  1. I think John L. Smith said it best: If you have 2 offensive linemen, one whose a 5 every game, and the other whose a 1 or an 8, you'll take the guy whose a 5 every game. You can game plan around guys like that.
  2. The reason he's still here is because he's a 3rd round pick, and it's his 3rd pre-season. I doubt he makes it to Game 1 at this point, but it's not that hard to understand why he currently has a roster spot.
  3. Would love to see them let Grier throw a bit more. Doesn't matter if we win this thing or not, let's see what all these kids got.
  4. That's the Texas style of football we all know and love right there.
  5. Just got home from the lake and turned the game on when we were on D. Looking good all around so far. Hubbard has looked like a quality pick up at RB, and man you have to love that play from Tremble.
  6. The guy is currently questionable to make the final cut on the offensive line period. Having him start at LT... might as well just get the hospital bed ready for Darnold.
  7. The Jets are going to be bad, but I don't know that they'll be a laughing stock under Saleh in his first year. I think he was a good hire, and will at least get guys in the right spots and playing proper football, even if those players aren't NFL starting caliber guys in the end. We shouldn't under-estimate them week 1.
  8. This so much. Manziel didn't translate to the NFL because he went to the league and daddy couldn't keep his diaper changed any longer.
  9. I think we're going to get to see how Teddy and Sam do this year both in charge of new teams. https://twitter.com/ZacStevensDNVR/status/1425565756226297857?s=20
  10. He played well the year before that also. Not as good as last year, but it would be odd for it to be an arbitration at this point.
  11. Just so everyone is aware, these overalls aren't exactly refelective of what the team overall actually is in the game. These are "assigned" overall ratings, that change to reflect the teams actual overall when you start a Franchise. With that being said, a lot of the Panthers ratings are true head scratchers. And the Cowboys are always over-rated because the ratings guy is a HUGE Cowboys fan.
  12. Louisville had a stretch of really awesome RBs there for a while since Michael Bush followed Shelton.
  13. I remember Eric Shelton in college. Guy was an absolute beast. Was thrilled when he got drafted here, but then he ended up with some unfixable back issue and never played.
  14. Otah was hurt because he couldn't stay in shape. And he had those concerns when we drafted him at 19.
  15. When he was healthy? You mean both games? There's a difference between bad luck and being 100lbs over weight
  16. Jeff Otah has to be on that list. Vernon Butler never gets mentioned, but is definitely Top3 Jimmy Clausen and Armanti Edwards should tie for 3rd.
  17. Glad the offense had a nice day, but the LBer spot is incredibly worrying. So many on here said not to worry about the position, but our playoff hopes probably rest on that group figuring it out and staying healthy as far as our defense goes.
  18. Ratings were released today, and here's some surprises IMO: WR - DJ Moore - 84 - Seems low for DJ WR - Robby Anderson - 87 - DJ being an 84 was a tough sell, but Robby being 3 points higher than DJ was a real head scratcher WR - Terrace Marshall Jr - 70 - Fair for a rookie SS - Lano Hill - 69 - Our highest rated Strong Safety RT - Taylor Moton - 85 - Seems a little low, again, considering how good he's been. ROLB - Shaq Thompson - 78 - Again seems low RG - John Miller - 65 - You're starting RG. While Miller isn't great, I'm not sure he's a 65 overall. Makes you wonder if the reason Madden's offensive lines suck is because they just under-rate the crap out of OL instead of tuning the game properly to create a passrush. RE - Haasson Reddick - 82 - Good rating, but I find it odd that he's that high vs guys that are under-rated and have had more sustained success. QB - Sam Darnold - 71 - Fair I guess, basically rated like a rookie, so it's not awful. MLB - Denzel Perryman - 74 LT - Cameron Erving - 69 - Your top rated LT. LOLB - Frankie Luvu - 69 - Your top rated LOLB LG - Pat Elfein - 70 - Your top rated LG. LE - Brian Burns - 87 - Finally someone that feels respected. RB - CMC - 97 - And someone else FS - Jeremy Chinn - 80 - Not bad DT - Derrick Brown - 79 - Not bad CB - AJ Bouye - 83 - highest rated CB CB - Jaycee Horn - 74 - Concern here is that he's slower in speed, and acceleration compared to Jackson, and a full 7 points lower in agility. C - Matt Paradis - 78 - Which seems kind of high if you're going to rate some of the other guys as low as they did, but I'll take it. Still feels like the ratings guy is a clown. I honestly don't know how they do these ratings, but the lack of effort is apparent.
  19. As happy as I am for the defense, the offensive line sounds as offensive as usual. I loved Horn this year, but I'm so tired of not drafting offensive linemen because "it's not an exciting pick." But to me, losing on game day, is WAY less fun. We killed Cam We killed Teddy Step on up Sam, we gave you 18 amazing skill players, how far can you throw on your back?
  20. Did I time travel back to the Pickle's last year? You could easily say that neither Teddy nor Cam locked onto WRs. Not to the point that it made them bad QBs at least. Teddy probably went through his progressions too fast (and got to his checkdown), while Cam probably waited too long at times, neither were QBs that locked onto guys all game.
  21. I think we have 5 games we should win, and combine that with toss-ups I think we end up with about 7 or 8 wins as long as Darnold plays well. I think 2022 is where we really step forward.
  22. I was assuming we were talking lost for the season. I think if they're lost for the season you're hoping for a Colts without Peyton Manning season, and to draft a guy like Luck. I just don't believe backup QB is worth sinking a lot of money into.
  23. If your primary QB goes down I don't really think you worry about whose backing up him. The season is lost.
