What is wrong with you guys? John Miller has been our best interior OL... Because he may not be vaccinated you're hoping that he's out due to injury? Or are you that obsessed with having a 6th round rookie play? Brown looks like he could be promising but he's extremely unlikely to be Andrew Norwell part 2. More likely that he sucks worse than any of our starting OL and the other backups ahead of him on the depth chart.

Chinn has still been involved in a lot of blitz looks, just hasn't been showing up in the stat sheet so far. I'm not too worried about his usage. He's been playing great in the role he's asked to play and the D as a whole is playing lights out from top to bottom.

No Respect for the Panthers - What Cowboys Fans are Saying
t96 replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Interesting but sample sizes are small and Eagles were allowing like 13 points per game before Dallas put up 35 on them. I think our D will do well against them but it'll be more like 17-23 points allowed than 10. -
Huge fan of Rhule and have been since day 1, but hard for anyone to be fully sold on him until we see results. This 3 game stretch has been awesome and very promising going forward but he needs to keep it rolling over the course of a season and into the playoffs. I fully expect him to do so and I love how he coaches and how Snow and even Joe Brady have done for the most part.

Charlton questions and ST's needed improvement

I wonder if he's hurt or something. Just such a drastic difference this year and it's really hurting the team... -
Is this the best Panthers pass rush in franchise history?
t96 replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
I say it's too early to say -- possibly but probably not. Our pass rush in 2013 carried the defense to a top 2 and frankly historic season. That secondary was a bunch of nobodies who didn't have to cover very long since our pass rush was getting home so fast. Secondary was a weakness masked by the elite pass rush that year. This year's sack numbers and pass rush have definitely been benefited by our secondary actually being a strength so far this year. With Horn out they'll have a real test ahead of them, even with the CJ addition. We've gotten a fair amount of coverage sacks this year, which are awesome but partly due to the secondary rather than our elite pass rush. But even still our pass rush is the strength of the D. Just not sure yet if it's on 2013's level or surpasses it -
Darny does Dallas, part II

He was on the official injury report with a groin/illness... we figured that was just due to him being involved in trade talks and him practicing right off the bat here confirms that, but he was reported as out for week 3 with a groin injury.

Sounds like his injury that he missed last week with wasn’t really anything. That’s good

It's a fair concern and plays into the value being so low for Jacksonville, but well worth the risk. And frankly there have been plenty of NFL players who have contributed to winning teams/organizations and SB victories without being in love with the game of football. He's extremely talented and if we can even get him to reach part of that potential whether he loves the game or not, this is a great trade. We're not going to be relying on him to be our #1. He'll be #2 or #3 behind Donte and once Horn comes back him too and that's with a stacked pass rush that takes the pressure off the secondary anyways.

Doesn't even warrant a response Scot.

Again, this doesn't really mean anything. Any player put on IR this year can return any time after 3 weeks. He'll obviously be on it longer than that but this does not mean he's definitely out for the season and there is no separate "designated to return" option.

It's annoying to not have the draft picks, yes, but when you look at what they were used for and the value it is absolutely 100% worth it. 2nd rounder for Sam who is absolutely balling and has been well worth that and more so far as a solid starting QB. 3rd rounder for a recent top 10 pick at a huge position of need, and a guy we were targeting in the first round last year and who fits Snow's scheme perfectly. We're not getting better players than that in the draft anyways. And really that 3rd rounder is more of a trade down a little over 1 round, as it's a mid/late 3rd rounder for an early 5th rounder.

No chance. we made the playoffs 4 out of 5 season DG was here. He had some serious flaws but he also brought us one of our most successful stretches of play in team history along with a 15-1 season and SB appearance.
-
Yeah that's a bummer, didn't expect to be without him too. He's been okay but a lesser piece on our DL this year so not the biggest loss but he'll still be missed in the rotation. His run D has been rock solid.
-
I suspect we won't really know until a few months from now. Depends on how he heals and also how the team does in his absence. Timeframe was 2-3+ months, if we continue to play extremely well and his rehab goes smoothly we probably get him back for some of that tough stretch late in the regular season. If we start to throw the season away and aren't really in the playoff mix and his recovery is taking closer to the 3 months end of that timeframe then there's no reason to rush him back and we'd likely just play it safe and shut him down. Hard to have an answer definitively right now.

Dak is solid, their receivers are great, Elliott has looked like trash this year and their OL has been bottom 5 in the league. Their D is mediocre at best. They are not well coached overall. I'm very confident about this one, even without McCaffrey/Horn. Bouye/CJ will help our D continue to be the best in the league even against a better offense. Darnold will be more of the same. Limit mistakes, a few deep shots to keep the D honest but mostly just steadily moving the ball and putting up enough points to get a convincing victory. 27-13 good guys

Panthers were in trade talks for CJ even before Horn was injured
t96 replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
I doubt it and I doubt he was ever all that seriously in play. We never even made him an offer. He doesn't really fit our system. We're all man coverage now, Sherman excelled in zone. -
Also Arnold being a free agent signing makes it even better asset management. He cost us nothing and turned into an asset for us to acquire a top 10 pick 1 year removed. All we did was drop from mid/late 3rd to early 5th, to acquire a top 10 CB... Hard to believe honestly.

Exactly as I expected. No bearing on Horn/Donte situations at all. -
In his limited reps he's looked solid, I'm guessing the coaches are watching practice and are confident he or Thomas or both can step into Arnold's role as a receiver.

Rivera would come out so unprepared in a situation like this, just like he did after bye weeks.
