  1. Rotoworld: "Clemson DT Grady Jarrett "is a potential second-day steal," according to NFLDraftScout.com's Frank Cooney. We couldn't agree more. Jarrett compares his own game to undrafted Hall of Famer John Randle (6-foot-1, 287) and likes to remind folks that Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald (6-foot-1, 285) won the 2014 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year. The 6-foot-1, 304-pound Jarrett is extremely disruptive, despite his smaller-than-ideal frame. We grade him as a top-30 prospect [#23]." http://www.rotoworld.com/player/cfb/133346/grady-jarrett?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
  2. NFL.com Ben Fennell @ BenFennell_NFL Mar 16 I tried watching Anthony and Jarrett kept grabbing my attention. Clemson wasnt the number 1 defense by accident Steven Bradley @ stevenbradley3 11 Dec 13 Jarrett is the heart and soul of the Clemson defense. Both coaches Swinney and Venables have used those words specifically to describe him. Clemson D finished last year: #1 total D, 260.8 ypg allowed (#2 was 278.7) #3 scoring D (0.7 ppg from #1) #3 rushing D, 2.97 ypc allowed (#2 was 2.95) #2 passing defense, 157.4 ypg allowed (#1 in Power 5) #1 in TFL and TFL per game #6 in sacks per game #2 in 3rd Down Conversion % allowed Chris @ SCollegeSports Oct 26 Spear: Jarrett is heart and soul of Tiger defense AP Top 25 @ AP_Top25 Jan 12 Clemson defense coordinator gets raise to $1.3 million The Greenville News Bart Boatwright @ bartboat Dec 29 Big 1st half for Grady Jarrett and the Clemson defense vs Oklahoma

  11. Big Blue View: "He can play as a 1 tech or 3 tech ... Could be a nightmare... Having someone that has superior athletic ability for the position is always rare so you want to jump on that when you can. A pro comparison for me would be someone like Geno Atkins." http://www.bigblueview.com/2015-nfl-draft/2015/3/26/8212335/2015-nfl-draft-jay-grady-jarrett-dt-clemson-scouting-report

  15. Pro Football Focus Steve Palazzolo @ PFF_Steve Apr 1 If I'm the Lions, I'm looking at Grady Jarrett before I look at Eddie Goldman in the first round.
  16. per the 2014 PFF stats on Interior Defenders Grady is: #2 in run stop percentage vs Power 5 opponents #3 in run stop percentage #4 in Pass Rushing Productivity vs Power 5 opponents https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2015/04/08/cff-sig-stats-interior-defenders/
  17. note: Ron Rivera spent his entire 9-year NFL playing career all with the Bears (age 22 to 30) Tillman spent his entire 12-year NFL playing career all with the Bears (age 22 to 33)
  18. Tillman is 34 years old, are we looking at him for our coaching staff?
  19. note PFF lists Geno Atkins, Ndamukong Suh and Gerald McCoy as the Prototypes for the 3-Tech spot (4-3 Pass Rush DT) https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2014/04/23/2014-defensive-prototypes-the-d-line/
  20. The Sports Illustrated analysts are calling him the next Geno Atkins: "Many will project Jarrett as only a nose tackle in a four-man base front because of his size, but this is an era in which defensive coordinators are forced to think outside the box with their personnel, and it's possible that Jarrett could provide extra dividends for such a coach—as a pass-rushing outside tackle ... Like Jarrett, Geno Atkins was an undersized player out of college who some teams didn't know how to project, but he became a superstar with the Bengals because the coaching staff understood how to unleash him on opposing offensive lines with the right complementary players around him. Jarrett appears to have the raw tools to make a similar impact. Pro Comparison: Geno Atkins, Bengals (4th round, 2010)" http://www.si.com/nfl/2015/03/30/2015-nfl-draft-ranking-si-64-breshad-perriman-cedric-ogbuehi?page=2&devicetype=default
  21. Rotoword Josh Norris @ JoshNorris Apr 5 Seeing many project Grady Jarrett to 1T/NT in the NFL. He played it at Clemson, but Grady thinks he'll move to 3T like former NFL DE Stephen White wrote the other day, you have to take the size teams list their players at with a grain of salt (he was like trust me, ours lied all the time), but Panthers.com and NFL.com list our 4-man DT rotation as: 6-2/330 - Colin Cole (6-2/309 at Combine) 6-2/320 - Star Lotulelei (6-2/311 at Combine) 6-3/315 - Kawann Short (6-3/299 at Combine) 6-3/305 - Dwan Edwards (6-3/313 at Combine) ??? - Grady Jarrett (6-1/304 at Combine) 225-pound Bench Reps before Draft: 38 - Star (33 - Grady Jarrett) 29 - KK 26 - Colin Cole 25 - Dwan Best case: Grady could replace either 1-tech Cole or 3-tech Dwan. Worst case, Garrett could replace just Dwan, who is turning 34 years old in May. And being that Star's strength is vs the run, we could put KK and Grady at DT on passing downs
