  1. His drafting is terrible but made up for with shrewd bargain free agent signings and trades that have fit his systems. Having Brady on a cheap deal later in his career was big but the first 3 Super Bowls he could've won with a dozen other game managers at QB.
  2. I see him going to another team with a QB already in place and winning another championship or at least coming very close. He’s a cheating scumbag but arguably the best football mind ever.
  3. PFF ain't the gospel but they had him ranked 32 among all Interior DL in his 2020 his rookie year, which is above average (considering every team has 2 or 3 IDL starters (depending on whether they play 4-3 or 3-4). https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-interior-defender-rankings-entering-2021-nfl-season Can't find 2021 but last year they had him ranked 7th: https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-final-2022-interior-defender-rankings He's an unsung hero like Star was at his peak for us, and Brown last year provided more pass rush than Star ever did for us. Brown isn't comparable to the big sack guys at DT like Williams, Donald, etc. but he's one of the best all around interior DL out there. We'll see how he does with the scheme change but I think it'll be benefit him. Believe what you want but most of us see his importance.
  4. lol this is an absurd take. he's no Williams but he was an above average starter from day 1 and last year took his game to another level.
  5. Brown's lack of sacks should help keep the price down relative to guys like Quinnen. Brown has 6 career sacks through 3 seasons, Quinnen has 27.5 through 4. I don't think we'll have any issues keeping him for good value compared to what he provides on the field because of the lack of those flashy stats. Quinnen isn't a comparable at all.
  6. To be fair I like Borrego better than Clifford, not that Borrego was a great option either. fug that Warriors dude for reneging on our deal.
  7. I don't care for Clifford but the young talent on this team is exciting enough to overcome his shortcomings if fully healthy. LaMelo, Miller, Bridges, PJ, Mark is a really really solid core to build around and develop. Hayward and Rozier should come off the bench and are very solid in that role if that's how we do it. We were 43-39 in 21-22 with a mostly healthy LaMelo and Bridges, now we're adding Miller and Mark which are huge additions. If Clifford can't make this roster a top 6 seed this year he's gotta go. But I do think the roster is good enough this year to be a locked in top 6 seed and playoff team in the East if healthy. Miles being suspended for 10 games not ideal but it's short enough we can manage.
  8. Bryce will lead us to being top 10 this year
  9. The lack of a legit offense is a very legit point when looking at Burns’ raw sack numbers. A lot of sacks come when your team is up in the 2nd half and the other team is forced to be predictable and throw the ball every play. Burns hasn’t had many of those types of games to get those opportunities. Glad he’s getting the recognition. That said, I still do think there have been flaws to his game keeping him from being top 10 at his position, i.e. run D and finishing off sacks (lots of pressure where he should get a sack but the QB just avoids getting brought down, overruns, etc.). Switching to the 3-4 should help that and I can absolutely see him dominating and playing like a top 5 pass rusher in Evero’s scheme.
  10. Ok not sure what that has to do with my post or the post I quoted
  11. lol what, even with Dalton we'll be significantly better than 2010, what a ridiculous take. Probably even better than 2011 with Dalton too. We were better than 2011 last year despite trash at QB and coach much of the year. Panthers will easily make the playoffs this year if Bryce stays healthy, and possibly still make it even if he doesn't.
  12. I didn't say it'd be cheap, Tep has the money
  13. Lot of things to like about the staff but let's see how they perform before making claims like that. Not comparing the current group to this but everyone universally lauded our hiring of Joe Brady as OC and we all know how that turned out... No doubt there's a tremendous mix of experience and younger brighter minds bringing fresh ideas but best in the league top to bottom should be reserved for staffs that have shown results. Ours is entirely unproven right now.
  14. rotoworld was already trending the wrong way, I used to always go there for player news, trades, etc. across the sports but they got rid of some sports entirely and others have gotten less coverage/more delayed reporting. that combined with the new eyesore of a format/website and I may be done with it
  15. fuging outrageous that this doofus caters to the demands of soccer players that don't even play for his team but won't listen to the demands of his own players. I'm way happier with how this offseason has gone than his first 5 years but damn Tepper this is the easiest fuging thing to do to make players and fans happy and he still won't budge.
  16. damn PFT and rotoworld absolutely ruined their websites, jesus christ that is a terrible new layout/format
  17. lol terrible, there's no chance we'll be that low. Also the Rams were bad last year due to injuries they'll be contending for a wildcard or better this year easily and they're at 30 in that list.
  18. LaMelo, Miller, Miles is exciting. Get rid of Terry now and sign Seth Curry
  19. I do think best player is different than most valuable. A QB will always be MVP in the current era and that's Mahomes. But I don't think best player is necessarily a QB. In years past I'd say Donald had a legit argument for best player but he's fallen off a bit while Mahomes has continued to get even better and do more with less. So I still go with Mahomes as being the best player but not just because he's the best QB. I think he's that much better at his position than any other player is at theirs. If Donald were still in his prime it'd be a toss up. Also I'd put prime Luke up there.
  20. tremendous throw where only the receiver could catch it which is all that matter for us but that was a massive push off lol
  21. cool, not expecting a huge jump from him as he turns 30 this year somehow (doesn't feel like he's been in the league more than like 3 years but he's been here 5 and was old in the draft), but it would be sweet for him to break out.
  22. I wouldn't call myself a "diehard" Hornets fan but I've probably watched 30-40 full games the past 2 years despite the team sucking and bits and pieces of others despite being out of market, so maybe I qualify... My thoughts are you take Scoot and see if it can work with the two of them (I think it can). LaMelo is an RFA in a year and we should be able to keep him on the next contract without issues the way the NBA cba is set up, so you keep him and try to make it work for a couple years. If they just can't work together then you can trade one of them, which one depends on so many different things that we just don't know right now. I don't worry too much about LaMelo wanting out IF the team can get to a point where they're a legit playoff team. The next 1-2 years are especially critical in that regard. Having 2nd overall pick and a chance to take an elite prospect in Scoot, getting LaMelo's buddy Miles back (likely on a relative bargain because of the legal issues), and having a healthy Melo and some of the other young guys developing could have this team in the playoffs as soon as this year. But we also have to see what plays out with a potential sale of the team and from there any changes to the front office/coaching staff. I really hate that we hired Clifford last year as he's not the guy to lead this team out of the gutter and having him here next year could cost us. But we shall see.
  23. And the Aints were true contenders for how many of those years while having an elite hall of fame iron man QB (which Allen is not)? About 3 years around when they won the Super Bowl (similar to the last 3 years Bills but they didn't win it all) Then about 2-3 years following their 2017 draft which could be argued as one of the best drafts by any team in league history and the main reason for their status as contenders the following years. As I said in my last post, "they will have some serious work cut out for them to stay a contender the next several years." I'd say that type of draft qualifies as "serious work cut out for them," getting an elite cornerback, OT, RB and above average starting safety & pass rusher all in the same draft to have on rookie deals for 4 years. Hey, maybe the Bills can do that too!
