Incredibly (in a bad way), that like 4 or 5 game stretch from Allen to start the season is the best QB play we've had since a healthy Cam. Not sure what happened to Allen down the stretch that year but the wheels really came off lol. Thank god we finally got aggressive to get Bryce.

Tremendous news and glad we got it done so soon. Was hoping for 9.5 but 9.75 is still gonna be a steal as the cap goes up. Good value right now and he could easily get 11-12 on the open market if he hit it. Glad he'll likely be a career Hurricane

you have nearly 20,000 posts on a panthers message board and you're taking issue with people going to training camp? lol

Verizon is offering NFL Sunday Ticket for free

Really bugs the hell out of me that there isn't an option for cable, only streaming through youtube. Every other sport has a league pass type option through xfinity -
Horrible contract, they should've just traded him and other pieces for an upgrade.
-
Bryce got less $ upfront than Stroud FWIW. Somewhat of an indication that he won't play crazy hardball on a 2nd contract but more just an interesting nugget in the dog days of summer.

and I have my Norwell lol. I also have a Jason Avant for some reason
-
Norwell didn't exactly do great with the Jags and they paid him big... Not sure it would've mattered which we kept. Both were studs in their prime for us but it was short lived unfortunately.

I did some last year at our joint practices with the cheaters, if I am able to make it to Spartanburg this year I would plan to take some photos/videos and do some write-ups.

hoping to go for the jets joint practices

Lol those Eagles RBs suck

Anybody else think we are putting to much on Bryce's plate?

Nah, OL has had considerable investment which is the #1 thing that makes a QBs job easier, much more important than pass catchers. We have a good mix of young receivers with potential and vets, more talent at the skill positions can come in time. Also paid up for the top RB on the market to help take pressure of Bryce. I think he's in a very good position as a rookie, better than any other #1 overall pick. -
As expected, would’ve been completely shocked if this dragged into camp. But happy it’s official
-
I suspect the only reason Mahomes did it is his wife, she’s a massive attention whore.
-
lol yeah me too, threw it on while working out (normally put on live sports but in the summer I don't have much of that not being a baseball fan)

I would think Bryce gets all the snaps with the 1st team, maybe Corral could get a series with them in a game if Bryce has a couple really nice drives prior. Corral should get pretty much all the 2nd/3rd team snaps which lines up with "getting the bulk" per Person. Dalton really doesn't need any snaps at this point in his career, maybe a series or 2 with the 2nd team.
-
I watched most of the first episode, it's interesting but has kinda dragged a bit for me. I may continue to watch but skip through the Cousins/Mariota parts as they bore me.
-
To be fair, Dalton wasn't asked to do anything in that game but still had a TD and no turnovers. They had multiple FGs blocked/missed and 4th down failures in our territory. It was a meaningless game for both teams and played like it. Dalton was not good last year but there multiple other starters worse than him. He actually somehow had the 9th highest passer rating in the league last year. He's a high end backup at this point in his career.
-
I get the reasoning with Dalton but at this point in his career I don't think he needs the reps at all, even in a new system. He wasn't the worst starter in the league last year with the Aints and should be a capable backup for us regardless of how much run he gets in preseason/camp. Generally agree with Bryce playing as much as possible but not sure I want him out there with our backup OL, nor do I see much point in him playing in the 2nd halves vs 3rd stringers.

I will never blame or credit 1 player in a 60+ minute game that features 22 starters and even more players who contribute significantly in rotational snaps and special teams. That said, Kasay picked a horrible time to have a major gaffe and will probably never live it down. Just a massive choke. We don't know what would've happened if he had kicked it inbounds, maybe they still score but maybe they don't. Doesn't matter as it's all runway behind us at this point. Plenty of other plays could've gone slightly different and changed the entire game as well. Kasay was overall an incredible kicker for us and I'll remember him fondly but won't forget the out of bounds kickoff.

Since we're still 9 days away from camp and it's boring as fug in the nfl world why not discuss this. Obviously Reich will do whatever he sees best and we have no impact but still will be interesting to see how much run Bryce gets in the preseason. Personally I'd play him in every game for at least a few series and have 1 game where he gets the full first half with starters. With 3 preseason games now I'm not really clear on how teams treat it, used to be the 3rd out of 4 games would have both teams' starters (minus a few vets) for the entire 1st half, not sure there's a unanimous league wide approach like that any more though. Important to note too with the Jets joint practices we may have some scrimmages that can serve a similar purpose to preseason action.

It's both. Yes Brady won another without Bill but frankly he went to an absolutely stacked team that went all in in the short term for him and also had a very good coach in Arians. Brady may have never even developed into a franchise QB without Belichick.
