And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not
Madwolf replied to CPsinceDay1's topic in Carolina Panthers
If you can sign him to a cheap 1 year "prove it" contract I'm all for it. He just turned 30, and has an injury history, so I'm not about it if it's not for the right price and is very long. -
He doesn't need to be our best ever, if he can be a solid #1 though, that'll be great.

Draft Analysis: "A massive value-destroying error"?
Madwolf replied to PanthersATL's topic in Carolina Panthers
This article is why you end up drafting guys like Jimmy "The Pickle" Clausen. You don't chase bad QBs, you get the capital to go after good ones. -
If Teddy starts in Denver he'll have more game winning drives in 2021 because of two reason: 1. More opportunities thanks to a great defense 2. Dumb luck. Should have at least been 2-6 in those 8 games last year with bad luck, but we had no luck. It won't prove anything, but we'll hear "hot takes" on it all the same.

Fair point. Certainly doesn't bode well for Thomas either way though. lol.

You can have criticism without tossing someone under the bus, and that seems to be what's happening here. Teddy put a lot of the blame on himself, and Matt Rhule agreed with the critique a bit, and wished Teddy well. Brady isn't infallible, and that is expected of a 1st year NFL OC. Everything doesn't need to be controversial click-bait, but that is the state of our society now.

Efficiency isn't a measure of yardage, it's how you got those yards. If Wilson gets to 240, with less passes and a higher completion % he'll end up as more efficient. Darnold has struggled being as efficient as most QBs in the league in his 1st 3 years.

We don't really use the TE as much as we did in our past offenses, at least it didn't seem like it last year. It might have helped, of course, if we had some decent TEs, but Ian Thomas fits the bill of a lot of guys who wash out of the league. All the talent in the world and none of the work ethic. Route running is a major component of pass catching in the NFL. Especially at a position that generally doesn't just outrun it's competition, you have to be able to get open through proper technique. I don't have much hope that Thomas will get it right at this point.

Darnold 220 yards - 2 TD - 1 INT Wilson 240 yards - 2 TDs - 1 INT Panthers win 27 to 24 Both QBs will look good, but Wilson will be more efficient. I like what we did this off-season, but I'm not convinced our secondary is going to be anything to write home about outside of Horn. Wilson is going to have harder time than he had in college, but he's not going to suddenly throw 4 INTs a game. That's just not who he is.

Post-saltiness over trading for Darnold, I'm not feeling as bad as I once was. I like the potential of him turning around with a new start here, but I'm not quite excited yet. I just need to see it on the field, and I hope all of this disappointment goes away on my end. Fingers crossed he proves me wrong.

Tommy Tremble -- Here's a Breakdown If You're Interested**
Madwolf replied to SetfreexX's topic in Carolina Panthers
I really like the pick of Tremble, but my heart and head are fighting over what he's going to be. May be I'm just getting older and more cynical, but I feel like he's going to be a guy that plays well, but people are disappointed because he never quite lives up to the "hype" of what everyone expects in their wildest dreams. Honestly it's a guy you really love to have at the end of the day, but his value gets lost on certain fans. -
I'm the biggest Teddy fan around, but this guy...

QB's and WR's working out together this offseason
Madwolf replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
I hated that about last off-season. None of the new guys could really work together. I think we should see less problems for guys getting the schemes down this year on both sides of the ball and simply playing faster. -
I think Moore is the only lock after DJ, Robby, and and Marshall.
-
Give me: TDs: 21 INTs: 13 Yards: 3,200 Completion %: 61% I think he'll have a career year, but it won't be too much better than his time in NY.

2021 Carolina Panthers are now the youngest team in the NFL
Madwolf replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
We were the youngest team last year as well I believe, or at least had the youngest defense. -
Round 1 - Carolina Panthers Select CB Jaycee Horn
Madwolf replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
I firmly believe we went from Bridgewater to Darnold to appease Tepper. Not because we thought one was truly better than the other. Next year we'll draft a QB, but they didn't like Jones or Fields at 8. -
Round 1 - Carolina Panthers Select CB Jaycee Horn
Madwolf replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
I agree. Sewell was the dream though. -
Round 1 - Carolina Panthers Select CB Jaycee Horn
Madwolf replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
I really like Horn, but not getting a tackle again just makes us feel so cursed. I think Horn is going to shine as our best CB this year, but our offense is going to be pretty brutal. -
I do like Horn. I just hate that we hate our QBs having injury free seasons.
-
Well RIP Darnold and our QB in 2022.
-
Hate it
