  1. We will forever be tied to the Chiefs dynasty for giving them Butker. fuging brutal
  2. That was a terrible spot on the 3rd down catch. Chiefs should’ve challenged rather than that predictable run up the gut
  3. Even at their ages couldn’t be any worse than the Ravens scrubs so far today
  4. Stroud and company managed just 3 offensive points through 4 quarters. Mahomes and Reid and company already 2 TDs on 2 drives. Lol
  5. Let’s go Chiefs!!! Mahomes gonna win 8 SBs
  6. He wasn’t a bad ST coordinator, best wishes to him as long as he doesn’t go to a rival, then fug him
  7. idk, it's really so weird he coached a great overall unit 2 years ago then we fell flat on our face this year with the same OTs and C (granted, G was a disaster due to injuries). I may consider giving him another shot in a non-Reich scheme. But mainly because I'm not really a fan of the other options out there. Maybe pull Scarnecchia out of retirement lol
  8. after that game he became Riverboat Ron and aside from a brutal game against Arizona where Cam imploded (along with the rest of the team) we absolutely dominated the rest of that year. I really do think that 2013 team is our best team ever on the strength of that elite D. As much as we were screwed in the SB a few years later, we really should've beaten the 49ers that year, refs totally fuged us
  9. lol wow. 21-38 career record as HC including a 4-7 stint as Falcons interim HC already. definition of bad retread hire.
  10. I mean the ultimate goal is to win a SB, anything else is failure ultimately. Just saying, the coaches you call success stories right now really may not wind up being actual successes. Yet to be seen on all of them except Tomlin but his situation is somewhat different given the contexts -- he took over for a long time successful coach who was retiring not fired due to poor performance, and the stability of the front office remained in tact his whole career. Plus fair to wonder if he'll have success without a Roethlisberger at QB who he inherited. But I digress. Fair enough on Taylor but I don't see him coming any closer than that going forward, that was their shot.
  11. I bet Evans goes to the Chiefs, they'll be shopping hard for WR in the offseason and are easily the best situation for any WR to want to go to.
  12. yeah, on the surface keeping Evero makes a ton of sense but what's most important is that it's Canales' decision and not Tepper telling him he has to keep Evero.
  13. Redskins with McVay as OC: 2014: 13th in YPG, 26th in PPG 2015: 17th in YPG, 10th in PPG 2016: 3rd in YPG, 12th in PPG Bucs with Canales: 2023: 23rd in YPG, 20th in PPG Who knows how Canales would do with 2 more years as OC (and with a better QB like Cousins), that's partly why I'm not a fan of the hire, we need to see more. But his first year as OC really isn't that much different than McVay's. A bit worse in YPG, a bit better in PPG but both were "mid." Again the point isn't to compare Canales to McVay, of course McVay was a much hotter candidate and in hindsight has proven to be one of the best HCs in the league. Just saying if Canales can prove to be close to that level as a HC as well there is a blueprint for quick success here.
  14. yeah this is a good sign that Morgan is running the show. Not the biggest fan of keeping him considering how bad the team he's had a large hand in building has been but at least we likely finally have a HC hired by a GM so they are both on the same page and have the same vision of the team. The Hurney/Rhule/Fitterer/Reich situations were all so completely out of sync.
  15. Not disagreeing with your overarching message but these maybe aren't the greatest examples. None have won a SB or come that close yet (pending Campbell) except for Tomlin who became coach of arguably the most stable organization in the league and inherited a SB winning team.
  16. I'm probably making a huge mistake letting myself have any positivity about this team knowing I'll almost certainly be let down and I'm not a fan of the Canales hire but as I'm ever the optimist, I can't help but think about the best case scenario this year. That best case scenario could actually closely mirror the LA Rams when they hired McVay. If Canales can prove that he is the real deal, I think our roster is in a similar shape to LA's that year he took over. Rams went from 4-12 with rookie 1st overall pick Goff to 11-5 in year 1 with McVay and Goff a pro bowler. Rams D had some scattered talent but outside of Donald no true difference makers. Their O had no clear difference makers except maybe Gurley who was coming off a very poor year. Their OL had a lot of talent but had underperformed before McVay took over (sound familiar??) and yeah adding Whitworth in FA was huge. And they had no 1st round pick just like us this year. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2016_Los_Angeles_Rams_season https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2017_Los_Angeles_Rams_season Goff rookie year: Year Team Games Passing Rushing Sacked Fumbles GP GS Record Cmp Att Pct Yds Y/A Lng TD Int Rtg Att Yds Y/A Lng TD Sck SckY Fum Lost 2016 LAR 7 7 0–7 112 205 54.6 1,089 5.3 66 5 7 63.6 8 16 2.0 6 1 26 222 5 2 Bryce rookie year: Year Team Games Passing Rushing Sacks Fumbles GP GS Record Cmp Att Pct Yds Y/A Lng TD Int Rtg Att Yds Avg Lng TD Sck SckY Fum Lost 2023 CAR 16 16 2–14 315 527 59.8 2,877 5.5 48 11 10 73.7 39 253 6.5 26 0 62 477 11 6 Canales absolutely has his work cut out for him just like McVay did but in a best case scenario he could get the most out of Bryce and the OL talent and our D has Brown (not Donald level of course) and enough other decent pieces to where we saw some positives on defense under Evero despite the O putting them in a tough position every single game and despite all the injuries we had. So basically a surprisingly quick turnaround is not impossible and has been done before. We'd need Canales to be as legit as McVay and get the most out of a perceived bust 1st overall QB but it can happen. Flame away
  17. would be nice to see Carroll join him here in some role. after last year's shitshow we need our coaching staff to all be on the same page so I expect much of the staff to have worked with Canales in the past. Will be interesting to see if we keep Evero, hopefully Tepper isn't forcing it on him but if he wants to keep him then I'm all for it.
  18. only hires that would've excited me would be Harbaugh or Carroll
  19. Not a fan and little reason to remain optimistic with Tepper making the decision but I’ll give him and Morgan a chance, really hoping they succeed
  20. Not really, Tannehill was extremely underrated on some really bad Dolphins teams before he tore his acl and went to Tennessee. His stats got a bit better on Vrabel's team (largely because of Henry opening up the offense I'd argue) but he was always very solid before that. 4 straight, the first 2 barely above .500. Then 11 and 12 win seasons where they faceplanted in the playoffs each year followed by 2 pretty terrible losing seasons. I disagree he's a smart in game coach, yes they have been tough and he's a good motivator but that only gets you so far. His schemes and strategy just won't cut it in today's NFL, his teams were never viewed as a legitimate threat to win it all any year. Would I take what they had over what we've had the last several years, yeah absolutely, but I think we should strive for better than that and a HC who can actually lead us to sustained success and a SB win (or multiple). I don't ever see Vrabel doing that and his message and leadership eventually wears thin.
  21. Vrabel is very overrated. They had 1 nice cinderella run his 2nd year there riding the high of the energy he brought to the team but he's just not a great coach and he's too old school especially on offense. The Titans had a great roster with a legit 2nd tier franchise QB for a few years and top 3 RB in the game and yet they came up short every year except that 1 mentioned above. I just don't see how he makes any sense for this team right now.
