  1. For those questioning the relevance, he would be a big loss for them if he misses week 1 against us.
  2. Unless his play completely falls off, it's a fair value deal, not a steal but not an overpay either. I do like Terry but I don't see him being a core player for a championship team here. As long as he keeps performing though, he'll still be a very valuable trade asset in 2-3 years. Happy that we locked him up.
  3. Is this supposed to be some stupid joke about him tying his shoe? Or did something actually happen to Haynes having nothing to do with the picture?
  4. Scot, we're not mind readers here. Make that clear in your post. All your post said was: "If we never again trade away a future first rounder, that won't bother me at all." And this entire thread is about upgrading LT by trade, trading up in a draft is completely out of context and irrelevant here.
  5. Here is what your post I replied to said: I'm not sure what Marty or trading for established players have to do with my initial response... And the context of this discussion was potentially trading for Duane Brown, who is an "established player." My point was, don't get too comfortable having 1st round picks every year with Fitterer here, he may very well start trading some of them away like the Hawks did a ton while he was there.
  6. Percy Harvin, Jimmy Graham, Jamal Adams, etc.
  7. You may have to prepare yourself mentally for it to happen though... How many straight years did the Hawks trade away their first round pick, like 7?
  8. I recall the same being said about Andrew Whitworth... Depending on what we'd have to give up I still think it could be an intriguing option. Could even slowly groom Moton to take over on the left side once he retired/moved on and then have Christensen at RT.
  9. That's a bang bang play, I don't think that would draw a flag. Even if we were playing one of the darling teams.
  10. I'm not making claims that we're going to be great this year and it'll be all sunshine and roses. There have been positives and negatives to takeaway from this offseason so far but I'm not going to make any assumptions about how the season is going to go based on how we look in practice. It's silly. Practices (and joint practices in particular) serve many different purposes and coaches have a plan about how to go about it and positive results don't always show up in things we as fans or that media can see. There is so much more to these practices than meets the eye and people get way too worked up about "winning or losing" against the Ravens, Colts, etc. when that really doesn't factor in much at all. 2015 really was the perfect example of this. Nobody here thought there was any chance at all based on how training camp and preseason went that we'd have any real shot at competing. We were coming off a losing season (albeit one that came with a playoff win...) and on paper had no reason to think we would be better. Our starters looked like complete trash in the joint practices and preseason games they played. Yet we dominated our way to 15-1 and a SB appearance (with an unfortunate choke, but still a tremendously successful season overall). There's just no reason to read into it like you are and make up your mind that we won't be able to compete against playoff teams. The point is we still have no idea. Why be negative about it now?
  11. Use your brain man, wow, what a useless response.
  12. We played our starters in the preseason that year. They were thoroughly outplayed by Miami and New England in that preseason.
  13. It's not a comparison. It's a clear example of a team looking like trash in practice and it not mattering. We also looked like trash in joint practices in 2015 before our SB run. Practices and preseason are not at all indicative of how good a team will be, so to make statements about how good the team is based on it is ridiculous.
  14. Lol, it's practice. I wouldn't read anything into it at all. The Patriots have done a lot of joint practices in the last 2 decades and had plenty where they've looked like crap and obviously still had success in actual games.
  15. Are all our starters going to play against the Ravens and if so, for how long?
  16. A solid swing tackle who can provide depth at guard too would actually be a great outcome for a 3rd round pick. Not many 3rd round picks actually stick in the league that long.
  17. My God, we actually got value for him? Wow. And correct me if I'm wrong but isn't trading him away better for our cap than just cutting him (not that it really mattered much on his rookie deal, but still)? Nice move Fitty, what a brutal waste of a high draft pick.
  18. I believe the NFL changed the IR rules permanently to make it unlimited and anyone can come off of IR when they're healthy. BUT if you put someone on IR before the season they can't come back, the player has to be on your roster after final cuts and then put on IR otherwise they're out for the season. I bet we waive/injure him and no one claims him and he goes on our IR and will be back next offseason (only to likely get cut again unless he takes a step forward).
  19. Why doesn't The Golden Calf of Bristol autocorrect any more? Edit: Why are you able to post T ebow and we plebeians can't?
  20. but Funchess put up 70 yards a few days ago!
  21. Mills was a great LB though. Played a very long career and was a 5x pro bowler (when it meant something) and 3x All-Pro, despite being extremely undersized for a LB. That combined with the context of his time with the Panthers (I believe he was the longest tenured original player, and then obviously the leadership as a coach and literally inspiring the team's motto) I think is enough to get in the HoF.
