  1. Either they know what the Jets are doing or they rank Fields/Wilson equally... fug this is not good news at all.
  2. Pretty sure there are multiple Lattimores in the league.
  3. Sure for cheap. He’s been bad lately I think...
  4. He's off the books after this year too, right? So just a bit of free depth at guard for while Melo is out. Can't complain about that.
  5. Yep, thrilled that we're rolling with Ned right now. I believe this'll be his first consecutive starts of his career, hope he dominates again tonight and can take hold of the starting job, or at least be in the mix over Reims when Petr comes back.
  6. Depends on the trade. I don't want to give up any of our guards with Melo out and I don't want to give up 1st round picks but seeing some guys go for pennies on the dollar (Fournier for 2 2nds...) makes me think there could still be a trade for a big out there for us to get relatively cheap. Holmes from Sacramento would be an interesting target.
  7. Pretty sure games will only count if he plays at least 30 minutes, so realistically he has to start 9 more games (and not get pulled early in any of those 9).
  8. https://overthecap.com/player/haason-reddick/5597/ I was looking at this and when I clicked "extension" it looks like the signing bonus cap hit would be charged for each of those void years rather than getting accelerated into 2022 if we extend him, though I've seen conflicting sources on this and am not 100% sure which is correct. Either way whether it's piled up in 2022 or spread out, any new money from an extension would just be added to how this current contract hits our cap. If we let him go, you're right that $4M of the signing bonus would all hit in 2022.
  9. That could definitely happen and it's not a bad question. The new contract would just be added on top of the money we're already paying him for this contract. The $5M signing bonus is spread out over this year and the void years. Here are the cap hits for each year for this deal: (disclaimer; these are tiny bit off, don't feel like dealing with the decimals) 2021: roughly $2M (around $1M base salary and $1M from the signing bonus) 2022: roughly $1M from signing bonus PLUS up to $2M if he hits the sacks and/or pro bowl incentives 2023-2025: roughly $1M from signing bonus EACH year. For discussion sake, let's say we signed him to an extension that was worth $40M over 4 years, with a $20M signing bonus and $5M base salaries each year and keep it simple at that with no roster or other bonuses -- each year's cap hit in this hypothetical deal is $10M. The total cap hits would be: 2022: $10M PLUS 1-3M depending on incentives from this contract 2023-2025: $10M PLUS $1M from this contract's signing bonus which is spread over the void years
  10. Dave that's not true, we only have him for 1 year on this contract no matter what. Those other 4 years will automatically void, they are built in solely to spread out the cap hit (not a big fan of that aspect of it but we'll see how it plays out).
  11. It's the best alternative to Redskins and I bet Snyder does keep it. -- if they don't pick a new name, they'll still be known as the Redskins to most people, despite what they're "technically" named, and that would seem to be a bit of a "win" for Snyder. I have no issues with it, it's a little awkward to say, but I and pretty much everyone I talk football with still just calls them the Skins. If they did do a full rebrand though and did it properly that would be fine too.
  12. Ned should be our #1 goalie unless/until he falters. Mrazek #1b when he comes back. Ned has shown more than enough at this point for that opportunity. He could be our Binnington for a deep playoff run...
  13. Loved Mitchell. Also Peanut Tillman and Jared Allen were fuging awesome to have in the black and blue. So pissed we couldn't finish the job for those guys and others we had who absolutely deserved rings in their careers (TD, Greg, Cam, Luke, etc.)
  14. 2 years $5.5M total; a bit surprised we didn't want to match that but we can probably replace him for cheaper with a later round pick in the draft or a different FA. He filled in admirably this past season but isn't a guy who should be your #1 (which he is in Atlanta as of now...).
  15. Huge win against a solid Spurs playoff team. The schedule does get a bit easier down the stretch I believe and we definitely do have enough talent to still be a top 6 seed and get some playoff experience -- if some of our inconsistent guys (PJ especially) can step it up and try to fill the void of Melo. It really sucks Melo is out and I'd love to get another high lottery pick that we could hit on to pair with Melo going forward, but if we can pull it off and get a top 6 seed I'd also love to see this team back in the playoffs. Even without Melo, guys like PJ, Bridges, Graham, Monk could use some really valuable playoff experience
  16. I can't believe how pretty that 3rd goal was. Kinda thinking that even once Tro and TT are back that we should keep Aho with Necas, they've had such amazing chemistry. Maybe something like: Svech - Aho - Necas Nino - Tro - TT
  17. We had a chance at a top 6 seed, easily. Without Melo we should just tank at this point. If he could return at 100% before the end of the season I'd say we try to salvage it and still get him and the others some playoff experience, but if he's definitely out the rest of the year, just tank. Either way, we better not be buyers at the trade deadline to try to save the season, that would be retarded. Just take the higher draft pick in this (supposedly) loaded draft. What a brutal blow for this team.
  18. Bro we're top 4 in the league with an insanely young team with questionable (on paper) goaltending, missing Mrazek pretty much the whole year, missing Teuvo most of the year and missing Trocheck recently... Rod has done an incredible job here. We need to get healthy and a few more pieces on the roster (legit starting goaltender, another top 6 scoring winger) but otherwise we're in great shape.
  19. Didn't even read it, but that's not surprising at all. Used to get the globe every day here but it turned to complete crap a while ago and has been going even further downhill since. Never really read the sports section but I imagine it's not any different than the rest of the paper...
  20. Who the fug cares what the Boston Globe says? Worthless paper.
  21. Lol scrub team barely eeks out a garbage skills competition W when we’re missing 3 critical players, congrats. Again, enjoy missing the playoffs and your 1 all time playoff series win
  22. Right call on the offsides obviously but that was also like 30 seconds before the goal and had literally no impact on it being scored. Rule should change.
