  1. Solid start to the season, winning three series and tied with the O's. Pitching staff looks shaky, but there is hope for the bullpen with Koji back.
  2. Considering we have 3 fifth round picks, it would be worth the risk. 5th round picks aren't usually much more than depth players or ST stars.
  3. First Half: 38 receptions / 571 yards Second Half: 35 receptions / 437 yards Not a huge fall off in production, which makes it exciting to think that if all goes well this year, he could put up around 1200 yards and 7-12 TD's.
  4. My favorite one so far: Round 1 Pick 25: Jake Fisher, OT/OG, Oregon ( Round 2 Pick 25: Hau'oli Kikaha, OLB/DE, Washington (B+) Round 3 Pick 25: Tyler Lockett, WR, Kansas State (A+) Round 4 Pick 25: Senquez Golson, CB, Ole Miss (A-) Round 5 Pick 25: Karlos Williams, RB, Florida State ( Round 5 Pick 33 (COMP): Taiwan Jones, ILB, Michigan State (A) Round 5 Pick 38 (COMP): Quandre Diggs, CB, Texas ( Round 6 Pick 25: Stefon Diggs, WR, Maryland (A) Round 7 Pick 25: Darius Philon, DT, Arkansas (B-)
  5. Dude is 34, not gonna get much for him unless he is hitting .400 in July.
  6. I still cant believe Victorino was given the starting job over Castillo.
  7. he had a bad year last year for sure, but I'm hoping he can perform like he did his first 2 years when his ERA was 2.22 and 3.03 in 65 innings.
  8. Layne has looked solid so far also, and I think the addition of Ross to the bullpen will also be helpful for short and long relief. Here's hoping Tazawa and Breslow can solidify the bullpen, would be nice to be able to only need 6 from the starter and be able to slam the door from there.
  9. Kelly looked really good out there today. Vavaro looks really good as short relief possible 7th inning guy. Brock Holt needs more playing time too.
  10. That was a crazy game. Both starters tomorrow are gonna have to suck it up and pitch deep because these bullpens are shot.
  11. Like what I have seen from Bogaerts tonight/this morning. Also was nice to see Ellsbury with a Johnny Damon-esque wobbler of a throw from center to the cutoff man. Please finish this one now Red Sox.
  12. Hanley must have thought he still had his Marlins-days speed.
  13. not sure why he wasn't playing deeper than usual in that situation, most outfielders would play further back to at least get a running start on a fly ball to get a chance on getting the runner tagging up at home.
  14. this game has been painful for both red sox and yankees fans lol. soon its gonna be the position players on the mound.
  15. at least we havent lost yet. gotta say i am pissed at ramirez for going to 3rd after the sandoval single. should have been 1st and 2nd with one out instead of man of 1st with two out.
  16. and yeah he was out at first, but it was very close. 2nd replay showed it more clearly than the original.
  17. This is painful. Just asking for trouble going with a knuckleballer for long relief in this park. The longer we go without scoring, the more likely they get ahold of a floating knuckler and win the game.
  18. Yeah, I would definitely prefer him as the closer over Mujica. This game is becoming painful to watch with us chasing everything in the dirt and watching the umps strike zone constantly change inning-to-inning.
  19. Not a fan of Mujica as our closer. Exhibit A right there.
  20. Also, underdogs usually play with a mean streak and play a lot more free. Would love to see us be more aggressive, looking to punch teams in the mouth (not literally) on every play.
  21. Tampa for the past couple of years has been the "trendy, outside the box" pick for the NFC South, but it seems that they have learned their lesson about the Bucs. Can't say I'm surprised about the Saints being first, as long as Brees is their QB, they will be chosen to finish first. The Panthers and Falcons are usually chosen to be within a game of each other, no matter what happens to either teams roster. Rather have us be doubted all year and then surprise everyone in the playoffs.
  22. I believe Hutch's potential caps at a #3 rotation guy. Mid 4s ERA is not a good sign, especially as the league turns more and more into a pitcher's league. Definitely too early to tell with Sanchez, can't say I'm too worried about him, maybe in a couple more years. Dickey is also tough to tell because he's a knuckleballer so his arm is not as old as 40 year old fastballer but knuckleballers are very volatile game-to-game. Barring injuries I would expect the Sox to win the division, but not sure how far we can go without an ace or dominant closer (depending on how Koji recovers)
  23. I really don't see Baltimore doing all that well with a mediocre offense and starting rotation. I think a healthy Pedroia could be a huge difference for the offense this year. Them losing Stroman really hurt, he could have headlined their rotation as the #1. Now their only hope is that Norris can progress quickly and be the ace. They also have to bank on Buehrle and Dickey having enough in the tank for one more good year
