Not "as" bad, but still bad, frankly.

Brugler: Next year's quarterbacks "not universally loved"
t96 replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
They're not, they want to know if 4 QBs will go ahead of their pick so they get a better non-QB player... -
A 3rd round pick from an outgoing regime who missed his entire rookie year; maybe not the hill to die on T Dawg! I hope he proves valuable, but the odds are extremely long of him contributing in any meaningful way here...

not really, just a tank decision which is what we should be doing at this point.

Chiefs Eagles is my prediction, with Andy Reid getting the better of his old team and his 2nd ring.

Tiny sample size in a horrible offense. Baker’s best year in Cleveland was a million times better than Sam’s best year anywhere.

Would move us up to 2nd overall.

Baker has much more talent than he showed in his first several games here. He's not the answer for us but he's generally a low end starter/high quality backup at QB. PJ has been a fun story but he's not even an NFL backup in my eyes.

Lol Mixon has 4 TDs; the record is 6 I can see him breaking it

the playoffs pipe dream ended last week with the loss to Atlanta. we better damn embrace the tank the rest of the season. Really need a top 2 pick.

Pretty sure it was Thieve Ave

Miles arrested on felony domestic violence
t96 replied to Captain Morgan's topic in Charlotte Hornets
No one is handing him a 200 million dollar max contract any time soon, if at all. Whether it's the Hornets or someone else, he'll get a low offer with a lot of stipulations in it. He'll have to prove himself on and off the court over probably 2-3 years before sniffing big money again. Obviously I feel for the girl above everything basketball related but in the context of the team, Hornets really lucked out that this happened before he got a max deal from us rather than after. If it happened after we'd be stuck with him on that deal. Now, we have options and hold all the cards. -

I read somewhere that precedent suggests around 22 games or something. He can arbitrate anything over 6 and use that precedent. -

Screw it bring him back, other teams can have criminal scumbags on their teams why not us -
We gotta start taking shots on highly rated QB prospects, even if it's at the expense of potentially missing out on a great player at another position. My plan would be to draft the best QB on our list this year, give him 2 years to show franchise QB ability and if he doesn't, rinse and repeat until we find a franchise guy.

Goff was going the way of Baker/Darnold and other busts before McVay got there, I could easily see McV doing the same with guys like that (who will be available) as he did with Goff. Eagles were rumored to have interest and it's been stated we wanted at least 2 first round picks. Couldn't get a deal done and we just kept him, which was our intention anyways. They needed someone opposite Reddick, wound up getting Quinn instead. I disagree it was a missed opportunity, it was us sticking to our guns on value which is the right call. There was no need to rush into tearing it all down right now, he can still be traded next year too. Every single team values future firsts less, every draft pick value chart accounts for this. How many times have we seen teams add a pick on draft day by trading a future higher pick? If it being in the future didn't decrease the value those would be like future 3rd for current 3rd rather than future 2nd for current 3rd.

McVay went to a Super Bowl with Jared ffriggin Goff lol, even if Stafford falls off a cliff McVay will be able to find a QB to win with, if he's still coaching then. The Rams picks that far out could wind up being really good but they could also still be mid/late 20s and if that's the case they hold much less value than 2023 picks at the same spots. The only way I'd have traded Burns would've been for the 2 firsts the Eagles have this year; NO's will likely be high, Eagles' won't be, but them both being 2023 would've been huge.
-
It definitely does create leverage for Burns, former agents in the media have said so themselves. If Burns is comfortable playing on the tag for a season then he holds all the cards. We're not gonna tag him 2 years in a row and after turning down the picks we better not let him walk so the team kinda has to cave to what he wants at that point.

Geno was really good last year filling in for Wilson too, I think he'll stick around under Pete C for a while, he's fit in well with their offense. PJ is a nice story but I think he's much more likely to go the way of Kyle Allen. I hope that's not the case but I don't have any illusions.

PFF grades from Panthers' Week 8 vs Falcons
t96 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah. We should've made that trade for Hock, could've probably given up a little bit less than the Vikes did so they could move him out of division. A legit TE is a great safety blanket and weapon for a young QB. Everything we do this offseason needs to be setting up for a rookie QB (Young or Stroud ideally) to have success. Coaching, FA, rest of the draft, etc. OL is pretty well set but I'd like to add some more legitimate depth there. DJ is a good start at WR, we'll see how TMJ does the rest of the year but ideally we upgrade on him at WR2 and TE significantly this offseason. Also, I'd like to see us take a shot on a mid round RB to pair with Foreman, especially one who can catch the ball. Chuba was fine a few weeks ago but he's really not that explosive and very mistake prone. Foreman has been great since we traded CMC but I'm not sold on him as our mid/long term starter at HB. -
I may be remembering wrong but I think he actually bet on a Jags game lol
-
The line being very good now is perfect timing to set up a rookie QB for success. Just need the coaching part of the equation. Don’t fug it up Tepper

Let's talk about Donte Jackson and his Fragility
t96 replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
DJ is a great #2 corner but I agree his inability to stay on the field is a concern. Missed 3+ games each of the last 3 seasons. If I recall he's had a lot of lingering soft tissue issues which never seem to go away completely. I still don't think his contract is bad but combined with Horn also missing time, it really stresses the importance of depth at corner. Henderson has really struggled but he's better than most team's depth corners. Also I do like Keith Taylor in a depth role, he had a good game yesterday.
