Carl Torbush comes to mind.

Free agent...because none who will be there are worth the #9 pick.

If you think we don’t need a QB you are nuts.

I cannot wait to hear how our first pick won't matter like it did when we were still able to select Brian Burns.
It wont matter if we dont get a good coaching staff.way more important than this draft position.

I've been giving this some thought, and it's hard to see the Panthers going any other route this year than marrying a new HC with a new QB. If you have a guy that you love like Bryce Young, you have the capital to do it, so you make it happen. I have no idea what trade value would look like, but the Panthers have assets that would be a great fit for Chicago like Brian Burns and/or DJ Moore. I'm in the camp that likes Burns and would hate to lose him, but you have to believe he would be in play and is probably valued at around 2 first rounders+, himself.
I think Burns + our first rounder this year (#9) and the 49ers 2nd rounder would be in-play. I could be way off when it comes to value, but I think the Panthers can get that pick without sacrificing the future.
If you were the Panthers and coveted the #1 overall pick, what would be your move to get it from the Bears?
Lol...a year early. Keep what we got or trade back for more picks.

Tanking is like poverty...its a mindset that doesnt go away.a losers mentality.

There’s no need for misdirection at all. We need a QB. Not more offensive line.
Its not misdirection its the right direction. What we need and what's available dont line up with your narrative.

Winning matters to coaches coaching for their jobs and players who actually care. For a lot of fans winning the last game of your season when it means absolutely nothing except that you beat a rival really doesn’t mean much.
Winning is winning no matter who you are.

Considering who will probably be there...
Peter Skoronsky.

There are others I would prefer, but I think he’s earned it. He went .500 with someone else’s roster/coaches. Let’s see what he can do with his own roster and a full offseason.
It's the interim luck... it usually doesnt last

I have LB as a top target, looking at round 3. If we move back and pick up another selection or two, I wouldn't mind double dipping. We are thin there and it's time for Shaq to move on once his current deal expires. Dude eats up a ton of cap space for an above average (not elite) LB.
I think we extend Luvu again. Brandon Smith is a huge question mark. The rest of the guys are filler-type players, let's be honest here. We save $2.5 against the cap for Wilson in his last year on his deal. I'm not sure we don't sign/draft another safety and move Chinn down in the box permanently.
Right now for next year we have Shaq, Luvu and Smith with some STs/prctice roster types (anticipating Wilson being a cap casualty). That's not going to cut it.
Need to look at rd 2.

This guy is, in my view, what the Panthers need at TE, and I am guessing he'd be available in Round 2. He has excellent hands, grabs balls in traffic, very productive. This would, in my opinion, make the CMC trade one of the best moves we could have made because it added a second rounder. This TE would make the Panther O better.
Would love him in 2nd.

But to the coaches and players in context with everything else suggests management was giving up on this year and looking to the future which sure looked like talking to them.
If you say so...

Some folks in the locker room might disagree given McCaffrey was 70% of our offense at the time.
It was time to move him for both our sakes.

I thought firing Rhule was the right move. The way the team looked, I didn’t think they had a hope in the world for generating offense without McCaffrey. I did think we should have traded both McC and Burns for the tank, but tbh I thought trading McC would be enough to get us the #1 or #2 pick. With as low as my opinion was of him, I didn’t think it was possible to underestimate just how much Rhule was holding this team back. Boy was I wrong.
Of course it was the right move.My pt was we were not trying to tank.

Can’t blame Wilks. You can’t ask coaches and players to tank, and you especially can’t blame an interim coach who does not have a hc contract for next season.
if we wanted to tank just keep rhule until end of season.
