  1. The question was who should Watson want to play for, not whether or not those teams could make it work...
  2. LA Rams -- massive market, really good team with a HC who looks like he'll stick around as a great coach for a long time. Taxes are rough there but endorsements there will more than outweigh that and I think he'd win at least one SB there. Niners would be a close second for similar reasons (but I like McVay much more than Shanahan), all other teams after that wouldn't even be close.
  3. It's not a headache if they do like Detroit did and make it clear that they're moving on from Matt Ryan. GB couldn't do that because Rodgers is an elite QB playing at an MVP level with no signs of slowing down. Ryan and Stafford are nowhere near that level and much easier to sell the fanbase on moving on from for a full rebuild. My guess is they stick with Ryan as he's still a rock solid starting QB and they can retool and compete with him, but who knows... Would be hard for them to pass up on Fields if he's sitting there
  4. Maybe a 3rd or 2022 2nd. Reports are that he hasn’t even looked good enough so far to be the #2 QB in Green Bay. Their beat reporter said even if Rodgers was released/traded this offseason his guess it that Love wouldn’t start. He was a late 1st round pick as it is and a year of his cheap contract has been used up. Combined with the reports on his progress so far, I don’t think we should consider this unless it’s for a price that makes GB look retarded (I.e. won’t happen).
  5. The stats don't really back this up... There is plenty of blame to go around, Cam included.
  6. Agree, reading that it sounds like he meant to say more along the lines of: I think you want someone who has a history of making plays in crucial situations, WHO IS just very urgent.
  7. College DC job; I'm sure he has an out if he gets an NFL offer
  8. Wilks is also available. If I were a Bills fan I would not be too excited about either of those guys but I do think Wilks in his 1 year as coordinator here was better than Washington.
  9. Definitely agree there. That's certainly more likely than a coordinated wide-spread racial bias in NFL hiring like has been suggested. A the end of the day all of these owners just want to win and if they felt Bieniemy would help them win he'd get hired. I do think on the surface he's a great candidate and better than others getting hired, but we're not in on these interviews and don't know the specifics of his qualifications so it's hard for us to say as fans who really know nothing... Still rooting for the guy and if a HC job isn't in his future I hope he continues to help build that dynasty in KC (in years we aren't contending)
  10. They're doing all of this in a last grasp effort to keep Watson and he's still gonna force his way out anyways, you just watch. This is even worse than Jets territory of bad.
  11. This is truly one of the strangest stock market phenomenons I've ever seen in my life. Enjoying the entertainment of following it from afar.
  12. So Schefter's estimation is that there will be no more than 13 teams who return their starting QB from last year... Locks: - Patrick Mahomes - Josh Allen - Russell Wilson - Ryan Tannehill - Lamar Jackson - Kirk Cousins - Kyler Murray - Baker Mayfield - Justin Herbert - Joe Burrow Near Locks: - Ben Roethlisberger - Tom Brady - Aaron Rodgers - Dak Prescott Uncertain: - Derek Carr - Tua/Fitzpatrick - Daniel Jones - Deshaun Watson - Jared Goff - Jimmy Garappolo - Cam Newton - Trubisky/Foles - Sam Darnold - Drew Lock - Teddy Bridgewater - Matt Ryan - Kyle Allen/Alex Smith/Taylor Heinicke - Wentz/Hurts Last year's starters that are 100% getting replaced: - Drew Brees (retired) - Phillip Rivers (retired) - Matt Stafford (already stated he'll be traded) - Gardner Minshew (Trevor Lawrence). I really just can't see there being all that much turnover. I'm going to assume all the near-locks return as starters next year, which I think is a fair assumption. That is already 14 starters returning as starters for their same team this year... All the ones that are uncertain have varying levels of likelihood of them being replaced as starters next year, but I really can't imagine that even half of those change. There's only so many options to replace them (4ish in the draft, Stafford and maybe Watson). This is a real stretch from Schefter...
  13. Not a big fan at all but it'd be better to get Newman than no one at QB... I will be irate if we roll with Teddy and Grier/PJ (or similar caliber back ups with no ceiling).
  14. This alone should get people absolutely pumped if we do sign Stafford. Still not my first preference but he would be a MASSIVE upgrade on Teddy.
  15. When was the last time a QB of Watson's caliber was available via trade? The answer is never so there is no precedent to compare it to. Poor argument here...
  16. He compares pretty well to Cam, just even more raw. I think he could become a more consistent/better passer with the right coaching too. He's a boom/bust pick, but if he does develop and hit his ceiling he absolutely could be a top 5 elite franchise QB. I prefer Fields by far, and maybe prefer Wilson a little bit, but I'd still be absolutely pumped with Lance. At least we'd have a clear direction at QB...
  17. Lance could have a similar trajectory to Josh Allen if he doesn't bust. I actually like him quite a bit better than Allen as a prospect, but like Allen did, he has a ton of work to do before he'll be ready to lead this team. Would be wise to sit him for a year or even 2 behind Teddy, as much as that would suck for us fans to watch Teddy hinder this offense for any longer...
  18. There is a very active Canes forum over at: https://hfboards.mandatory.com/forums/carolina-hurricanes.26/ Really good discussion and group of fans there, and I've already seen some trickle over from the team board that shutdown recently. That is definitely the place to be for Canes fans online right now, would be very hard to get that to change, though I'd love it if this place became more active. If you ask me the Huddle (Panthers board) is the best sports forum on the internet, despite the team sucking the last few years and the sprinkle of politics coming in from a handful of posters. But it may be tough to get the Canes fans over here as there are not a ton of crossover hockey/football fans, and that other board is all hockey stuff not just Canes so it kind of fills a niche for hockey people that most Canes fans would probably stick with rather than coming over here...
  19. Not disagreeing that many do this but I'll say that completion % is one of the most useless stats out there. What matters is what a QB does with his completions.
  20. Nah it was Cotch's catch that was ruled incomplete which led to the first strip sack on Cam like a play or 2 after that. Cotch caught it.
