  1. Especially considering Kyler went 1st overall and honestly on the field he is a very good player without his size really limiting him at all (and of course Brees and Wilson have had zero issues). Kyler's biggest issue by far is his attitude/commitment. Which is not a concern at all with Young. I like Stroud better but Stroud/Young are clearly the top 2 in a tier of their own in this draft IMO.
  2. I think: Falcons roll with Ridder this year, not wanting to pay the price to get a QB in the draft or Jackson. And I think it's a smart move for the longer term, even though he's not their answer, then they re-evaluate next offseason Bucs bring Jameis back to compete with Trask, essentially just rebuilding and tanking for a QB next year We trade up and get Stroud, hopefully solving our QB problem for the next decade +
  3. so pretty much $70M guaranteed as that $10M vesting in '24 is a lock. If they do cut him after 2 years before having paid out $100M they'd likely have a massive dead cap hit which makes that pretty unlikely. So $60M officially fully guaranteed but really $70M is 100% and $100M is likely. Way too much for my liking.
  4. yeah that'd be an interesting one, I'm not sure he's the ideal WR2 but he won't cost an insane amount like guys who could fit that bill. With TMJ emerging a bit last year with more competent coaching that's a decent mix of types of players. DJ all around WR1, Mecole top deep threat, TMJ big bodied guy with a catch radius. I doubt we spend enough to get him but it'd be nice to snatch Dalton Schaltz away from Dallas. With our OL from last year, a legit QB and those weapons man we'd be in great shape. Could either re-sign Foreman or get another vet like Jamaal Williams and draft another upside back on day 3 and roll with them and Chuba. I'd be so pumped
  5. I think that's what Rap said but that being said it's not uncommon for early reports on guarantees to be misleading
  6. Here's hoping. Stroud with this coaching staff would be incredibly exciting. Especially if we can make some shrewd free agent signings to fill in some gaps, like WR2, pass rusher, another corner, LB... It'd be nice if we trade up to 1 ahead of free agency so we can already know what we're going to do in the draft at QB to help shape our FA.
  7. woof $150M with 100 guaranteed. Glad we didn't make that mistake just to be a wildcard round exit at best
  8. Fair that Mahomes already had his big contract but with him I don't think that makes any difference whatsoever. He's committed to and fully invested in winning. He signed a team friendly deal with pretty damn low guarantees for the best player in the world by far. By all accounts he was never worried about his contract or difficult he's just all about ball. I can't say the same for Lamar. It's the nature of being a running QB, which he 100% is. He takes a ton of hits. Both in and outside the pocket. That stuff adds up, and the hits he takes aren't curling up in a ball protecting himself like a Brady or Matt Ryan would do. They come from all different angles in all different situations which is not good for longevity. He's now let his team with championship aspirations down the past 2 seasons by being hurt and even before that he has never performed well in the playoffs.
  9. he was fine, was much better when he was independent as blackandbluereview or whatever it was called. Since being hired by the team he's been nothing special at all
  10. Man, he plays recklessly, it's part of why he's so damn good. And if the bolded is actually true then that's an even bigger red flag than injuries. Skipping playoffs when you could've played and your team is a legit contender just because of a contract situation? That's a bitch level move from an alleged "franchise QB." Look at the videos of Mahomes desperately begging Reid to not send him to the locker room when he rolled his ankle. That's what you want out of a franchise QB that you're paying a ton of $$ to.
  11. If they give him a 5 year fully guaranteed contract they will be screwed. Dude can't stay healthy
  12. Daniel Jones fuging sucks lol. Daboll is the reason for their success and Barkley too.
  13. Lol why is he still brought up around here?
  14. Not at our current pick, maybe if we somehow traded down and got him.
  15. I'm thinking he gets 2 years $20M and not by us. We have Horn and Donte
  16. He was a somewhat bad owner, possibly (likely?) a bad person but could've been much worse though and he did bring a team to the Carolinas. RIP Big Cat
  17. Reality is those rules factor into the decision making, for every single team. When weighing pros and cons between a few candidates there is no doubt potential compensation for minorities getting hired away from your team IS a pro and goes into that column. Whether people like it or not. I'm extremely happy with our staff hires, regardless of their races.
  18. If Reich/Fitts/etc. like either Stroud or Young just give up the picks and make the trade. Our roster with a few shrewd FA additions and a highly touted rookie QB would honestly be better than any Reich had in Indy except for the 1 year he had with Luck. I'd be feeling extremely good about this season if we can pull that off. If they don't love these prospects then don't force it, we can always trade up for a QB next year if we prefer. But we just can't be afraid to trade picks for a top QB in the draft. Done with the retreads
  19. Keep LaMelo in Charlotte by moving him to the Panthers?
  20. Bucs hired a Seattle guy for OC meaning we probably have Brown if we want him, after the interview tomorrow.
  21. Generally yes, although the Rams, 49ers and Eagles all traded up to get QBs and wound up having tremendous success with a QB other than the one they traded all that draft capital for... Rams won the SB with Stafford after trading a ton for Goff. 49ers had NFCCG runs with Jimmy G and Brock Purdy in back to back years after trading a haul to get Lance. Eagles traded a haul to get Wentz, he contributed to their 1 seed in 2017 but it was ultimately Foles who brought them a championship and success down the stretch run and then also made a brief playoff run the following year. I wouldn't let the price scare me off even if there is a chance CJ or whoever it is busts. Screwing up this move ain't the end of the world. Coaching and ultimately landing a QB that fits well into that coach's system is ultimately what matters most. Gotta take chances to find that QB and it may not work out. Well worth the risk in my opinion.
  22. No team is giving him what he wants, neither NO or TB has any cap space, in fact both are significantly over the cap and any moves they make to get under, let alone under enough to sign Carr, will deplete their rosters to a significant degree. Carr wants to win, he can win here for a year or 2 and he'd have every opportunity to hold off a rookie QB if he does play well enough.
  23. Sign Carr as bridge. Get Stroud or Young (ideally Stroud) even if it means trading up.
