Everyone has believed him to be fake and its starting to show and cant be overlooked now that he is on the back end of career and cant hide behind Lynch, receivers making circus catches, or a great defense.

An audible would have changed everything.

True but year 3 with $100 mil to spend in free agency should translate to some wins or that QB and/or coach probably aren’t the answer.

My fear in our own projected path, but minus 100 mil.

    Could be very prophetic.

My only concern with trading up for a QB, is if it fails. If one falls to us at 9, we can select another next year. If we trade up, we're stuck for most likely 3 years without a second shot at a top prospect. I have no issues with drafting a guy and whiffing, but what's the backup plan if that happens and you do not have a 1st for the foreseeable future?

Point is, if we trade up to 1 or 3, we better be certain. Fitt's job is going to ride or die on the success of that pick.

Not a Fan of these QBs, but staying at 9 and drafting one makes more sense than what is will cost to move up for one.I think your 3 year timeline is correct.

I still hold to drafting top infrastructure in this draft and get a qb in later rounds that has a chance to be good but still wouldn't hurt us to cut in a yr or 2.

Norv was the best OC we'd had, and had Cam on pace for career best numbers in completion percentage -- people forget, we were 6-2 and this was with a LT off the damn street.

I appreciate the time Ron spent here, but I cannot forgive the fact that we IGNORED outfitting a generational talent at QB with the most effective skill players / OL to maximize his talent.

I think the issue with defensive minded coaches is that even WITH a talent like Cam, they THINK I need the best defense I can field and my QB is good enough. When to me it's yes you need a good defense, but when you have THAT at QB, you need to field a GREAT offense. Not just a GREAT QB.

    Exactly...even now

Nah, not a chance. No way in hell is Reich rolling out there next year with Sam hanging around.

Question: would we be happy with any rookie QB playing as well as Sam played at the end of the season?  Sam was really solid IMO.  I don’t think we should forget how he improved.

Should we resign Sam and draft other positions?

If Reich is the coach many think he is why not let him have a go at Darnold?

The “now” has 2 QBs worth the move up.  Outside of those 2 we are reaching and it’s super risky.  I don’t hate Levis but how can he lead a pro team to glory when he was incredibly average his entire career

I dont think any are worth moving up for, but it doesnt hurt my feelings if you do.I'll pull for whoever we get. Irregardless.

    Talk yo sh!t GOAT!

We can't keep passing on QB's because we think the class is weak. Might need to try something different than the castoff vet QB route we tried for the past 3 years.

Sure you can ...this class will be a 3 yr wait for determining success...so you have a 3 year window to get The Guy...next yr there are least two with a 1 yr window.

It’s going to get a lot worse in the lead up to the draft. He has the highest ceiling. People will have him as #1 in some mocks no doubt.

I wouldn’t object to him at 9 but truthfully I’m just not feeling the QBs this draft. Stroud isn’t bad but I still don’t want to trade up.

A true sense if clarity...thank you!
