Pro style run dominated offense.don't play dumb.
-
He does?
yes he does.
-
This is a deep draft for WRs. We should double dip.
we have heard that before.
-
The point you made was that if the seahawks used RW as a game manager (therefore, taking the ball out of his hands at crunch time) then they would have two Superb Owls.
But they didn't. And because they have a game manager rather than a game changer, they do not have another Lombardi.
strike 2, LOL!
-
Its only funny because you're making arguments that Wilson isn't just a game manager.
it's funny because you think that's what I was doing. The point I was making was clearly stated and you still missed it. That is the funny part.

YAY! Another one of THESE threads!
Thanks for dropping by!

We seem to have a few armchair GMs around here, especially when it concerns wide receivers in this year's draft class.
Here is a list of receivers that seem to elicit varying opinions.
What round do you think they will be drafted in? Not when you would draft them, but where you expect them to actually go.
Not really looking for people to argue over everyone's choices but more of an "on the record list" that we can look back on after the draft. I've included my very uneducated guesses.
Breshard Perriman - Late 1st
Jaelen Strong - Early 2nd
Devin Smith - Late 1st
Nelson Agholor - Middle 2nd
Phillip Dorsett - Middle 2nd
Dorial Green-Beckham - Late 2nd
Sammie Coates - Late 2nd
Justin Hardy - 3rd
Chris Conley - 3rd
Perriman 1rst
Strong 2nd
Smith 2nd
Agholor 1rst
Dorsett 2nd
DGB 2nd
coates 3rd
Hardy 3rd
Conley 4th

back to the OP I think they will work it out unless they feel lightning can strike again . You have a "game manager" who has managed to win the biggest game so I don't think they would part unless they already have another plan to fill in the gap. I say he stays and signs a back loaded incentive laden contract that gets changed well before it runs out....or they trade him to the bears!LOL!
-
No he hasn't.
sorry , you are right. still one play away from 2 and if you run the ball... the pt is the make up of the team.
-
You can't compare RW to Cam. RW has largely been a game manager during his NFL career while on the other hand, Cam has largely been asked to BE our offense.
that should tell us a lot about how to proceed. at this pt the game manager has won 2 SB's. great D with a shutdown secondary and a power running game with mediocre yet serviceable rec corp.
We need CB,S,OT,and Todd Gurley.
-
He can't catch, plain and simple.
ok , missing the boat on this one .
-
Because he's an average WR.
Yeah he's fast but there's a ton of fast guys in the nfl.
Yeah he catches with his hands but there's a ton of guys who do that.
He's a solid player but his late round grade is fitting.
again, avg at what?
-
I'd collab with him for a film but do not want any earlier than the 6th.
6th would be steal of the draft.
-
Before the combine he was a 5th or 6th round pick. This guy is athletic but was only above average last year at Georgia.
above avg at what?
-
my sleeper pick.
-
So we might draft a certain player. Or maybe not
“I’m a playmaker. I can run the ball up the middle. I can run it outside. I can run the ball from the gun. I can do it all. I can catch the ball and make some plays; I’ve done it. … I think guys just automatically assume because I’m not 230 and I’m not straight bulldozing guys over that I’m not a strong runner, which is false. … I’m a special back, and I know I am.”
Thats a lot to print on the back of his jersey.
he hate me jr.

Played HS football at Monroe, college at Duke, NFL with the Panthers?
Great role model, super intelligent, great hands, good blocker, great return guy with a good second gear. Only knock on him is his size, he's only 5'9 and that could be especially bad being paired with Cam.
Anybody else like me want to see us use a late-round pick on him though? He feels like a 5th round guy. He has the potential to be Steve Smith without the locker room cancer presence.
unless he brought some "locker room cancer presence" he would be nothing like SS.
-
I feel like he was signed to play FS, Cut Harper & Move boston over to SS.
that sounds great...cut Harper!
-
As for me, I will just get some comfort getting another young WR with some upside and obvious YAC ability, but I prefer Perriman, Agholor and Hardy.
Perriman just oozes explosive potential, and I have been saying that since I first saw him. Agholor had a fairly fast time in the 40, but when you watch him on tape, he looks even faster (like he has another gear), and he has nice hands and runs nice routes. Hardy, though slower, also has maybe the best hands and runs the best routes. Though maybe not as athletic on tape than some others, Hardy always seems to put himself in a position to make plays.
That's just my abridged break down of my three favorite receivers in the draft. And to tell you the truth, I like them all more than I like Strong in fitting with our needs. But, I have literally been watching Strong for going on two years, and if he ends up being picked above or instead of either of them, I am not going to throw a hissy fit.
looks like we have some good options. Where are these likely to be available?
-
any of the 1st and 2nd round WRs. lol If we get strong ill be happy but like I said I think we need a burner.
perhaps we have strong and maybe we can eventually find a long term #3 with serious speed
In the end, ill take route running over straight line speed anyday
there are a few fast guys in the later rounds. I personally like Conley from UGA . He is not the only one. isn't Strong a 4.45 guy?Maybe that doesn't translate to game speed.

We don't "need" another corner. It would help but it's not needed with Bene and Norman in place. Harper started carrying his weight towards the end of last season when the young guys started stepping up, so SS isn't our biggest need, but yes we should definitely upgrade at SS, or move Tre to SS and get a FS. The guy doesn't know what he's talking about.
yes, need is the correct term, we need another corner and another safety. In this case this guy knows exactley what he is talking about and he is absolutely correct. you lost your argument when you said, Harper.
-
I guess Norman, Bene and Tre aren't "a safety and some cornerbacks." What a fool. Entire article should be disregarded based on that alone.
we still need a safety and another corner
-
I just want a #2 who is a bit faster..
who do you like?
-
Im not on the strong banwagon.
I like Strong but here are more options. if he is there in 2nd it would be a good pick. Some were talking about him in the first but I think that would be a reach.
Why aren't we hearing more about Chris Conley?
in Carolina Panthers
