  1. Reliable local KC source: "Brachial stun" is essentially what it looked like and what the symptoms were consistent with, at least according to several medical opinions I've seen when reading about Mahomes stuff in the last day. All of this from legit KC reporters; I doubt he suffered a concussion. Got put in the protocol because of his reaction after the hit consistent with the official NFL Concussion protocol guidelines https://www.nfl.com/playerhealthandsafety/health-and-wellness/player-care/concussion-protocol-return-to-participation-protocol Now that he's in the protocol, there is no way he can play unless he passes all of their specific steps, so it's definitely no guarantee that Mahomes plays. But if he didn't actually suffer a concussion, which seems likely, then there really shouldn't be any concerns about him passing the protocols. He's already passed all the initial tests and will likely move through it and be cleared by Friday/Saturday.
  2. It actually didn't look like a concussion at all. The team hasn't even confirmed that he was concussed, just that he's in the protocol and passed all the initial tests immediately. Recent reports are that it was a nerve issue in his neck (which is what the hit looked like) that caused him to be all groggy getting up, and got him put in the protocol. If those reports are true, I'd say it's much more likely than not that he gets cleared, though it's not a guarantee.
  3. Really good so far, and he's the main reason I'm excited about the Hornets' future. Ball was an obvious pick, but Kup has done pretty well with our other later 1st rounders, and the contributions we've been getting from 2nd rounders have been great. Hayward was a good signing, as was Rozier. No issues with Mitch so far.
  4. Cam should go to Buffalo for a reasonable backup contract to sit there behind Allen. The way Allen plays, he'd be the perfect backup and could still see reasonable playing time...
  5. That wouldn't be a huge deal if he could find those filler guys in free agency at a bargain like Belichick has his entire career, and many other teams have too. Even DG was pretty good at that, despite his drafting issues (until the Kalil deal, which I still suspect was JR's doing).
  6. If Watson actually wants to go to NYJ then they deserve each other. Have fun with that.
  7. He had some other hits. Not a ton and overall his drafting was definitely below average, even with the 1st round hits. But drafting wasn't his main weakness, it was choosing who to pay and when to pay and how much to pay. He was an absolute pushover in that aspect and that's what set us back much further than his drafting.
  8. I like Wilson but I may think about trading up to 3 to nab Fields over the Falcons in this scenario.
  9. What does that have to do with Mitch sucking?
  10. McLovin has been absolute trash this year. He should be riding the pine the next couple games.
  11. That’s why Svech and Aho need to play together... Not sure what’s up with TT, benched or injury?
  12. That looks right, I haven’t checked the actual numbers, but I do recall him talking about valuing them and them being a part of the equation, which when compared with Hurney, these numbers seem to support. I also recall at least a few times where DG a specifically targeted players that were released or that wouldn’t count towards the formula to preserve the ones we did get. DG had his faults, including as the other poster said trading away draft picks, but I don’t think that he didn’t value comp picks at least to some degree. Would be interesting to look at the average number of comp picks for each team from 2014 to 2018 to compare. I think DG would be around average, with teams like NE, BAL, PIT, GB, etc. crushing it at the top. Hopefully we can become a team in that group with Fitt and Rhule.
  13. In theory Devonte would be a great 6th man, but not if he keeps shooting the way he has been this season... LaMelo frankly should’ve been starting from day 1.
  14. My God those lines are complete insanity. Crippling Svech with Marty playing out of position and slotted too high, and Fast who hasn’t shown anything offensively so far... Svech need to be up with the Finns. Hoping for the best but if we stick with these combos throughout the game I’m expecting us to look as bad or worse as we did the first 2 games, against a much better opponent.
  15. There will not be bad offers this year. They’ll get an absolute haul for him.
  16. Waiting to trade him does nothing but hurt the Texans. Sure they can try to play hardball with Watson and call his bluff or try to mend fences, but there’s no real incentive to doing that if Watson won’t play ball and just wants out 100%. They just hurt themselves to spite Watson which makes no sense for them. It has nothing to do with the Texans’ reputation, it has to do with what they would get in return for a trade. In the NFL assets that are further out in the future hold less value, so if they delay past this current draft there is a value decline there. Then also, to your point, Watson’s reputation and value takes a hit the longer he goes without playing. Yes teams will still definitely want him even if he sits out a full year, but it will absolutely harm his market value. Watson coming off an MVP caliber year in 2020 is worth much more than Watson who hasn’t played in nearly 2 years (which is what it would be if he sits out all of 2021). And in addition, this draft is going to produce 3-4 highly drafted QBs that will take 3-4 teams out of the market for Watson (and also prevent Houston from replacing Watson with 1 of them in this stacked class). All of this would lead to them getting less for Watson if they wait. I agree that it’s possible he may not be traded until draft day, but if he is 100% adamant on wanting out, then he’ll be traded by the end of day 1 of the draft. Not any time after that.
  17. Like I said, it's all dependent on if Watson will sit out. If he will then he just sits out and the Texans are absolutely fuged and will be utter garbage while not getting anything in return for Watson if they don't trade him. The longer he sits out the less they get in return in a potential trade. Also important to note that every single team in the league who has any tiny question about their QB situation will be in on this. Many will be priced out of the market fairly quickly but every single team that doesn't already have their guaranteed franchise QB will be inquiring at least. It's in the Texans' best interest to have this solved before the draft, as if they do trade him they'd have a great opportunity to replace him in this draft.
  18. It all depends how far Watson wants to take it. If he takes it as far as Palmer did in Cincinnati, then he has the leverage and the Texans have very little, especially because of the NTC that he'd only waive for certain teams. Normally the teams have the leverage but with a star QB who is willing to sit out (that's yet to be seen with Deshaun) they have really no choice but to trade him where he wants to go.
  19. McC, #8 overall and 1st rounder next year could do it. Would be worth it for us.
  20. He’s pretty solid. Not untouchable in a potential trade, but I think we should keep him around for a while. Not the best defensively but his shooting has been great and he can get to the basket. Could be a solid complimentary piece here down the road.
  21. In my opinion, QBs can’t be compared across generations so there’s no such thing as a GOAT. And also my opinion, the conversation of greatest QB of the 2000s and 2010s generation is between just 2 players: Rodgers and Manning. Brees and Brady are in the tier below those 2. I wouldn’t think twice about taking Rodgers over Brady. Easy decision.
  22. @Zod or other mods, since when do we allow posts to post reports from actual "fake news." This is some random account with no credibility, that has now had multiple threads posted about it as if it's actually noteworthy (which it's not). I know it's the offseason but still...
  23. What does Luke have to do with Chinn? Luke is a pro scout for us, he's essentially just watching film of our opponents to try to pick things/tendencies up to help us gameplan for them... Sure he kind of mentored him at times and gave him some tips but I wouldn't read a ton into that.
  24. Was watching the Canes, was this game as close as the score indicated? After last game and with Hayward out I was expecting a blowout...
