  1. the good news is Bryce has looked the part despite the poo around him
  2. I never bought the superstar staff narrative but I think it's a little ridiculous to attempt to judge coaching in the preseason
  3. why the fug did we take bryce out?
  4. well if Bryce is gonna get roughed like that that's the best way lol brushed in the facemask.
  5. Damn what a beautiful 3rd down play. Bryce and Thielen both with the veteran wisdom there
  6. I think Mingo is going to be Bryce's favorite target come season end to be honest.
  7. good poo Bryce and Mingo. Finally
  8. Mingo gotta catch that
  9. There are 2 posts in that thread about the game today lol
  10. Come on dudes why aren't we discussing this game already? How much will Bryce/starters play? Predictions, bold or otherwise?
  11. With Lewis' account I believe he's a close childhood friend of Sean Tuohy, worth noting regarding his defense of the Tuohy family.
  12. It's a fair point that the publicity from the movie likely did increase the value of Sean Tuohy's business, but I'm not sure what right Oher thinks he would have to any of that increase in value... Tuohy I believe sold his business a few years ago for $200M, not sure what it would've been worth before the movie but by all accounts it was very successful before they even met Oher anyways. Regarding the conservatorship, it being in place is definitely weird and strange but the question is has the family used it to actually make decisions for Oher or take any of the money he has earned? From what I've read it doesn't seem like it. The family claims it was in put in place early due to some NCAA rules (not sure what those could possibly be...) and in practice hasn't been "used" at all since then. The not adopting him officially if he thought they had is certainly questionable and would cause me to lose trust in them too if I were Oher.
  13. I don't believe the Tuohy family made much of anything at all off of the movie, the $ from the movie stayed in hollywood aside from the author of the book selling the film rights for a really low amount (relative to box office) which I believe was split with the Tuohy family (allegedly including Oher), it was just a very low amount compared to what Oher thinks he deserves from it. Follow the $ and it'll lead to Hollywood not the Tuohys, and I'm pretty positive the studio has everything locked in stone legally. I feel really bad for Oher with his concussion issues and this situation but I don't think he's going to come out of this ahead. Maybe it'll help his upcoming book sales.
  14. A TD from the first team O. No injuries. Some positive 3rd thing that doesn't matter as much.
  15. He's better than Brady. Comparing players using team statistics in a game with 22 starters and even more contributors is a fool's errand. 1 truly objective stat for their playoffs is Rodgers career passer rating 100.1, Brady 89.8, Rodgers' rating is significantly better.
  16. Worth noting that his record with the Jets the past 2 years is actually 1 win worse than the Panthers' record the past 2 years, with most of that having Matt fuging Rhule coaching. Both teams have had equally shitty QBs I'd say so that's not a good excuse for Saleh.
  17. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/jets-cancel-second-day-joint-130344373.html This dude literally fuging described (in bold) what the jets did to us after we whooped them in the first practice and their narrative was we were soft for cancelling the 2nd practice for a legit reason with the rain. fug them, I hate the patriots with a passion but I hope the douchebag jets finish last in their division and miss the playoffs
  18. Hunt was good but isn't really any more, at least he can catch so yeah he may be an upgrade on Chuba. However he does seem to be in demand and I have no interest in outbidding the other teams for him. And I wouldn't cut Chuba, he's still a good runner and no reason not to keep him as the #3 if we added another RB. Sanders will likely be a bellcow so hopefully he just stays healthy.
  19. I saw what the Tuohy kid said and I tend to think he seems credible and honest (I may be wrong, just my reading of it). Really sad what has happened to Oher with the career ending concussion issues and now this stuff. I do feel for him but I'm not sure the Tuohy family are bad guys here
  20. Ickey struggled, uncharacteristically, but again it means nothing with a sample size of 11 snaps. That's part of the reason I'm not concerned, Ickey isn't going to play that poorly this season. At certain times of certain games sure, pretty much every player is susceptible to short stretches of poor play. But over the course of the season I expect him to be a top 10 LT. The others aren't starters so just need to stay healthy and get Corbett back ASAP.
  21. To all the overreactors out there, it's incredibly important to put this first preseason game into some perspective. Bryce and the starting OL only played 11 snaps. We were missing Corbett and Sanders which will not be the case for most of the season. Thielen, Chark and Mingo all played less than the 11 snaps Bryce played. And even still there were only a few actual bad plays from the starters (Bryce overshooting Chark due to pressure, Laviska messing up his route, and the final sack). Even aside from the usual pre-season vanilla stuff, etc. it's really impossible to draw any conclusions whatsoever from a mere 11 snaps. Put away the pitchforks, playoffs are still on the menu
  22. dude that is literally not possible. Reich could absolutely suck but the way he carries himself will never drop to Rhule's level of suck. I could see Reich further enforce making us miss Rivera though, really hoping not.
  23. It's always felt so unnatural to me, obviously it's worked for several teams who've won it all with a 3-4, none more obvious than Denver against us but I completely agree. I hate the 3-4, I do (for now) trust Evero to make it work for us but I think it's easier to have a successful 4-3 than 3-4.
  24. The division is no better than last year, probably worse with Brady retired and the Bucs likely bottom feeders. 1st overall QB coming off 7 wins last year with a superstar coaching staff assembled and the expectations should be high. The pressure should be on this staff.
  25. That preseason game has had zero effect on my opinion of Reich. I’ve had concerns about Reich all along, and all I’m saying is that if we don’t outperform last year by at least a few wins in a worse division now that we have a QB then he should be on the hot seat. This team is built and ready to start winning now, if we waste Bryce’s rookie contract we won’t ever win poo unless he somehow turns into Mahomes caliber and takes a bargain deal like Mahomes did.
