronPhillips28: "We aren't even guaranteed to take a T in the 1st. If Landon Collins fell, get him. That would leave us with a guy like Thompson or teammate Daryl Williams in the 2nd."
  13. Oklahoma Football @ OU_Football 4 Mar 14 In honor of #NationalPancakeDay here's Daryl Williams getting it done in the Sugar Bowl vs Alabama
  14. from an article on Williams a year ago, before the 2014 season began: “Daryl truly has been remarkable as he stepped forward in the winter, spring and summer,” Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops said. “He’s been one of the best leaders I’ve been around in 16 years. He’s always been a bright, great worker, great teammate, but now he’s taken ownership of being a leader.” ... quarterback Trevor Knight said: “He was watching extra film every single day, on top of what we already had to do,” Knight said. “He was coming out early for practice, staying late for practice, really doing all the little things right. And it paid off for him.” ... defensive tackle Chuka Ndulue said: “I believe in my soul that Daryl is the best right tackle in the nation,” Ndulue said. “Going against him in practice every day makes me better as a player, because if I can hold my own against him I can hold my own against anyone in the country.” http://www.dentonrc.com/sports/colleges/colleges-headlines/20140723-football-williams-grows-into-leader-at-ou.ece
  15. “This is not a man you want to make angry,” said Oklahoma's other OT Tyrus Thompson, who goes 6-foot-5 and 336 pounds himself. http://m.soonersports.com/mobile/ViewArticle.dbml?atclid=209689601&DB_OEM_ID=31000& Oklahoma Asst. AD - Pete Moris @ PeteMoris I wouldn't want to get on the bad side of Daryl Williams
  16. here's a spreadsheet comparing more of them https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1fFPR3VDrC_F0V7nupkpCiOj8HstR2D40fen625a_ehI/edit?usp=sharing&pli=1 note that all 5 of them did better than Luke Joeckel and Taylor Lewan (Peat also did better than Greg Robinson and Zach Martin). Also note that nobody did better on pass plays than Daryl Williams (95.54%), except one: Jake Matthews.
  17. Editor of SoonerScoop.com Josh McCuistion @JLMcCuistion Sep 20 Daryl Williams has been absolutely dominant so far this season for #Sooners , on pace for best season for an OL since Trent Williams in 2009. Editor of SoonerScoop.com Josh McCuistion @JLMcCuistion Feb 20 Follow a lot of good draft guys on Twitter but a bit surprised about the lack of attention/respect for Daryl Williams . High end potential.
  18. the other Oklahoma OT, Tyrus Thompson, says this about Williams: "He’s so technically sound. He takes to coaching the best of anyone I’ve ever met. He’s got a really great work ethic.." http://m.soonersports.com/mobile/ViewArticle.dbml?atclid=209689601&DB_OEM_ID=31000&
  19. CBS Sports Dane Brugler@ dpbrugler Dec 1 Two strong run blocking RTs Rob Havenstein and Daryl Williams both will be in Mobile. A pair of mean maulers who block out the sun
  20. Edraft.com scouting report: "Williams has potential to be a solid starting right or left tackle in the league... It’s not natural for guys with Williams’ size to be good athletes that can win in space. Normally a 6’6”, 330-pound frame will really inhibit an athlete’s ability to move and neutralize anything but power rushers, but Williams has good overall fluidity in his movements... moves rather well...can get to the second level well...excellent anchor ability... above average technician...neutralizes edge defenders well...a good pass blocker... Really moves defenders off the ball as a run defender...great length... a smart player...clearly an on-field leader for the team...most impressive part of Williams’ game is his ability to punch a pass rusher off their initial move and set his anchor to prevent a counter move" http://edraft.com/nfl/news/2015-nfl-draft-scouting-report-daryl-williams/
  21. Walter Football's Charlie Campbell notes on the Oklahoma offensive tackle duo of Tyrus Thompson and Daryl Williams going against the Clemson DL: "Williams played better than Thompson...This duo is reminiscent of the Tennessee tandem of Antonio Richardson and Ja'Wuan James last year. Richardson got more publicity, but NFL teams felt James was the better prospect and selected him in the first round while Richardson fell undrafted because of a micro-fracture knee injury. I'm not saying that Thompson will go undrafted, but don't be surprised if Williams is selected first and is the better pro." http://www.walterfootball.com/draft2015recap_16.php
  22. NFL.com on the Senior Bowl: "Oklahoma tackle Daryl Williams looked exceptional in one-on-one pass-rush drills" http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000461057/article/what-we-learned-on-day-one-of-senior-bowl-practices
  23. draftbreakdown.com Joe Marino @ TheJoeMarino Feb 18 Daryl Williams , OT, Oklahoma: 6'5'', 327 pounds, 35" arms, and 9 3/4" hands. Stud football player. Checking boxes so far. NEpatriotsdraft.com Mike Loyko @ NEPD_Loyko Feb 15 #OU OT Daryl Williams might be the most underrated OL in the draft. Plug him in at Right Tackle and let him roadgrade.
  24. NFL.com Chris Trapasso @ ChrisTrapasso Feb 19 Really like how Daryl Williams "attacks" DLs w/o lunging/ getting off balance as pass protector. Should instantly be bull in run game in NFL.
  25. NFL.com Chris Trapasso @ ChrisTrapasso Feb 20 An OT as big/powerful as Daryl Williams shouldn't be able to run 1.75 10-yard split. I'd be fine w/ him in Round 1. Panthers at 25 logical. video editor for Draftbreakdown.com, Mario @mario_clp - Feb 19 Dave Gettleman about Ja'wuan James (has to be him). Hope he feels the same about Daryl Williams
