  1. Nobody here's "loving" Ron. We're just not blindly criticizing him for things that we aren't qualified to judge. And it's particularly ridiculous when you show you clearly don't know what you're talking about and don't have any facts or logic backing up your argument.
  2. Bene was inserted right when he got healthy. As for Boston you have absolutely no qualifications to judge that and you did not see him play in practice. You saw him come in when he came in, which is when Rivera and the coaching staff thought was the right time, and he played well. If he went in too early he could've looked like sh*t and his confidence would've been down the drain. I'm done preaching to a moron like you who just doesn't get it. Enjoy bashing Rivera.
  3. Bene started at nickel and played there until he got the high ankle sprain (I think against the Bears). His first game back and for the rest of the season, he started on the outside, so you're wrong. Boston wasn't active for the first 5 games and he missed the entire offseason program and had a sh*tload of catching up to do. He was not ready to start until he did end up starting. How's honesty working out for you?
  4. Still better than me. And while he was indeed bad, Rivera isn't to blame for him getting playing time. White was equally as bad and we had nobody else.
  5. Maybe Igo is wrong? Wait, no, that couldn't be... He's a football god.
  6. Both Boston and Bene were hurt and rookies who had a lot to learn so there is no way you can possibly judge whether they were ready to play and that Rivera was sitting players that are way better than the starters.
  7. Great article, thanks for posting. Only thing that worries me is this: I don't want us signing him to a 1 year deal, only for him to play lights out like he did in 2012 and then walk like our 2013 signings did. Give him at least a 2 or 3 year deal with incentives and roster bonuses and I'll be happy.
  8. Interesting thought. If McD ends up a head coach and Wilks becomes DC maybe Tillman to DBs coach?
  9. Interesting thought. If McD ends up a head coach and Wilks becomes DC maybe Tillman to DBs coach?
  10. Neither Bene or Norman is fast. I just want good guys who can play. Tillman fits that bill despite his age, and he'd come really cheap, as well as mentor our young guys.
  11. Honestly think he would be a better signing than Ball. Would be able to play across from Norman and have Bene the permanent slot guy in nickel packages. Not to mention he's a great guy all around (another NFL Walter Payton Man of the Year winner) and would be great for the locker room and young guys in our secondary. If we can get Tillman and then Jennings as well and if Gettleman drafts like he did last year I honestly see us being a powerhouse in the league, and being a top Super Bowl contender.
  12. I agree. Either Greg's waiting to find his best option, or the prices are off in discussions. I just don't think that we (or another team) wouldn't give him a 3-4 year deal or longer though. I think there's almost zero chance he signs a 1 year deal as you suggested.
  13. And I'm saying he wasn't any more of a threat in Green Bay than he was in Minnesota. Stats are what make it seem like he was worse in Minnesota, but he wasn't. Teams that watch film will be able to realize that. He's aging and has lost speed, so that factors in to a degree, but he was never a burner.
  14. Teams don't look at stats to determine whether they sign a player. So no, teams will not look at that. They will look at the tape. QB play factors into how "good" a WR looks and their stats, and going from Favre/Rodgers to Ponder/Cassell/Bridgewater is quite a big difference. Jennings was never some high-end #1 like he seemed to be (to fans) with the Packers, and like he was paid by the Vikings. But he is a solid #2 or low-end #1, and that held true with both the Packers and Vikings.
  15. He was the same player in Minnesota as he was in Green Bay. Teams know that.
  16. I don't remember the exact tweet, but he never indicated nor implied that another team was signing him. I think he just used Greg's tweet where Greg said he had a done deal. Joe just said the Panthers weren't signing him. Maybe could've clarified it better, but I never got that Greg was signing with another team from what Joe said.
  17. How are they different? They're both completely harmless. Anyone who's pissed at Greg really needs to step back and take a look at their life.
  18. Interesting how everyone's ripping on Greg for having an "ego" or being "self-centered" when what he's doing isn't all that different from what Cam does and everyone says "oh he's just having fun and playing around." Greg did a silly april fools joke that involved his kids, no harm there. Posted about "good charlotte" and "miami something." So what? No different than Cam doing his first down signal all the time--just having their fun. I'm sure you'd all think it was hilarious if he or someone else did this with the Aints or Falcons and then signed elsewhere.
  19. Exactly. I can't believe someone thinks we can't compete with the Giants or Texans...
  20. No you have no clue what you're talking about, Scot. Don't you remember we got blown out by the Giants 38-0....oh wait....And the Texans had like 5 more wins than us....oh wait....
  21. I want him to be and if he's there at 25 I think he'll be the pick, but I really don't see him falling. This is gonna be a great draft.
