  1. yep and honestly if I was a pats fan I'd be pretty damn concerned that their on-the-roster backup is Matt Friggin Corral who will have like a week in the system before the season starts. I would guess Belichick tries to pull some shenanigans with eventually activating Zappe and trying to get Corral on the PS but still, Jones is a highly questionable starter as is and has some injury history. Corral has played considerably worse in preseason against backups and 3rd stringers than Zappe has played in games that matter vs starters... Not that I think Zappe is that good either but they have serious issues at QB and on offense. Patricia was an easy blame last year but this year it's all on Belichick
  2. Yeah that wouldn't make a lick of sense. 1 possibility (though not likely in my view) is that we are extremely close to a contract extension and his agent told him to sit out until pen to paper is official to prevent a last second injury causing the deal to get scrapped (it's a business after all). Most likely just unrelated to contract.
  3. lol good by me he sucks and they ain't gonna fix him. I like the kid but that's the reality
  4. Panthers due to coach/QB combo. Aints should be better this year with a solid seasoned vet QB vs ours being a rookie but D Allen is such a terrible HC. Falcons/Bucs not in the convo due to QB
  5. I think we can still win games early on though, this isn’t unexpected from Fitt to say but despite the somewhat disappointing preseason I still believe this team can and will win the division (and do so with a solid winning record, 10+ wins). 4-4 after 8 then 6-3 in the last 9 is my guess
  6. I agree about not putting too much stock into it but by its nature teams that won their division will generally on average have a harder schedule than teams who finished 4th in their division. There is of course variation year to year in how teams do but it's rare for a lot of the top teams to drop off a ton, at least not enough such that the 1st place team winds up with an easier schedule than the 4th place team.
  7. Gano is/was better than people give him credit for overall but yeah everyone knew Butker was the real deal and at that position you go with the cheap younger option over the decent vet (who had also not shown much clutch ability by that point).
  8. lg gonna bust in his pants reading this. I'm still not sold on Howell, at best he'll be an Andy Dalton type and even that I find unlikely.
  9. it's short and only 16m/yr https://www.spotrac.com/nba/rankings/cap-hit// look at the players around him and those with bigger contracts than him, plenty of guys I take PJ over in a heartbeat and he is still young with potential. He averaged over 15pts/game last year on ok %s, is solid defensively and on the boards, even if he doesn't get any better, this contract is not an issue and easily tradeable if need be. He may be better off the bench but there are plenty of guys who do come off the bench making more so that wouldn't make it a bad contract. And as is I think this should be our starting 5: PG: LaMelo SG: Miller SF: Miles PF: PJ C: Mark
  10. Awesome contract, even if we wanted to move him before it’s up he’s a valuable asset in a trade on this contract.
  11. Hate it for him and us but he’s not an NFL caliber backup even
  12. Thielen is such a sick red zone guy, I could see him catching half of Bryce’s TD passes
  13. I’ll take the full season sample size of games that matter over under 50 snaps in games that don’t matter… if it stretches into the 2nd month of the regular season I’ll start getting worried.
  14. Chark was 27th in yards as the defacto number 1 on a bad Jags team that played from behind a ton and had pretty terrible WRs, sure he "made the pro bowl" but considering a guy like Tyler Huntley has also made a pro bowl I don't consider that to mean anything. Chark is a solid deep threat when healthy but I wouldn't say he's much more than that. Important skillset to have but Thielen moves the chains and gets TDs and is an incredible route runner. Out of the slot that is way more important to this team than Chark. And while Mingo will probably have growing pains, he has the overall skillset to be a legit #1 WR and has already been earning Bryce's trust as his favorite target throughout camp. I view that as more important to this season than Chark as well. Due to rookie growing pains a healthy Chark could maybe have more of an impact on the field immediately but Mingo will easily surpass him given time. I'm super high on Mingo though
  15. one of my favorite non-Panthers players of all time and I'd kill to see him in a Panthers jersey even at 40 after 10 years of retirement. but not gonna happen
  16. he never did poo with the jets though... like 200-300 yards a year there despite plenty of opportunity. if Fhule was still here being a Baylor guy maybe but I don't see any reason to bring that dude in
  17. Not saying he'll be as good as Metcalf or Brown (his fellow Ole Miss alum and comps) necessarily but I can see him matching or even exceeding those guys' rookie year production... 900 yards/7 TDs for DK, 1051 yards/8 TDs for Brown
  18. Chark is an important cog but I think Mingo and Thielen are our 2 more important WRs
  19. Lol his “evidence” backing up “the Panthers not being too thrilled with having gotten Young” is some gym meathead and his wife. What a retarded segment
  20. it was really quiet but I briefly heard them talking about the riot kickoff jam and CJ and TD being there
  21. Voth has ALWAYS hedged when it comes to expectations for this team. That's his MO.
  22. the good news is Bryce has looked the part despite the poo around him
  23. I never bought the superstar staff narrative but I think it's a little ridiculous to attempt to judge coaching in the preseason
  24. why the fug did we take bryce out?
  25. well if Bryce is gonna get roughed like that that's the best way lol brushed in the facemask.
