While I'm certain tanking, or attempts to tank exist, players rely on current performance to drive future contracts. I can't imagine any player who isn't signed 'long term' to be willing to tank for a team they might not be on next season and, in turn, impact their ability to get signed elsewhere. Unless of course, the current team incentivizes them to help the tank, which might not be that far fetched. That being said.. I can 100% see an owner forcing a coaches hand and not playing certain players in an effort to tank.

I think that's just Barstool reaching trying to be first. No way they knew that while the game was still going on. That said, I'd be shocked if he is still on the team through the end of the week. I don't fault him at all. He came here to escape the Jets and they brought Sam right in with him. He's fed up and I don't blame him. Wish he would have handled it better at times.. and hopefully his attitude doesn't rub off on DJ, who has every right to be fed up as well.
