  1. Yes but I also think it goes to show that we just don't have many highly paid players on the team since we got rid of a bunch of players last offseason and are just starting a rebuild and haven't had to pay young stars yet. Burns, Moore, maybe Donte, sooner or later Brown/Chinn, etc. will all jump to the top in the next several years.
  2. Ehh not really. He was solid for sure and helped them make the playoffs but that D is great and they are well coached. Running game picked it up late in the year too. He was a piece of the puzzle for them but hardly carried them on his back at all.
  3. More likely we'd have to give up a 4th or 5th (or more) and Teddy for a conditional 7th or something. He has negative value for any team acquiring him.
  4. Shaq is a solid contributor. Overpaid, but he really is not bad at all for us on the field.
  5. Spotrac wasn't clear on any difference between a cut and trade but overthecap suggests that we'd get considerably more cap space if we traded TB: https://overthecap.com/player/teddy-bridgewater/2971/ According to this, releasing him would be $20M dead money this year and $5M dead money next year. Trading him would be $10M dead money this year and $5M dead money next year. Also, it says if we trade him post-June 1 it would be just $5M dead money this year and $5M dead money next year...
  6. If we have a highly drafted rookie sitting behind him it’ll be a 10
  7. Even if it was an actual concussion why is 7 days so unreasonable of a time for him to return? This 19 days keeps getting brought up but it’s a quite misleading stat. What’s the average time in the concussion protocol for first time concussions? My guess is it’s closer to 7 days. And if he’s passing all the tests this early, as has been reported, then he’s already much further along than most players who were in the protocol for longer than 7 days. All signs point to him playing. Of course it’s no guarantee, and it’s possible he could wake up Saturday morning with headaches and dizziness, but based on the info we have so far that seems quite unlikely.
  8. Are you a doctor that has examined Mahomes? Why would you even think about whether he should play or not? None of us have any clue whether he should play.
  9. Oher was in the protocol for like a year. How many others were in the protocol for months because of previous concussions? This is Mahomes’ first time in the concussion protocol and he’s already progressed far enough through it that he’s practicing tomorrow. He’s playing.
  10. Of course it's all speculation Dawg! It's January and we're talking about teams not in the playoffs... What else would you expect? As far as McCaffrey goes, I don't think we should be looking to trade him by any means. He's an extremely important piece here. BUT if we really want to get Watson (I'm not sold on this yet, I think the best option for this team is to draft a QB this year) and the Texans want a young impact player along with a couple 1st round picks (which is decent value) then we definitely need to consider moving McC. The impact players we have that could be of actual significant value to the Texans are McCaffrey, Moore, Burns and maybe Brown. McCaffrey's contract isn't bad but Brown and Burns still being on rookie deals along with their positional value I think makes me rather keep them than McCaffrey. Then it's between him and Moore which I think is a tossup. Both are elite offensive weapons. I can see arguments on either side of that discussion.
  11. Teddy could be included in the deal just for cap reasons, if the Texans would be fine taking 1 year of his contract to bridge a rookie they draft. But it definitely wouldn't add value to the trade for the Texans, and if anything we'd just have to add an extra mid/late round pick to get them to take the contract. If he wasn't traded to the Texans we'd have to find somewhere else to trade him. Couldn't fit both Watson and Teddy here.
  12. I thought that at first but no chance Houston is trading Watson within in the division, even to get Lawrence...
  13. Matt Moore I believe is on their practice squad. No idea how Henne beat him out for the backup job... Moore was great in those starts last year, getting a big win against MN that got them home field advantage and contributed to them ultimately winning the SB.
  14. Yeah hard to read too much into this with the Aints having that good of odds. There is nothing they can realistically do to get Watson, short of trading Kamara and Thomas and getting rid of a bunch of other players too, while eating all that dead money for years to come and fielding a roster even worse than the Texans' was this year around Watson.
  15. I don't know their exact testing processes, but could it be a bunch of false positives that just can't get confirmed to be false/negative before the game tonight? That's my hope anyways...
  16. Really curious now what the deal with Staal was. At first we all thought he was put on the COVID list because he was travelling back to Raleigh due to an injury. Otherwise, why was he the only one at first and why did we play two games and travel? Hopefully all our guys will be fine and this won't be as long of a delay as the Dallas Stars' one. Bummer... And with the Hornets off tomorrow because of the Wizards COVID situation, now I have nothing to watch this week...
  17. Teddy ain't it for sure. But Watson should just be another potential option along with Fields, Lance and Wilson. One of those 4 and I'm happy. A rookie could be a better option depending on how much it would take to get Watson, but both options need to be considered. If we don't get one of those 4 I'd be upset with this offseason, even with Hurney fired.
  18. Reliable local KC source: "Brachial stun" is essentially what it looked like and what the symptoms were consistent with, at least according to several medical opinions I've seen when reading about Mahomes stuff in the last day. All of this from legit KC reporters; I doubt he suffered a concussion. Got put in the protocol because of his reaction after the hit consistent with the official NFL Concussion protocol guidelines https://www.nfl.com/playerhealthandsafety/health-and-wellness/player-care/concussion-protocol-return-to-participation-protocol Now that he's in the protocol, there is no way he can play unless he passes all of their specific steps, so it's definitely no guarantee that Mahomes plays. But if he didn't actually suffer a concussion, which seems likely, then there really shouldn't be any concerns about him passing the protocols. He's already passed all the initial tests and will likely move through it and be cleared by Friday/Saturday.
  19. It actually didn't look like a concussion at all. The team hasn't even confirmed that he was concussed, just that he's in the protocol and passed all the initial tests immediately. Recent reports are that it was a nerve issue in his neck (which is what the hit looked like) that caused him to be all groggy getting up, and got him put in the protocol. If those reports are true, I'd say it's much more likely than not that he gets cleared, though it's not a guarantee.
  20. Really good so far, and he's the main reason I'm excited about the Hornets' future. Ball was an obvious pick, but Kup has done pretty well with our other later 1st rounders, and the contributions we've been getting from 2nd rounders have been great. Hayward was a good signing, as was Rozier. No issues with Mitch so far.
  21. Cam should go to Buffalo for a reasonable backup contract to sit there behind Allen. The way Allen plays, he'd be the perfect backup and could still see reasonable playing time...
  22. That wouldn't be a huge deal if he could find those filler guys in free agency at a bargain like Belichick has his entire career, and many other teams have too. Even DG was pretty good at that, despite his drafting issues (until the Kalil deal, which I still suspect was JR's doing).
  23. If Watson actually wants to go to NYJ then they deserve each other. Have fun with that.
  24. He had some other hits. Not a ton and overall his drafting was definitely below average, even with the 1st round hits. But drafting wasn't his main weakness, it was choosing who to pay and when to pay and how much to pay. He was an absolute pushover in that aspect and that's what set us back much further than his drafting.
  25. I like Wilson but I may think about trading up to 3 to nab Fields over the Falcons in this scenario.
