Baker was fuging atrocious here, and towards the end of his Browns tenure. I don't miss him at all. I miss Sam more, but neither was ever the answer here.

and cuz fug em

I really wanted Chiefs/Lions week 1 rematch last year and barely missed out on it because the Lions choked against the 49ers. My prediction is we get that this year. Ravens are absolutely legit though and if they meet the Chiefs I think they'd have a better chance than they did last year (barring the Chiefs trading for some elite WR or Rice somehow returning for the playoffs).

Henry seems to have an 80+ yard run every game lol. Dude is insane. We shoulda taken him that year.

what's the context here?

stick a fork in em

I feel bad for all the Panthers fans going. Hope they can atleast have a blast in Germany, maybe even skip the game entirely lol

Baker sucks lol, he's gonna spiral out of control this year. Not the Bucs answer at QB

I mean yeah obviously but have the last several weeks not shown y'all yet that Bryce is far from our only issue. Canales is an absolute joke on offense even with Dalton being a huge upgrade from Bryce. Our roster on defense is very possibly the worst of all time. This team is 100% ass outside of Bryce. Not remotely defending Bryce, he's the biggest bust of all time and I can't wait for him to be off our roster. But Tepper is to blame for ruining the franchise from top to bottom, it's not just one move in a vaccuum that sunk this team.

Led the team in receiving, did he actually look good or just garbage time production?
-
Flipping over to the chiefs game. Thanks Tepper you douche!

Chiefs miss out on 2 of their top targets. Get on the phone to send them Diontae please

Everybody is talking about resigning Chuba Hubbard or Diontae Johnson

Horn is shadowing the other team's best receiver lol this means nothing without context. -

Jackson has been phenomenal for what we paid for him and compared to expectations. I’d consider keeping him around depending on contract. I don’t view him as a huge priority. And let’s not act like we’re set at CB because he’s been average. The position group is still a weakness, like every position group on D. Yes pass rush is the weakest but there just isn’t any strength on D. Horn if healthy is borderline elite but the rest of the corners are underwhelming and the safeties suck. We need to completely 100% overhaul the D -

We’ve been watching different games apparently . MJ has been average at best. Horn has been a shutdown corner. Not even close -
If We Don't Win Another Game. Do We Make Any Trades??
t96 replied to Hoenheim's topic in Carolina Panthers
Lol I'm not trying to disagree here as I do get the sentiment but this also works both ways... plenty of guys could (rightfully) think that they will have more production on other teams that can put better players and coaching around them. Diontae in particular still has never played with any QB coming even remotely close to being elite (Big Ben the last couple years of his career wasn't even close to what he was in his prime) -- put him on the Chiefs, Bills, etc. and he probably has a good chance to blow his production up to this point out of the water. It's no guarantee but these guys also have huge egos and I'm sure this type of thinking enters his mind when thinking about where he wants to be longer term after this year. -

If I'm a year away from FA I'm not re-signing in Carolina for "fair market value." -
we had Alex Armah who actually was pretty solid for a FB these days. It's a dying position and hard to find an elite lead blocking FB; they don't come developed and polished out of college like the old days
-
Yes. OL is legit good this year, just as it was 2 years ago. Still not sure I'm a fan of how much $ we are investing in interior OL rather than drafting/developing, but the OL is easily our biggest strength on the team right now. It's just that everything else sucks lol
-
Didn't word that the best but basically an abundance for our situation this season -- depending on how we want to invest in Diontae going forward. If we don't plan to keep Diontae long term there is absolutely zero need for him this year. Also Thielen is not a long term option for us and while I like the guy he's not some amazing leader we need to keep around to change the culture. He is an easy trade candidate. Coker is earning more reps/looks, and Diontae being a guy who wants the ball in his hands every play is impacting Legette's development as he should be getting more opportunity as well. JT Sanders while not a WR should be getting more looks too. Season is already over and it's time to look at the future. No obviously we don't have an abundance of WR in general and going forward but if we don't plan to keep Diontae we have 2 WRs who we could get good assets for and probably should look at trading.

I don't follow college football closely so I can't really say much but it seems the '25 QB class isn't that good and we badly need some cornerstone players. If there are "sure-thing" (or as close to one it as you can get) defensive players at any position available at our pick I'd consider that, but would really love it if we could trade down and get a haul. I've generally been of the mindset recently that we need to keep drafting a QB kinda high every 2-3 years until we hit on one, but the D so badly needs an infusion of some talent that I'd be ok postponing that plan this year and looking at QB in '26. Or maybe look at a QB in the 2nd round with that Rams pick we have.

I've come to be a big fan of Chuba but I'm also pretty excited about Brooks. Chuba is a UFA and playing himself into a big contract (for a RB anyways). If we can get a real good look at Brooks before the trade deadline and he plays well I'd definitely consider trading Chuba to a RB needy team for draft compensation. We need to build up the D badly, and I don't see much reason in the modern NFL to have a double trouble type situation at RB. Chiefs would be an interesting deadline partner as we potentially have an "abundance" of both WR and RB, 2 areas they are weak in this year due to injuries. I could see us getting a 1st and 3rd or 4th for Chuba and Diontae, who would both be rentals for them and possibly (likely?) guys we won't give big contracts to. But worth it for the Chiefs to help them with the threepeat effort. Could also swap out Thielen for Diontae if we decide to keep him longer term, which is certainly possible the way he's played lately. Would absolutely suck to either let Chuba/Diontae walk for nothing in free agency or to be forced to overpay them to keep them here, as I can see them wanting out due to us sucking unless we overpay.

We were up 7-0 and were running the ball early until things spiraled out of control. Again, I don't disagree at all that we should focus our offense around running the ball but it's damn hard to do with such a terrible defense. In the modern NFL you just can't base your offense around the run unless you have an elite defense. When you need to score a lot of points these days you do it by passing the ball. The rules are just so favorable for passing offense that if you don't take advantage of it you won't put up big points. Which we need.
-
I do agree but it’s hard to commit to the run when you know the D is going to allow 30+ points a game
