The other QBs in this draft can't even throw the ball in a shirt/shorts or in uniform
-
I think it suggests we're gonna load up on OL in FA. Which may in turn suggest we're going QB round 1 (hopefully Willis if so).
-
Ryan or Matt? yes I obviously know it's Ryan
-
100%. He actually wasn't bad as a FS last year but he is a friggin beast of a playmaker and needs the opportunity to let those skills shine which FS is not a good fit for. Chinn really should be in a Kam Chancellor or even Thomas Davis type of role. Blitzing, covering TEs/RBs, close to the LOS for run support, etc.
-
No. Willis is a massive project, exciting to some degree but odds are he won't work out at all. Not too interested in seeing Cam as starter either, much better than Darnold trash but would rather go for a big dog or just flat out tank.

Judging from Fitt's Comments, Reddick isn't coming back.
t96 replied to Proudiddy's topic in Carolina Panthers
Reddick is a very solid player but not worth what some team will pay him based on back to back double digit sack seasons. Right call as much as it stinks to see him go. But while this is a good move as others have said the Ian Thomas deal is a massive joke and inconsistent with Fitts' reasoning with Reddick so I ultimately just don't know what to say about this front office -
In a heartbeat.

What does a "coach in waiting" even do for us? None of our assistants should be HCs either and McAdoo is the obvious option for interim if Rhule does fail mid-season. I'm cool trading for Watson while his legal status is up in the air if the draft compensation return is tied to his availability, i.e. conditional picks only become 1st rounders if he plays otherwise they are 2nd/3rd/whatever. If not structuring it that way of course you don't risk giving up a ton of assets for him.

I was at that game and couldn’t believe Funchess not attacking the ball in the end zone at the end, and I think Clay got hurt early in the game so we had even less than what you posted... As pissed as I was about that loss I remember being somewhat happy that it was what lead to us canning Shula and like you said getting some WR help finally. Little did I know how things would turn out

What the fug is going on I figured it’d be for like $2m a year. Jesus Christ this fuging team needs to just be removed from the league what a joke

Well, here's something different. Remember J.T. Ibe? I didn't.
t96 replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
I feel for Ibe but the thing is if he truly was talented enough to be getting a shot in this league other teams would've come calling. I don't think the hit would've had any impact at all on other teams' interest in him. Rhule is a jackass and sucks too but in this particular case I don't have a huge issue with them letting go of Ibe after that hit. He was such a longshot anyways... -
Daley was a good find in the 6th. The rest of the day 2 and 3 picks -- trash

Gettledouche was an unmitigated disaster in NY and had his share of issues here, but at the end of the day him paired with Rivera was our best stretch in franchise history. 5 years together, 4 playoff seasons, 3 of those seasons resulting in at least a divisional round appearance and one SB appearance along with a 15 win season. Yes of course I know Cam was in his prime during those years, but still that is a very successful stretch run and it's clear as day to me that even if Rhule had Cam in his prime right now we wouldn't be as good as we were in that stretch.

Cousins/JimmyG makes a lot of sense for Rhule (not the Panthers)
t96 replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
I know the situation is very dire right now but things can turn around insanely fast in this league and a new staff can overcome any issues from the previous staff. Yes that requires Tepper to hire competent people (and get rid of the current incompetent people) which I don't have any confidence in right now, but he could still get lucky. Look at the Rams, they traded a ton of draft capital (including a future 5th overall pick) for frigging Jared Goff who was one of the worst QBs in the entire league his rookie year then hire McVay and immediately have 5 straight winning seasons and 2 SB appearances, finally winning it once they got a true franchise QB. Chiefs too with Reid. Obviously McVay wasn't proven but that type of turn around is exactly why I so badly want us to get a proven successful Harbaugh, he would come in and immediately turn this team around and have immediate and sustained success. Tepper just needs to get his head out of his ass and fire Rhule and give Harbaugh whatever he wants. -
I've followed his career in Russia very closely. At the time we drafted him he had flashed at the world juniors that year and showed all the tools (size, flexibility, instincts, etc.) to be an elite NHL goalie at that time after being pretty much unknown the year before (he was an overager in the draft, so he went undrafted a few times and re-entered the draft, by that time his stock increased a ton and we took him high in the 2nd round). Since then he really struggled to get consistent playing time and carve out a role as a starter and because of that he couldn't get on a roll and his play was inconsistent. Finally last year he got traded to Torpedo (KHL team) and has been consistently great since that trade, being arguably a top 5 goalie in the KHL this year. I'm really excited about the kid but people need to temper expectations on his timeline. He may get a few starts in the NHL this year to see how he does but his track record and sample size of consistently strong play is very limited for a goalie prospect. We brought him over now because the KHL season ended and he had nowhere to play but I still fully expect him to go back to the KHL next year as both Raanta and Freddie are still under contract plus we have Makiniemi and now LaFontaine in the AHL already getting a ton of the starts. I would expect he gets a top 2 spot with the Canes starting in the '23-'24 season, but will definitely be fun to see how he does in his stop in North America right now.

How far would the Stafford led Panthers have gone?
t96 replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
Easily make the playoffs as a wildcard with Stafford, then a quick out in the first round. -
Yep Rhule is trash and a douche but Apple is too, screw him
-
Fair but they do have a franchise QB on a rookie deal, teams with that typically do very well for a little while.
-
I won’t lose any sleep over it that’s for sure. Don’t really care or think that much about non-Panthers and no I won’t jump ship but have fun with that
-
They’ve got a young (and cheap) core. Not sold on their coach at all or even Burrow but with him and Chase on rookie deals I don’t think they’re going anywhere soon.
-
Last 2 SB winners are mercenary teams that weren’t built through the draft at all.
-
So to all the fools saying to ignore OL because of this Bengals team fug NO. We need to build an elite (or at least serviceable) OL ASAP.
-
HORRIBLE play call. You can’t run it there and be short of the line and waste a timeout.
