Don't forget Ed Oliver too, who they drafted in the 1st round couple years ago.

Charleston WR has virtual meeting with Panthers
DeSim replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in 2023 NFL Draft
You know what they say about athletes from small schools...big cocks. Sorry, TheSpecialJuan threads do things to me. -
The Panthers couldn't have done anything less obvious to lose that game. Any team in NFL history could've beaten a Dwayne Haskins led team...let it go.
-
I wanna say it was 2016...against the Houston Rockets, which the Hornets won. I remember Marvin Williams getting like 10 points in the first 6 minutes of the game. It was a Jeremy Lin bobblehead giveaway night.
-
Marvin Wilson in the 2nd/3rd round.
-
Amon-Ra St.Brown is gonna be a stud in my opinion, the best route runner in the draft, and good in the slot. If he’s there for our third pick, take him.
-
Only way I trade the 8th pick and next year's first is if it's a trade that gets us Deshaun Watson, and we know that trade probably isn't going to happen. At this point I say just stay at #8 and if any of the top 4 QBs aren't there, just take the best player available or try to trade back. Select a QB in the 3rd-5th rounds and roll with that guy as your starter (Jamie Newman/Kyle Trask), you already know what you're getting with Teddy, let the rook go out there and let's see what their potential is. If he plays the same as or better than Teddy, great...a cheaper better option.

I would love to have one of the top 4 QBs but we know anything can happen, and if that happens, I would love if the draft ended up like this... All 4 QB's were gone by the time of our pick. Ended up trading back a couple times and ended up with these picks. Acquired an additional 2nd from Jaguars for next year, and an additional 3rd from the Eagles next year. Surrendered our 4th from next year to move up. With the first pick, pairing up Christian Barmore with Derrick Brown...oh man. Second pick, selecting possibly the best guard in the draft, Wyatt Davis. Third pick, plug and play start at LT, Liam Eichenberg. Re-sign Moton and you'd have the offenslive line as: Liam Eichenberg - FREE AGENT - Matt Paradis - Wyatt Davis - Taylor Moton ...looks solid to me. Fourth pick, could've gone CB here but Amon-Ra St. Brown was just too good to pass up here. An amazing router runner, good after the catch. Although he's not as fast as Curtis Samuel, St. Brown would be a perfect replacement. WR group of DJ Moore, Robby Anderson, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Omar Bayless. Fifth pick, Chazz Surratt. After passing up on Dylan Moses for St. Brown, I traded up (from 113th and 4th round next year) in order to select Chazz. Jermaine Carter, Shaq Thompson, Chazz Surratt doesn't look too bad. Sixth pick, if Panthers miss out on one of the top 4 QB's, I believe they'll select a QB but it'll probably be in this manner, in the mid-late to late rounds, Jamie Newman still available here, why not. Seventh pick, best player available and a steal here in my opinion. I know I know...Barmore was selected in the first round but Marvin Wilson was projected as a early 1st round pick before this season started. If both end up reaching their potential...imagine the rotation in the middle, omg... The DT group would be Derrick Brown, Christian Barmore, Marvin Wilson, Zach Kerr, Bravvion Roy. Lastly, Tre McKitty, physically gifted, lots potential, he just needs to put it all together. There's believe that he might've raised his draft stock by showing improvement in blocking ability.

Definitely doesn't help, but I don't think it hurts either. Noone could've done anything with that offensive line.
-
Some people believe that Leatherwood might be better playing inside. If Moton stays, O-line looks solid. If he leaves, well the pick is even better.
-
You’d be surprised, constantly hearing a different opinion by many people can make someone have second thoughts and question themselves. It might not always work or no one might bite but like I said, it does not hurt to try. It’s a strategy that has been mentioned in the past by people in front offices.
-
I don't think it's to be cute, I think these draft insiders might actually be getting these opinions (Rashawn Slater being better than Penei) from actual people in front offices around the NFL, they (front office people) throw it out there knowing it's completely false hoping it lets Penei Sewell to drop to them, if some other team bites on the hype and selects Slater first. Even though is obvious to many that Penei is the better talent, teams still attempt that strategy hoping it works, doesn't hurt to try. Happens for many other players as well.

Jesus...relax lol.

Jameis Winston starting in NO next year?????
DeSim replied to kungfoodude's topic in Carolina Panthers
That's a nice way of putting it. -
You wanna bet on it that he doesn’t get dealt for 2 firsts?
-
lmao no one is giving 2 first round picks for Stafford

QBs could go even higher than expected in the draft
DeSim replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
To be sure that we definitely secure at least one of the top 4 QBs, we have to move in front of Detroit. -

I’d only offer our 1st this year, 1st next year and 2nd next year...they’ll obviously say no to that. Fields/Wilson/Lance is who we’ll end up with, wether we trade up or stay at #8.
-
I kept seeing Penei drop and Bengals taking a QB. I kept resetting until I got realistic results before the Panthers 1st pick, and when it happened, this is how it went. Trey Lance, we get our QB of the future, let him sit for a year and learn...I think he’s still raw but he has crazy potential. Liam Eichenberg, Notre Dame keeps producing great offensive lineman, the hell are they doing up there? anyways, hopefully we re-sign Moton and pair them up. (Traded 2nd next year, 4th of this and next years for Lions #39) Alim McNeill, right with next pick...this dude is going to be crazy good, just watch. Pairing him up with Derrick Brown is going to be a nightmare. Creed Humphrey, one of the top interior lineman in the draft, extremely smart on pre-snap reads, starting center once Paradis leaves. Trey Sermon, this dude is fuging physical, replacement for Mike Davis...we clearly saw how important it is to have a backup RB. Tre McKitty, physical specimen, but raw...Rhule wants players that have the physical ability and is up to coaching staff to get them ready.

To his defense, he never stated that he knew what the team is thinking...that’s why he said “if”.

Rapoport: Panthers expected to be in the mix for Watson.
DeSim replied to nctarheelreincarnated's topic in Carolina Panthers
I’m for it and against it, I see the pros and cons in both sides. Let’s just see what happens. -
I'm sure he doesn't know who's playing who since he also mentioned that Mac Jones will beat Trevor Lawrence for the championship...so damn, Alabama is going to play Notre Dame, Ohio St, and Clemson? lol
