Depending on the price it'd be hard to not get extremely excited about Watson, but I wouldn't want to give up too much and not be able to build a contender around him while adding that contract. I definitely suspect other teams will outbid us for him but there are a lot of factors that could potentially align result in him being a Panther. Realistically, I think the best option is to take the best QB out of Fields/Wilson/Lance that is available in the 4-8 range. Hopefully one falls to us and we don't have to trade up but if we do have to trade up a few spots to guarantee we get one, then fine by me. I agree on Watson... I don't think the price will be as high as you've suggested in other threads here but I do think it'll wind up being more than I would want to pay -- though the team still may be willing to give up a ton for him... I'm mixed on Stafford. I think he's been dragged down in that sh*thole Detroit franchise and is definitely a legit franchise QB. But like you I do have concerns about how much longer he'll play at a high level and especially with the smaller injuries he's had piling up. I don't think he's even close to comparable to Teddy, and he would be a huge upgrade here for however long he'd last here. But I would prefer we get a QB on a rookie deal and develop him into being a franchise guy to build around long term.

Was a great season from him, no doubt but he just isn't quite there yet. He's still insanely young and there aren't many young QBs in the league I'd want over him right now but he still has some work to do with being more consistent. It's crazy how much he reminds me of Cam. I really hope for his sake that he doesn't have that inconsistency for most of his career like Cam has, but I wouldn't be surprised if he mixes in some terrible seasons still. -

I have no idea where that came from or specifically what it means ( @Zod @LinvilleGorge ?) but I would assume it means that they've somehow confirmed that I have no alt accounts? I've only seen it on @Zod's account and mine and maybe 1 or 2 others though so not sure how they determine that or make sure it's accurate... -

Everyone aboard the Chiefs bandwagon for SB week!! -
Hayward is the fuging man.. A little old for where our team stands in our rebuild and we still need some more pieces around him but I definitely love having the guy on this team. We had to take our chance on him this offseason or we may have never gotten a player of his caliber. I think we still wind up with a lottery pick this year and hopefully can nab another guy to round out the core here, but if we do make some progress and make the playoffs I'll be happy too. Definitely not sure about Borrego but I do feel confident that given time Kupchak can build a winner here.

And if we can't get any of those top 4 QBs in the draft do you think this offseason can be a big success? My ideal situation is Fields/Wilson/Lance at #8 but if we can't do that, I do think we need to be at least in on those conversations for Watson/Stafford.

@imminent rogaine this and the fact that the Packers traded up for Love last year. If they feel he's close to being ready and Rodgers is still upset about that and able to get them a bunch of assets I could see them moving on this soon. Unlikely for sure, but it really is just a matter of time with him. He's obviously not as realistic as the others.

Yep this is the biggest no brainer decision you'll ever see. FG is pretty much worthless the way the Chiefs are moving the ball and it'd be an unlikely long one, and punting it away is throwing in the towel. -

Definitely doesn't bode well for the Bucs in the SB. Bills' OL is better than theirs and Allen is wayyy more mobile than Brady at this point. Chiefs pass rush had been underwhelming lately but they definitely have the talent to get consistent pressure like they have today. Frank Clark has been invisible before today but dominated the playoffs last year. If he and Chris Jones get going the Bucs won't have much of a chance, but we'll see... -

Is college football the same way with a handful of teams dominating every year? I don't even follow that closely to know that except that Bama is in the mix every year... I definitely watch NBA playoffs a fair amount, I do think that's exciting, but hard to get that into the regular season for whatever reason. Also, unlike the NFL, the games individually mean so much less. -

This is why you don't settle for FGs against the Chiefs. Thought McD would've learned that after seeing Ron consistently make the wrong decisions outside of that 2013 season... -

Never really been able to get that into it... I'll watch some of the big games at times but have never really been able to keep up with the players as they're constantly turning over every year and don't have any teams I particularly care about so it's hard to watch and follow. Maybe I'll get more into it at some point -

Fair enough. I've always liked the sport of basketball but the NBA has been terrible the last few decades with the same teams winning it every fuging year and the Hornets being absolute trash. Started to get a bit more into them this year but with how bad they've been that'll probably end at some point... Canes have been great though -
I think this is fair, but many of us are rightfully getting pretty damn antsy with the QB position, and I think it's an usual year where there are so many options available. 4 QBs in the draft who can be true franchise QBs and are worth a top 10 pick (which we have, hopefully, for the last time any time soon). Then very rare opportunities for veteran franchise QBs in Watson and Stafford, and maybe Rodgers or even Dak. I just don't think there's a better opportunity than now for us to get our franchise QB.

Sure, let's include him (I just don't think he'll be realistically available...)

Was one of the few bright spots for a stretch there, but been rough the last several games... Just when the team makes you think they might be heading in the right direction they start playing like absolute poo -

You could put the Hornets on, their play will put you right to sleep. -

Yeah but nobody around the league thought he'd be this good. Of course the Chiefs traded up for him and clearly thought very highly of him but even Reid has said he never imagined it'd turn out as well as it has; and if they knew he'd be this good they'd have traded up even higher to get him... -
The Carolina Panthers need to get either Deshaun Watson, Matt Stafford, Aaron Rodgers, or a QB in the top 10 in this draft in the 2021 offseason for it to be a successful offseason.

I can't blame any Panthers fans or the team for completely disregarding QB prospects (Mahomes, Watson) that draft... Cam was 1 year removed from an absolutely dominant MVP season. Yes he had the shoulder injury in late 2016 but nobody knew it would hinder him as much as it ultimately did and you don't move on from him in that situation. -

I agree but I also thought that the 2013 Broncos were a lot better than the Seahawks that year and that we were a lot better than the Broncos in 2015... Anything can happen and I will really hope that the better team (the AFC team) wins in 2 weeks but I won't assume anything. -

Bills should be running the ball here. Whether they score a TD or not they don't want to be giving Mahomes the ball back again with even like 40 seconds left... -

I disagree with that, in a sport where teams roster 53 players and start 22 with many more contributing consistently you can't pin team success on 1 player. Dan Marino has a legit argument for GOAT QB (or at least greatest of his generation with QBs across generations being hard to compare). Plus I do think that Mahomes will get multiple more championships, starting this year.
