  1. If I were in NFLPA leadership I would strike until this issue was resolved to be honest.
  2. The thing I like most about Steichen is how well he's developed two young QBs with very very different play styles and skillsets in Herbert and Hurts.
  3. Steichen is my top choice (assuming reports on Harbaugh being out are true)
  4. There's so much smoke here with McVay that I think it would be a huge mistake to not at least check in on the situation. McVay is no doubt an elite offensive minded HC, exactly what we're looking for and need. Mixed reports on him wanting to take time off/actually retire and go into broadcasting or if he sees the writing on the wall for the Rams with Stafford's health/age, their cap situation and all the picks they gave up to go all in for last year. If his current hemming and hawing is the latter, we should be going all out trying to trade for him and convince him to want to continue to build his legacy here. Odds are he is considering a legit retirement but if there's any chance he just wants out of LA and would coach for another team we should be trying to be in the mix. Just my opinion...
  5. That would be stupid and a waste of an interview, Leftwich is trash and that was proven this year after Arians left. Ryans, although defensive which is not ideal, is a legit fresh HC candidate who would not be a waste of an interview. Not even just for the Rooney rule although it would satisfy it, I'd circle back to Eric Bieniemy. Mahomes and Reid are great but his contributions to making the Chiefs the number 1 offense after getting rid of Hill can't be ignored. He should be a sought after legit candidate.
  6. no I don't watch college football and it's completely irrelevant. Harbaugh is proven at the NFL level with crappy QBs. If he gets himself a Mahomes type QB like Andy Reid did he'd be set up to build a dynasty. He's that good of an NFL coach. And Tepper is gonna blow it because of his ego
  7. Hopefully Tepper is underwhelmed by these guys’ interviews and drags his shriveled up brass balls begging back to Harbaugh
  8. Probably no less qualified than Tepper himself anyways
  9. Wilks is the man, great dude and I'm happy for him having a pretty successful run as interim HC (relatively speaking). That said, he is not the right man for the job here if we want to seriously attempt to turn this team into a Super Bowl contender. Has nothing to do with his leadership ability (which is great), his race (which is irrelevant) or anything else Wilks supporters will point to. It has to do with the direction the league has been trending. Wilks coaches an old school conservative, defense oriented game which is not how you win in the current league atmosphere (rules, league-wide scheming/strategy, etc.). You need a franchise QB which needs to be developed by a bright (often young) offensive mind. If you go with a defensive HC and have the bright offensive mind as your OC, he's going to get poached by another team if he's any good. Going with Wilks or any other defensive minded HC will continue to set this team back. I don't like this reality, I love old school football like Wilks coaches, like Rivera coached, etc. But it is the reality of the league, you need offense to win and in particular you need a top tier passing offense. Wilks, no matter who he tries to bring in at OC will not be able to offer that in the longer run. Harbaugh would be great as a bright offensive mind who has a proven track record of success in the NFL and not only in the W/L column but in getting the absolute most out of a few average QBs in Smith and Kaepernick. That's why he's my #1 choice, as unlikely as it seems now with the reports about Tepper rejecting him essentially. After that, get a young OC who has had success like the Eagles guy. Going with a retread is a mistake and going with any defensive guy is a mistake.
  10. Didn't see a thread on this, see below. If we can get a legit HC and an even average QB this doesn't look so bad at all. NFC South and AFC South both suck so we've got plenty of opportunity next year if we can get our shgit together Home Away Atlanta Falcons Atlanta Falcons New Orleans Saints New Orleans Saints Tampa Bay Buccaneers Tampa Bay Buccaneers Green Bay Packers Chicago Bears Minnesota Vikings Detroit Lions Houston Texans Jacksonville Jaguars Indianapolis Colts Tennessee Titans Dallas Cowboys Seattle Seahawks Miami Dolphins
  11. We hire Reich, draft a linebacker, trade for Carr and continue to suck ass next year
  12. Dude Fields just led his team to the 1st overall pick and you think he'd save this franchise? lol
  13. I can't imagine what legitimate HC prospect would have any interest in going to Houston. People think our situation is bad but theirs is 10x worse.
  14. he'll be cut if we can re-sign Boze otherwise we keep him. also he was rock solid before his injury, I don't get the hate
  15. Coming from someone who desperately wanted Fields in that draft and at the time thought we completely blew it passing on him, I actually think they should trade him. He's a very poor man's Lamar, who I'm not particularly a huge fan of either. 3 years away from likely being overpaid like Lamar will be, Kyler is, etc. I'd take a shot on Young or Stroud over Fields. But I bet they trade the pick and keep Fields.
  16. I'm thinking Arizona at 4. Houston takes Young or Stroud, we trade up and get the other at 4. Will cost roughly the equivalent of what we got for McCaffrey, which ain't too steep of a price IMO.
  17. who do you want? I'd seriously look at trading up to nab either Young or Stroud.
  18. dumb from Foreman but I hope we bring him back for relatively cheap next year. He's a real solid back running between the tackles which every team needs one of.
  19. a loss today with the Falcons winning would be nice, would stink to be picking behind them
