  1. This alone should get people absolutely pumped if we do sign Stafford. Still not my first preference but he would be a MASSIVE upgrade on Teddy.
  2. When was the last time a QB of Watson's caliber was available via trade? The answer is never so there is no precedent to compare it to. Poor argument here...
  3. He compares pretty well to Cam, just even more raw. I think he could become a more consistent/better passer with the right coaching too. He's a boom/bust pick, but if he does develop and hit his ceiling he absolutely could be a top 5 elite franchise QB. I prefer Fields by far, and maybe prefer Wilson a little bit, but I'd still be absolutely pumped with Lance. At least we'd have a clear direction at QB...
  4. Lance could have a similar trajectory to Josh Allen if he doesn't bust. I actually like him quite a bit better than Allen as a prospect, but like Allen did, he has a ton of work to do before he'll be ready to lead this team. Would be wise to sit him for a year or even 2 behind Teddy, as much as that would suck for us fans to watch Teddy hinder this offense for any longer...
  5. There is a very active Canes forum over at: https://hfboards.mandatory.com/forums/carolina-hurricanes.26/ Really good discussion and group of fans there, and I've already seen some trickle over from the team board that shutdown recently. That is definitely the place to be for Canes fans online right now, would be very hard to get that to change, though I'd love it if this place became more active. If you ask me the Huddle (Panthers board) is the best sports forum on the internet, despite the team sucking the last few years and the sprinkle of politics coming in from a handful of posters. But it may be tough to get the Canes fans over here as there are not a ton of crossover hockey/football fans, and that other board is all hockey stuff not just Canes so it kind of fills a niche for hockey people that most Canes fans would probably stick with rather than coming over here...
  6. Not disagreeing that many do this but I'll say that completion % is one of the most useless stats out there. What matters is what a QB does with his completions.
  7. Nah it was Cotch's catch that was ruled incomplete which led to the first strip sack on Cam like a play or 2 after that. Cotch caught it.
  8. Reid will scheme around it and as much as I loved Cam at his peak here, Mahomes is just so much better in maneuvering the pocket and recognizing and feeling the pass rush. Chiefs will be fine.
  9. I don’t think it would be terribly hard to offload Teddy’s contract to rebuilding teams who have a ton of cap space. Teddy and a 4th or 5th for a conditional 7th.
  10. Then they take it a bit far and look like fools after the play there... Not a great look.
  11. Definitely was, but it helps when you can invest time into following the specific players like I have with the Hornets to start this season. Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely getting more into the NBA lately and have watched almost every Hornets game so far this season (bought NBA League Pass here in Boston for the first time). But it's less fun/exciting with other teams when the games don't mean that much in the regular season and you know it'll be the same exact teams in the mix in the playoffs... I do think it's been getting better in the past couple of years and if that trend continues I'll probably watch even more, but that's yet to be seen.
  12. Depending on the price it'd be hard to not get extremely excited about Watson, but I wouldn't want to give up too much and not be able to build a contender around him while adding that contract. I definitely suspect other teams will outbid us for him but there are a lot of factors that could potentially align result in him being a Panther. Realistically, I think the best option is to take the best QB out of Fields/Wilson/Lance that is available in the 4-8 range. Hopefully one falls to us and we don't have to trade up but if we do have to trade up a few spots to guarantee we get one, then fine by me. I agree on Watson... I don't think the price will be as high as you've suggested in other threads here but I do think it'll wind up being more than I would want to pay -- though the team still may be willing to give up a ton for him... I'm mixed on Stafford. I think he's been dragged down in that sh*thole Detroit franchise and is definitely a legit franchise QB. But like you I do have concerns about how much longer he'll play at a high level and especially with the smaller injuries he's had piling up. I don't think he's even close to comparable to Teddy, and he would be a huge upgrade here for however long he'd last here. But I would prefer we get a QB on a rookie deal and develop him into being a franchise guy to build around long term.
  13. Was a great season from him, no doubt but he just isn't quite there yet. He's still insanely young and there aren't many young QBs in the league I'd want over him right now but he still has some work to do with being more consistent. It's crazy how much he reminds me of Cam. I really hope for his sake that he doesn't have that inconsistency for most of his career like Cam has, but I wouldn't be surprised if he mixes in some terrible seasons still.
  14. I have no idea where that came from or specifically what it means ( @Zod @LinvilleGorge ?) but I would assume it means that they've somehow confirmed that I have no alt accounts? I've only seen it on @Zod's account and mine and maybe 1 or 2 others though so not sure how they determine that or make sure it's accurate...
  15. Everyone aboard the Chiefs bandwagon for SB week!!
  16. Hayward is the fuging man.. A little old for where our team stands in our rebuild and we still need some more pieces around him but I definitely love having the guy on this team. We had to take our chance on him this offseason or we may have never gotten a player of his caliber. I think we still wind up with a lottery pick this year and hopefully can nab another guy to round out the core here, but if we do make some progress and make the playoffs I'll be happy too. Definitely not sure about Borrego but I do feel confident that given time Kupchak can build a winner here.
  17. And if we can't get any of those top 4 QBs in the draft do you think this offseason can be a big success? My ideal situation is Fields/Wilson/Lance at #8 but if we can't do that, I do think we need to be at least in on those conversations for Watson/Stafford.
  18. @imminent rogaine this and the fact that the Packers traded up for Love last year. If they feel he's close to being ready and Rodgers is still upset about that and able to get them a bunch of assets I could see them moving on this soon. Unlikely for sure, but it really is just a matter of time with him. He's obviously not as realistic as the others.
  19. Yep this is the biggest no brainer decision you'll ever see. FG is pretty much worthless the way the Chiefs are moving the ball and it'd be an unlikely long one, and punting it away is throwing in the towel.
