That'd be a brain dead trade. You essentially lose 4 first rounders, and all the associated rookie contracts that go with 3 of them. You have no LT, and no way to draft a good one for 4 years with an offensive line that is entirely out of contract after next season. Watson is great. Being perennial losers for the next 3 seasons so we can "have a QB," is super dumb.

I don't think that's particularly small for a QB in the NFL. Pretty sure Cousins is right at that size, and Matt Ryan is close to it. With rookies I don't worry as much either because they'll add a little size for the NFL as well.
-
I'm not so sure. I feel like teams did better this past draft because they didn't overthink everything as much.

Marty may be the NFL's most under appreciated coach. There are plenty of guys that "couldn't win it all" until they did like Dungy. It was disgusting watching San Diego let him go, and then watching that franchise turn into a withered husk in his absence.

Wentz update: Trade is close, with three teams involved

Wentz? -
I mean, we haven't had CAP space for like 4 years because of bad signings. We essentially sold our future and many young players away by making mistakes in resigning older players and over paying older players in FA.

I think holding him to the draft to drive up cost is what's going on. I'm very afraid we're falling into a trap to get robbed blind

The Hurney rule? -
This is why I'm against trading the farm for Watson, and losing Moton in the process. If Mahomes can't work behind that line, do we really want to see Watson behind it's twin? I watched Cam get murdered enough. I want Watson or a guy like him, but not if it fugs us for 3 years and I have to watch our most valuable amd exciting player get killed fod it.

Teddy Bridgewater wins the Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award.

Oh man I couldn't remember Proehl's name. The mental block was real. His son is in the draft this year! -
This for sure. You went from just needing a QB, to getting Tom Brady in a once in a lifetime deal.
-
Eh, not next year. We need a good MLB, some secondary help, and to replace Short. I'd say 2 years.

I still don't see it. Smitty and Olsen are HoFers IMO, and no one on this currently claim that at this point in their careers. CMC is better than Williams at their best, but CMC didn't play. Our offensive line still wasn't great this year. They were good enough to be at the line bellow which no one made the playoffs, and Okung was hurt half the season. Without Moton the line is a dumpster fire. Are they better than the last 4 years? I mean may be, but we're pullimg hairs over what the best of bad is. The one thing which makes past offenses better is how you had to defend them. Moose and Olsen, and even Benjamin before injury, couldn't be defended like these guys can. They're mostly speed guys, were Olsen and Moose used their route running and size like power forwards to grab the ball in possession situations. None of our current WRs and TEs really do that. That isn't changing with a QB change either. We have a video game offense were speed is king, but it doesn't translate unless they can get open in space, and that doesn't happen every play in the NFL. Brady and guys like Gronk were so good together because Gronk add a different type of threat to defend, just like Kelce, or Kittle. -
Game wasn't very fun to watch, and the officiating was straight brutal. I don't hate Brady or the Bucs though. Not going to waste energy on that sort of thing.

I'll say it again. Watson, Mahomes, Brady. You obviously need an offensive line to win playoff games. You need a good QB and line, and luck with injuries. That's one reason I don't want to lose picks just for a QB this year, because then we'll be 1 of 2 for years all over again. -

I'm with you on a few things, but this isn't the best offensive skill group ever. First of all CMC didn't really play, and people are over rating Andersen greatly. This group is not better than Smith, Moose, and Davis, or Smith, Olsen, and Williams/Stewart. I think Moore is going to be great, but he's currently not in the same conversation of Steve Smith. You could argue Samuels belongs with Moose or Olsen, but he's a different skill set that we currently don't have. I believe this is certainly a skilled group, but more 1 dimensional, and no were close to past offensive lines. None of that absolves Teddy, but he doesn't need to be tossed under the bus any harder. Plus, we're setting the bar too high for next years rookie if we say that this is the best offensive group in franchise history. -
KC is getting hosed with the calls, but man does this game show the importance of a solid LT and O-Line.

I love Teddy. He's a great human being, and has such a great story. It isn't working out in the NFL, and that's disappointing. I understand the people who are upset he's not lived up to what we wanted. What I don't understand are the people who seem to hate Teddy as a person for that. I feel like we've got so angry as a fan base the last decade, and I'm not sure why. We can be disappointed in players on the field, and even off of it, but I've never understood the malice against them as people. It has worn on me as a sports fan. Nothing is always sunshine and rainbows, but sports use to be a place to escape this negativity. -
Not sure if he'll be here next year or not, but I do hope that this dispels, to some extent, the idea that Teddy is a bad guy for the locker room. If we draft a QB, which I think we will, Teddy is a good guy to be on the sideline to help. Like DA was for Cam. https://www.panthers.com/news/teddy-bridgewater-wins-art-rooney-sportsmanship-award

Ah come on man, let's not wish injury on people.
-
That's because no one wants him. We already have Teddy Bridgewater, and as much as I love Teddy, he doesn't look like the answer. So we bring in a guy who looks like he's not the answer any longer from Philly? Seems dumb. Seems real dumb.
