  1. I don't think he's really saying those things about Teddy. Just sounds like the usual coach speak to me, and that's the same as how I feel about what Teddy said during the year that was so heavily criticized. People hear what they want. It's like him talking about QBs at the Senior Bowl, he basically rattles off every ideal trait you want in a QB, which is pure coach speak. Yet everyone is convinced now that he was talking about Fields, Wilson, Lance and (insert your favorite QB here). Rhule (and Teddy) aren't going to ruin their locker-room by acting how people think they're acting because of what they read about from an interview.
  2. If we trade for a QB that makes sense, but if we have a rookie you let him get beat up on instead of the rookie. There is no sense in sacrificing you're Franchise QB over a guy that's not going to be here in 2 years. As stupid as Teddy's contract was, this was always what the plan was supposed to be when you blow through all the coach speak, player speak, and other bs. Plus, keeping Teddy allows us to lose a few more games than we should and really but a nice bow on the final true year of rebuilding and switch gears after next season.
  3. As much as I know everyone love DJ Moore, I'm not so sold on him. I think he's a very good WR, but I'm not sure he's a #1. He doesn't change the game like I expect him too. In all honesty, if we got a good deal, and Moore was going the other way, I wouldn't be too upset with getting Watson in the exchange.
  4. I love Tutu, but he's 2 inches shorter and 30lbs lighter than Samuel. I'm just not sure he's going to make it in the NFL.
  5. That's a good enough trade to get us into the Wildcard every year for the next 3 of the next 4 years. Then after another 2-3 years of building talent through the draft we'll be able to be a Super Bowl team with Watson around 31 or 32 years of age.
  6. It's like the 5th place team during the College Football Playoff selection time when Notre Dame is at 4, and just lost by 75 points. Sure, in theory, you should be in the College Football Playoffs, but I wouldn't get my hopes up.
  7. Agreed, he has had a fantastic career, but it felt like he was free falling a bit as the games went on deep into the season.
  8. I so get it, but I'm thinking about 3 and 4 years from now. I always try to think about it as: Where do I want to be from our rock bottom point? I think you can build a roster and compete for Super Bowls in 2023-24. I think some of these big trades push that back to 25-26 with our current talent level. We'd just end up with teams that are good enough to make the playoffs, and not good enough to win it all.
  9. I both support trading down, and it also terrifies me when you have a Top10 pick. lol
  10. If we don't make a trade by the draft I think he's the starter day 1 unless we get Wilson. Which isn't a bad thing. Let him take the hits for the young kid, and get a good draft pick for a final year that could spring board us into the playoffs.
  11. I'd love to have Watson, but trying to look at it without blue tinted glasses on, I just don't see it happening. I think Watson wants to go to a place that he thinks he can win right away, and I'm not sure that's what we currently look like. And losing those draft picks necessary scares me.
  12. That's not really true. He can veto trades, yes, but the Texans aren't just going to give him away for less either. You also have to ask yourself what Watson wants. Right now he's more likely to want a trade to Miami or SF than the NYJ, or Carolina. We're still a ways from competing and we wouldn't be able to add much help for a few years with a blockbuster trade.
  13. Last time I was in SF they gave me a Mustang as my rental and I was terrified every time I went up one of those famous hills. I couldn't see anything over the hood as we crested them. lol
  14. The biggest problem is we don't have the draft capital those teams do.
  15. I wouldn't want Brady or Brees behind our offensive line at the moment.
  16. Pre-June1st it's a $20 million dollar cap hit, saving us only $3million Post-June1st it's a $15 million dollar cap hit, saving us the $8million Post-June, no one is FA is going to be worth it, so you might as well hold onto Teddy through his 2nd season and let him either take hits for the future starter if he's a rookie, or serve as a backup in case something happens.
  17. I think the problem with anyone out of the big 4 is they have larger flaws. If we can't get one of them I'd much rather stand pat and get a guy next year.
  18. What's the over/under on people who think we should bring him here for 3 1st rounders?
  19. Tua can actually move, where as Jones is a statue for an NFL QB in 2021. He's got Peyton Manning speed.
  20. I like Tutu, but we already kind of have a guy in his mold with DJ Moore. He's got NFL speed but he's tiny.
  21. I always like to toss a Louisville guy up for thought, and Dez Fitzpatrick is a guy to watch out for at WR. WR isn't a huge area of need, but he's a go up and get it guy, and he has nice moves that get him open in space. I think he'd be a good addition on day 2 or 3 depending on where his draft stock falls.
  22. Jake Delhomme was pretty fabulous at 4th quarter comebacks! He probably cost me a few years on my life, but it was fun.
