  1. https://www.marca.com/en/nfl/2022/04/19/625eca30e2704e04be8b458a.html It has already started to. The NFL used to administer it to all combine participants. They didn't this year and while they allowed some teams to administer it themselves for now, the expectation is at some point that won't be allowed either. Many teams this year did not administer any wonderlic tests for prospects they were interested in.
  2. Agree. Honestly none of the 1st round players even interest me all that much. Sure a LT would be nice but honestly none of these guys are great in the context of all time LT prospects. They are solid but no sure thing in the top 10. The QBs are a mess. Haven't really followed other positions all that closely but this just seems like 2013 all over again to me. Very few elite players came out of the first round of that draft (and none from the top 19 or so) and not a single good starting QB came from it. I think this draft will be similar. Adding in that we have no day 2 picks and it makes for a pretty boring draft for us.
  3. Speed actually can directly correlate to success on the field. I've never seen anything to suggest that wonderlic scores correlate at all to success on the field. It's a generic "IQ" test with questions that aren't relevant to football at all. There are a lot of dumbasses who can see the field and understand the game. And a lot of insanely smart people who can't. Also plenty of people don't test well when under pressure in a situation like that, and a lot of NFL prospects don't take it seriously knowing that it isn't really much of a factor. NFL teams don't really care about it. There's a reason it's going away.
  4. Nah it’s pretty meaningless. https://wonderlictestpractice.com/nfl-wonderlic-scores/ multiple hall of famers sub-20 and multiple busts in the 40s.
  5. Better than reaching for a QB but prefer LT or trade down
  6. Good. Those play-in blowout losses in back to back years were unacceptable as was the team defense. I liked him as a person and he had some redeeming qualities in player development but still, this team needs a new and better leader for sure.
  7. All indications pre-draft last year were that we weren't really interested in the QBs, so not much of an attempt at a smokescreen...
  8. I hope our "QB interest" in this draft is all a smokescreen to get some sucker to trade in front of us for a QB, leaving us a better chance of nabbing the LT we want. But we'll probably reach for Pickett, at least that's what I expect to happen...
  9. Lol I don't think we need to worry about Darnold having a great year.
  10. I don't see any issue with what he said here. He's completely right. It's a random shot in the dark though and those types of guys would need to be coached up a ton obviously. But every year there are pro bowlers across every position found in the mid/late rounds. Campen's job is to focus on the players he has and get the most out of them and the unit as a whole. I'd rather have a coach that recognizes that a lot of guys have talent and it's on the coaches too to get it out of them to a degree. That's better than coaches who make excuses about the players they don't have...
  11. Wilks is an extremely respected defensive coach and I trust him with our secondary.
  12. Chinn is naturally a strong safety who should play in the box most plays like Kam Chancellor so this makes a lot of sense. He is not a coverage FS like Earl Thomas so as long as we don’t play him in that role like we did last year then I’m happy. He could play LB sure but he fits better at SS.
  13. Beggars can't be choosers. And if we get Baker it's merely a stopgap anyways so I wouldn't be concerned about him not wanting to be here.
  14. He's struggled a bit in his recent games in the A, but yeah I still want to see what he's got, at the very least split with Raanta and if he's grabbing the bull by the horns then keep rolling with him in the playoffs if Freddie is out. Generational player? Let's not get ahead of ourselves. He's a great goalie prospect and has all the intangibles but he's yet to prove he can perform at a high level consistently over a large sample size of games (other Russians like Shestyorkin and Sorokin played for multiple years at a high level in the KHL before coming over, Pyotr has about 1/2 of a season of strong play). He's young for a goalies and very well may take some time to get settled.
  15. We definitely need some kind of identity/leadership. Doesn't necessarily need to be at the QB position, but we have zero true leaders on the team right now. McCaffrey could get there, Chinn seemed like he might after his rookie year but he didn't do much to progress there last year. We were a bit spoiled with TD, Luke, Cam, Olsen, Kalil as the leadership group, they were incredible. Plus the vet leaders we brought in especially 2015 with Peanut and Allen. Last couple years we don't have a single player worthy of being called a leader, frankly.
  16. The way I see it is any QB trade including Darnold would be fine with me. Any QB trade not including Darnold is unacceptable. I think with an upgraded OL (need to hit on LT in the draft and have our FA guys show they were worth those deals) that a Jimmy G or Baker M could get us into a wildcard slot, IF McAdoo can show he's the real deal as an o coordinator and Rhule shows some progress as a HC. Yes, a lot of big IFs there, but I prefer trying to go that route rather than wasting 6 overall on a likely non-franchise QB. Only if Darnold goes out though, which I hope the Browns come around on as they could use him for the games that Watson is suspended without having to deal with the distraction of Baker. They are in the same position with Baker as us with Darnold, fully guaranteed 5th year option. So releasing him does nothing and clearly no teams want to trade for him. Would make sense for them to just eat the cap hit this year on Darnold and for us to take a chance on a different QB that is no risk since we already have Sam's cap hit anyways. That swap makes sense to me. But no indications that it could realistically happen.
  17. Sometimes the simplest answer is the correct answer, and as much as we're all gonna hate it: I think we pull the trigger on Pickett at 6. (Aints trade up above us for Willis).
  18. Let's hope NO wins tomorrow. We'll get their 1st round pick this draft if they do, likely 15 overall.
  19. Tepper laughing all the way to the bank as the team keeps increasing in value despite sucking.
  20. I had a dream last night that we lured Luke out of retirement and gave him an 8 year $100M contract for some reason... With how stupid this team is I actually wouldn't have been surprised if that were true.
  21. Definitely not coming out of playing retirement. Maybe discussing a coaching job?
  22. If any of Borrego, Hayward or Terry are back next year I’m not tuning in. Get rid of all these fuging losers. Also while I like Mitch this past draft was horrible. Bouknight and Kai massive busts.
  23. Nice job Jordan, I’ve completely lost all interest in this team. I don’t even fuging care if we re-sign Bridges or Melo walks to LA or somewhere else. This franchise belongs in the fuging gutter. What a joke. Good night
  24. Fire this loser Borrego tonight before the clock hits midnight. This poo is unacceptable, 2 years in a row. fuging trash coach. The Hawks aren’t even remotely good.
