Yeah I’m surprised how salty people are about it. I felt like when we signed him we always knew it was going to be a 1yr rental.
Plans should be fluid.

Darnold, Trubisky are two examples - they went #3 and #2 in their drafts that teams gave up a ton thinking they were top tier franchise QB's.....yes it does happen. But your last point was exactly what I said - you win some you lose some....but only some teams trade tons of picks for the risk and they usually regret it.....like the Jets and Bears.....who still suck because of it.
Yes...its the cost to find out thats too high in a draft like this.Trubisky is one of my boys but It was clear Chicago made a mistake.

Truth is that there's no such thing as a good QB draft until years after it's happened. People always put the next draft as the good one rather than the current one. Besides, relying on a "good" QB draft seems like code for, "which one gives me the best chance to have an all-pro talent fall to me at pick 12 once I've gone 7-10 for the 8th straight year?" If you're sitting at #1 or #2, a "good" or "bad" QB draft doesn't exist because you don't care about who falls where.
Has zero to do with any other draft in the past. It has to do with who is in this draft and who is in the next. There are at least 2 cant miss prospects in the next draft, which along your line of thinking can only prove not to be until yrs in the future.Drafting one of these current qbs are 3 yrs down the rd from desired success, while a one yr wait for a qb wouldn't prolong that timeline.A bad qb draft does exist and we are staring it in the face and it doesnt matter who is #1 or #2.

I agree. It will be interesting to see some of the other QBs perform at the combine. There might be a prospect that we could get in round two.
A bad qb draft makes that a better value.I'd just load up bpa and draft a clayton tune in 4th or 5th rd as a bridge to next draft.Wont hurt when we cut him and would be a win if he can play in the league. No desperation needed.

It’s a 100000x less of a crap shoot than 2nd-7th rd QBs or cast offs you pick up in FA.
Made up math is always more fun.We reduced that risk 100000x when we hired Reich who we all trust to be the QB whisperer we have been waiting for.

Mr. Tepper
Mr. Fitterer
Coach Reich
As a Fans I am pleading with you to give us a Franchise QB and not rejects from other teams to lead the Panthers to a winning season. Some of the current players (Corners) need to review last year's tape and explain why more effort wasn't put forth. If that was the best, it wasn't good enough.
"KEEP POUNDING"
Reich is a reject from another team.

Not possible this draft no matter how many letters you write.

yeah you best believe that Terry Fontenot is going to do everything in his power to make sure that Richardson doesn't fall into Carolina's lap at #9... just saying
We can only hope his happens.

We can't trade for the Number 1 pick now because we need draft picks for defense. Our list of holes on that side of the ball just got bigger. Now you probably should take BPA to build out the core of the team as best you can, or trade down if you're sure you can get who you want, and develop those guys while probably not being great. I just, I don't understand the scheme transition while you're looking for a new QB and only have five draft picks.
That pretty much sizes it up.

Desperate moves net disappointing results. I'm hoping we can get Carr so we don't have to be desperate. I'm always looking for a good trade back opportunity to give us more draft capital.
I like Carr but the price tag may be a tad too high.

Sure, but you don't ignore good process just because a coach is new. If the head coach likes a QB and the team needs a QB you go get the QB as that's the most important position in the sport.
Being new means trust hasnt been earned.Im not ignoring good process , I am stating what I consider the good process.

Having seen many of your past football observations, I'd say not having your trust is probably a good sign.
If you were all in on him, then I'd be worried.

You'll wait for what? We dont get to make any of these decisions. Reich was hired so he could fix the QB position. If he doesn't he'll probably get the axe like most coaches who fail at what they were hired for. He definitely wasn't paid to draft a LB with the 9th pick and skip QB because the internet doesn't like a certain one.
Trust is earned
