"Massive red flags" huh? He's a boom/bust project and definitely risky but there are no red flags I know of.
-
I hope this is true. I initially liked Pickett a bit but the more I've researched these QBs the only one I really care for this draft is Willis. Still don't want him in the top 10 though, prefer OL there. Trade down or trade a roster player to get another pick and take Willis mid/late 1st, then hell yeah.
-
Redskins game, I was at it and couldn’t believe it. But that’s one game his rookie year, he’s a great #1 receiver and not easily replaceable. One can argue though we should prioritize QB and OL first and if that means trading DJ to get help there sooner, then fine
-
Fair but it's been clear for a while now he wanted out of Seattle, point is if they didn't trade him he was going to leave anyways in FA or make things ugly. There was way too much smoke there the last few years. Team had no choice, the crying fans don't understand that. They should be upset with him for forcing his way out of there.

Russ is a great QB, a bit overrated but definitely a franchise guy. But he wanted out and they were likely to lose him for nothing, his celebrity wife didn't want to be in Seattle any more. It's a trade they had to make. And Pete Carroll is old, yes, and he's had Russ most of his coaching career, but he's still a great coach. I think they still compete for a wild card spot next season. Seahawks fans are a bunch of crybabies who've been spoiled by their last decade of success and SB win and appearance.

Ian Thomas Contract Details (also TE market is HOT)
t96 replied to Evil Hurney's topic in Carolina Panthers
Thomas isn't a great blocker and Manhertz got 2 years $6M, that's nearly half as much as Thomas got... -
haha yep I was losing it that draft night when we picked DJ of Ridley seemed so stupid at the time. Glad I was wrong, not that it's mattered anyways with how bad we've been

Ian Thomas Contract Details (also TE market is HOT)
t96 replied to Evil Hurney's topic in Carolina Panthers
He's very replacement level though and we just drafted Tremble who showed a lot of promise. It's not as bad as it initially seemed and I understand the TE market but I just don't understand why it was a priority to re-sign him. I don't think he would've gotten this deal on the open market. -
Falcons fans pointing out a ton of drops that looked uncharacteristically bad or "intentional." NFL trying to make it clear this was all after he left the team but I don't completely buy it. Horrible look for the league especially if more info comes out that suggests he could've been betting on games while playing.

One of the biggest things I've learned in life is that when you least expect it, people may surprise you. No I don't have high hopes for any moves that this current administration makes, but I can't control it and will continue to hope that the moves they make work out. If they continue to not work out then I just won't spend as much of my time following this team as the season goes down the drain. But right now I've got an open mind and from what I've seen of this class I like Willis the most and if we go QB I hope it's him. Even if that means that Rhule and company are high on him

REPORT: Panthers have received trade calls for Christian McCaffrey
t96 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Getting a 1st in return to get rid of that contract is a no brainer, even if it is later like the Bills or something. I love McCaffrey, absolute beast and one of the few bright spots of our current playoff drought. But he's a RB in an era where RBs just aren't valued, has a massive contract and hasn't been able to stay on the field lately. For a team without much draft capital we should definitely do this, as much as it would suck to see him getting healthy and lighting it up in another uniform. -
The other QBs in this draft can't even throw the ball in a shirt/shorts or in uniform
-
I think it suggests we're gonna load up on OL in FA. Which may in turn suggest we're going QB round 1 (hopefully Willis if so).
-
Ryan or Matt? yes I obviously know it's Ryan
-
100%. He actually wasn't bad as a FS last year but he is a friggin beast of a playmaker and needs the opportunity to let those skills shine which FS is not a good fit for. Chinn really should be in a Kam Chancellor or even Thomas Davis type of role. Blitzing, covering TEs/RBs, close to the LOS for run support, etc.
-
No. Willis is a massive project, exciting to some degree but odds are he won't work out at all. Not too interested in seeing Cam as starter either, much better than Darnold trash but would rather go for a big dog or just flat out tank.

Judging from Fitt's Comments, Reddick isn't coming back.
t96 replied to Proudiddy's topic in Carolina Panthers
Reddick is a very solid player but not worth what some team will pay him based on back to back double digit sack seasons. Right call as much as it stinks to see him go. But while this is a good move as others have said the Ian Thomas deal is a massive joke and inconsistent with Fitts' reasoning with Reddick so I ultimately just don't know what to say about this front office -
In a heartbeat.

What does a "coach in waiting" even do for us? None of our assistants should be HCs either and McAdoo is the obvious option for interim if Rhule does fail mid-season. I'm cool trading for Watson while his legal status is up in the air if the draft compensation return is tied to his availability, i.e. conditional picks only become 1st rounders if he plays otherwise they are 2nd/3rd/whatever. If not structuring it that way of course you don't risk giving up a ton of assets for him.

I was at that game and couldn’t believe Funchess not attacking the ball in the end zone at the end, and I think Clay got hurt early in the game so we had even less than what you posted... As pissed as I was about that loss I remember being somewhat happy that it was what lead to us canning Shula and like you said getting some WR help finally. Little did I know how things would turn out

What the fug is going on I figured it’d be for like $2m a year. Jesus Christ this fuging team needs to just be removed from the league what a joke
-
Well, here's something different. Remember J.T. Ibe? I didn't.
t96 replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
I feel for Ibe but the thing is if he truly was talented enough to be getting a shot in this league other teams would've come calling. I don't think the hit would've had any impact at all on other teams' interest in him. Rhule is a jackass and sucks too but in this particular case I don't have a huge issue with them letting go of Ibe after that hit. He was such a longshot anyways... -
Daley was a good find in the 6th. The rest of the day 2 and 3 picks -- trash
